It's been almost five years since Madoka came out. Do Madokafags still think it's the best anime ever?
I wouldn't say it's the best anime ever, but it's still one of my favorite shows for a lot of reasons. And like the other anon, I really want the mods would ban the circlejerkers in the threads. It's pretty much my one and only problem on here.
They're either bait (this one) or image dumping. I do find nice images but still it just clutters the board.
You don't anonymize them?
Although banning all tripcodes and their reply chains recursively significantly improves perceived post quality on /a/, sadly, it's opposite on some other boards, so if you, say, go to o/dbt a lot, it's not a good option.
Madoka isn't even close to being the best mahou shoujo with a pink-haired protagonist, who could be that delusional...
Currently watching this and I'm really enjoying it so far, but is it going to become a formulaic show? Because that's kinda what it looks like it's going to become as of the 4th episode.
>there will never be another anime as epic as Madoka
It's orange though.
Instead of being my top 3 now it's within my top 5. Including rebellion of course.
Madoka will age well.
Not anon above but adapted shit will always be worse than originals because the director has almost no freedom over the screenplay. Because it is an adaptation made to advertise for the original, it will inherently hold much less value, and constraints like deadlines, number of episodes, having to reach a certain point will most likely end up screwing the pacing. And a lot of anime original endings will shit the floor because it's something made on the spot that is supposed to serve as a makeshift conclusion, which will not always suit the characters' personalities or the universe.
There are a lot of reasons why Shirobako is said to be AOTY 2014 by a lot of anons. Being anime original is one of those reasons.
I think that the Japanese animation industry needs to split in two and dedicate one part to the adaptation of manga for advertising purposes, and the other part to studios that would be in charge of anime originals.
Just the series itself? Not the best anime ever but a solid enjoyable show that doesn't overstay it's welcome. Catching up on the fansubs while waiting for the last two episodes in 2011 was an experience, that's for sure.
But I stopped the shit. Many tripfriends have the consensus. You know. Why are you dare to mention the word?
>this thread is still more real discussion of the show
What are you guys discussing? You guys don't seem to be doing it, because don't have a rich stock of topics for conversation. I wish you guys could have read Japanese articles. Okay, what do you want me to do? I will do anything I can.
inb4 Kill yourself Actually I'll cease to exist as an individual. It won't be anything nice like dying. inb4 Get out. But LoC is omnipresent.
Nothing has come along (yet) that has overthrown Madoka's status as the Anime of the Decade.
Yes, Madoka is still a best anime. There haven't been anything like it since.
But Rebellion is shit. There haven't been worst anime since.
And here comes the butthurt tripfag ironically proving the point.
Look at him lacking any sense of awareness, even by the standard /a/.
But I wasn't able to find her photograph for passports. Help me!
It's pretty sugoi to be sotchokuna onii-chan.
I did like FSN UBW a lot though.
>Nendo instead of Cu-poche
8/10 needs work.
When did it become acceptable to continue endlessly making threads here long after their time? I mean fuck me we didn't even post about Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, or Haruhi to the degree that I see people posting daily threads on other topics with no real discussion.
Obviously I'm not against threads about old topics entirely, hell we have pretty good threads about 30+ year old anime, but "Madoka Thread Post Mami" followed by image spam and fanbase-derived meme spouting isn't exactly what I'd call decent discussion.
There are still Katawa Shoujo generals what the actual fuck.
All that being said I liked it. The visual and music direction was more interesting than anything, and I'm pretty sure that most people who were shocked by how dark it got at times hadn't really watched many magical girl shows before. There was blood sacrifice and suicide in Sailor Moon for God's sake.
>There was blood sacrifice and suicide in Sailor Moon for God's sake.
Also 4000 episodes of inane shit.
It's not that great when you have to wait for a season or two for something good to happen.
I just found the image. Where is that of Uniform Ver?
I love your parody of Keit-Ai.
>When did it become acceptable to continue endlessly making threads here long after their time?
Whenever the first Eva thread was posted on 4chan. We are part of a storied tradition of shitposting and beating dead horses.
It's definitely one of the best anime I've seen.
Probably my most re-watched.
I'm unfazed by the shit threads but it would be nice I'd they were limited or ceased.
Heck, the trip users are still posting with us but just with their trips off.
There's also one who attention whores himself to death and always derails threads by mentioning complicated relationships between him and the other trips.
Also has the habit of posting unnecessary content out of spite that usually covers majority of the thread.
They do actually discuss things in those Eva threads, to some degree. Yes there are shitposting waifuwars threads, but there are also pretty frequently general discussion threads too.
The same goes for Madoka I'm sure, but the vast, vast majority of threads that I've seen lately are to the effect of "I want to Mami Mami's Mamis" and "Sallaka a shit", along with copious irreverent image spam that honestly belongs in /c/.
Not really praising Sailor Moon so much as pointing out that there's always been exceedingly dark stuff in magical girl shows. Madoka never really shocked me to the degree that it did a lot of people when there were shows about magical girls suffering being made in the 90's. Fucking great art and music though, 10/10.
>Where is that of Uniform Ver?
There's no cu-poche of her in uniform yet.
>I love your parody of Keit-Ai. D-domo
It really seem like Eva waifu shitposting always outnumbers actual discussion.
>more originality in their questions
Yeah, who can forget such great questions like "why is Shinji a pussy?" and "just watched EOE and wtf lol?"
I think it was an interesting ride, and I believe it to be a favorite, though I feel as though the show's world or narrative does not lend itself for much more discussion beyond what's already been beaten to death.
Homu did nothing wrong.
>It's been almost five years since Madoka came out
How do I slow time down? I can't take this anymore.
Don't you mean speed up?
Don't bully the frogposter, pity him instead.
No, i loved it at first, but the i've rewatched it and it didn't aged well, depends too much in the tension and the plot twists and once that you know the, it loses all the impact.
Still is a awesome "Just watch once" series
I investigated cultures about guillotines when Rebellion was screened at theaters. I read French opinions in the 18th century guillotines did not cause the patient any pain, though It may be different now. But I heard American condemned criminals who had chosen execution by poison died a painful death, because executioners didn't give them proper poisons. Why did they have no choice to use guillotines?
These threads need to stop.
Nothing to do with Madoka.
Her prequel manga kicked me in the heart guts.
The point was not to care about her.
It is to care about Madoka and Sayaka, who just saw their mentor and idol getting brutally killed.
And you are supposed to care about change to the plot and themes of the show her death set up.
Rewatched the whole thing recently
I think it's getting more emotional with every rewatch, the movie is way more dramatic in the beginning if you know what homura just went through
I don't plan to join the event,
because I hate Nishio.
Sorry. I know you like Monogatari series.
I hope !PMMM will participate in the exhibition. I'll save money for C89.
It's still one of my favorites.
I'm sad about the tripfags infesting our threads.
Is the question necessary? There is a more important issue.
How do you live after the end of Madoka franchise?Night!
I love you, anon.
>But I heard American condemned criminals who had chosen execution by poison died a painful death, because executioners didn't give them proper poisons.
>“Let’s be honest about what’s really going on here. . . . Oklahoma and other States could carry out executions painlessly.” The Supreme Court, he continued, “has held that the death penalty is constitutional.” That’s controversial, he said, and opponents of the death penalty “are free to try to persuade legislatures to abolish death penalty. . . . But until that occurs, is it appropriate for the judiciary to countenance what amounts to a guerrilla war against the death penalty”? It was because of the earlier lethal injection challenges, he suggested, that the states were no longer able to obtain the more reliable drugs.
Any ally of justice would agree that
the death penalty is needed and should be used more often.
Eva threads were all over the place and had a considerable influx of new posters. It's different than making one continuum of generals inhabited by the a virtually static user base.
Catalog and >>133786796 ruined everything. Thanks moot.
>calling out an obvious keyboard mistake
>It's been almost five years since Madoka came out. Do Madokafags still think it's the best anime ever?
It's still my favourite, however I don't force my opinion on anyone.
I love everything of it, I loved it so much that I actually bought the Blu Rays, the manga (the spinoffs as well) and bought a few figs as well.
I can understand if others don't like it that's okay, for it was just everything I was asking for and more.
At this point I'm not even sad that it'll most likely not continue as a finished anime / manga is still better than one that ends with a shitty last seaon.
This is so meta.
Come to think of it. Haven't seen Kevin's usual Sayadumping session a while. Is it because the weather? The warm winter of west coast has finally melted his lonely soul?
Madoka magica is one of best anime .
Ive watched Death note and PSYCO-PASS.
>there will never be more Madoka vidya
Another Madoka mobile game bites the dust. What a shame, these cards are lovely. Any new ones in the work or do we have to wait until season 2?
>plus will die in this christmas
Sad desu senpai. I don't think there's any in developing. Collaboration efforts are still active though.
We got a pair of edgemasters over here.
OFFICIAL AND OBJECTIVE ANIME OF THE DECADE SO FAR POWER RANKINGS
1. Non Non Biyori
4. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
7. Sora no Woto
9. Hidamari Sketch

One poor man's opinion is not official nor objective.
The TV series is honestly a solid 8/10 show but it's place in anime tremendously overrated. The movie is just fucking otaku cash-in nonsense though that arguably works directly against the themes and ideas established in the show for no particular reason but that they really seemed to think it was the twists and fuck yous to the cast that attracted people to the franchise and little else. Aniplex and Gen Urobuchi can't into natural character arcs basically.
It seems like Madoka has largely been eclipsed as the major work of the 10's at least in Japan and South East Asia by Love Live at this point anyway.
That's cause Urobuchi is really really fucking bad at writing characters that aren't just walking blocks of wood with almost zero personality that cover for philosophical concepts. He's arguably getting worse at it since Madoka TV actually did almost manage to have characters you could give a damn about as evolving plausibly human characters that act vaguely like people at times. Then again maybe it was just the performances of the cast covering for how he writes characters and dialogue.
Hi, Arbiter. You are wise. Very wise indeed. I am the emperor as my name field says so and the emperor is above of all. You do switch Madoka and NNB.
Ah, you do put Free! instead of Hyouka also.
The whole suffering thing was really popular on the top of the decade and when you think about it it's almost understandable because we were just coming out of a period largely dominated by sugary moe anime like K-On and whatever Kyoani was doing at the time in general and Aniplex made a really strong play on the whole "Hey look at how cool and edgy all this shit is! We're going to follow this up in a couple years with an anime original called Kill la Kill at Trigger" at just the right time too. People really needed something that was just different from the expected moe moe adventures of cute little girls and Madoka and that shitlord Iwakami exploited that need. Of course they can't really seem to figure out what the next thing to go with after maximum fucking edge is now that the concept is starting to cool off a bit. Cell phone game adaptations maybe?
I actually kinda hate it, because it devalues all other animus of its genre, and fags (aka fans) make it seem like is the best thing in anime.
Madoka is a magical girl anime for dummies, as it explains to you every aspect of it. In other series, they keep it ambigous. Say what you want as to why they keep ot like that (censorship, aimed at younger audience) but i like how they do it.
TLDR, Madoka is not a bad anime. but is not something special because its theme is present in almost any magical girl anime.
Works on the Princess Punt Sweets collaboration seem to have picked up.
A bunch of Madoka Witch stages saw release recently. Maybe they're positioning themselves as the Madoka otaku readies to migrate once again.
