Fucking this. The reason I dropped Pokemon was because ORAS and XY were too full of pandering to Gen 1 for me to like them. References are OK but shitting on the present to hype up the past is not. I gave up on Pokemon when I saw Pokemon GO and the new games being Gen 1 rereleases and smartphone crap instead of Z like they were promising.
YGO does its pandering but at least it's in like 6 cards out of a 70 something set and the cards ended being good petdeck fodder so I didn't care.
But when they butcher their animation budget and dedicate several sets to Gen 1 that's where I draw the line. The thing which would make me give up is if they cancel Arc - V for a DM reboot and nuke all the current archetypes for Nostalgia shit.
Why is it so hard for people to appreciate the past and try new things instead of clinging to it and being cynical to everything else. I get if it's against cancer like MeMe and Majespecters but everything else is bullshit

Well, since rota is at one synchron resonators lost a lot of their consistency (not that they were hyper consistent in the first place), so I suggest using an artifact engine to have disruption + level 5s
you ultimately choose the size of the engine, but something like

doesn't take too much deck space and I think can be powerful. If you want to get more gimmicky, you can max coth, add fiendish chains and magic planters.

another mini-engine that you can consider is ghost ogres + Emergency teleport. they have a great sinergy with the aforementioned artifact engine since 5+3 = 8 and it's a way to bring a tuner on the field without using the normal summon. Ghost ogre doesn't even clog when it's in your hand

IIRC, have we ever seen Sora eat candy while at Academia? It feels like he has only ever done it in Standard and now in the Synchro Dimension, but never in the Fusion Dimension.

Maybe he too only recently started to enjoy candy and sweets, and the reason he eats so much of them is because he never got to before. Considering what he was put through in the episode 80 flashbacks, they probably made sure all the duel soldiers were fit and were really strict about it.

Perhaps its just because Serena was treated more as a prisoner than an actual duel soldier, albeit probably in better conditions than either Rin or Ruri due to her being from the Fusion Dimension.

I honestly don't mind the pokemon nostalgiafagging, I think HG/SS are the best games in the series simply because G/S/C had been the best so far and when they were remade they were only made even better. And ORAS not only was a remake, but also added a lot of stuff I wished had been there in the originals. Hoenn felt kinda claustrophobic to me after the duel regions of Johto and Kanto in gen II, being an isolated island and all. Soar makes you feel a lot more free. And the whole Mauville corporation stuff makes the abandoned ship rumors even weirder. And a lot mroe other stuff, but I'm rambling. Anyway, I love ORAS because it's not a straight up update of the originals, but it uses their setting and story to build something even better. Virtual Console rereleases instead of Z was stupid, though. They won't even be bank compatible.

I don't think you understand the point: ARC-V is gradually declining quality BECAUSE of the Nostagiafag movie.

How else do you explain the fact Zexal UNDENIABLY had a bigger budget than ARC-V ever had? As shit as Zexal was as a series, it clearly had a bigger budget than ARC-V does since there was never any movie draining from it. All the budget could just go into Zexal itself.

GX was different since obviously the budget for DM and GX wouldn't be as much as it is now, yet somehow ARC-V tends to have worse animation than Zexal on average. The fact Cross Over isn't even a proper Action Field proves they don't want to use the budget on Action Fields, nor do they want to pay the VAs too much so that is why all the competitors are seperated (even the ones who weren't forced into the Friendship Cup by the Council, such as Yugo and Yuzu).

I know every YGO has some shitty arc and that ARC-V isn't different, I never said ARC-V was different. DM had the Virtual World, I forget the specifc shitty arc of GX (Seven Stars? Or was it Society of Light?), 5Ds had Crashtown (and most of the stuff after episode 64), Zexal had most of its series outside of a few good moments. ARC-V has the Synchro Dimension arc, with the Friendship Cup basically being used to pad out the arc until Academia invades, and I am certain the Friendship Cup will get interrupted (be it in the semi-finals, the finals, or during the Yuya vs Jack duel).

I just think that it feels so much more obvious now. Maybe the movie was always draining the budget (IIRC, the movie was announced not long after but it just became more obvious with this shitty Synchro arc. Even if the movie drained the budget, Synchro Dimension arc would still be shit. Its just that its more shit than it already was. Zexal's seemed to have better animation on average than ARC-V at the very least. Maybe its just me who thought on average, Zexal had the best animation of all the YGO series even though it worst series when it actually comes to the plot/characters.

Either way, its UNDENIABLE that the movie has been draining from ARC-V's budget to some extent considering that would be the expected thing. It probably happened with 5Ds when Bonds Beyond Time was being made.

I have only read the first 3 volume.
The pacing is damn slow (which hurt more in manga than anime) and the duel is worse than GX/5D's.

Also, most of screen time goes to Yuma and Numbers club. So far its just Yuma vs random scrubs. Shark hasn't done anything yet and Kaito stays in the background.
