NiggaStream's up: http://readms.com/r/shokugeki_no_souma/144/3065/1
All other girls get BTFO vampy-chan confirmed B E S T G I R L
If Eizan loses this, I'm taking a fucking break from this alright.
I can't handle this bullshit weekly no more.
So Eizan actually CAN cook when he gives a shit, but he's hardly if ever been in a Shokugeki? Yet they let him become one of the Elite Ten simply out of bribes? Man, Tootsuki must've gotten corrupt LONG before Azami arrived. To think this would happen under Grandpa Nakiri's nose.
Jesus that scanning quality looks like ass. Why is Niggastream is such fucking shit?
Rindou was confirmed best girl the minute she appeared.
> Rindou shitposting in this thread
If you guys don't have anything to discuss, just let the thread die holy shit.
Oh nice. Some actual criteria about getting into the elite 10.
>Shokugeki record is the first criteria
So how do Soumas achievements stack up to the other 1sy years? He seems to be the only one bothering to fight upperclassmen.
Thoughts on who should voice her?
My money is on Sawashiro
I think we can pin down the reason for Eizans inevitable defeat now.
My guess is that Soumas penchant for experimentation has helped him discover new dishes and flavors no one has ever considered before, and Eizans handsoff approach doesn't allow this. Souma will win because of creativity, originality and love of cooking.
Heck, the final line by Souma is probably going to be something along the lines of "I knew you preferred not to cook. That's how I knew I was going to beat you."
>Chapter is basically the author just going "btw Eizan is really strong you guys"
Fuck you. He better not lose.
I'm calling Shinomiya Mk. II i.e. Soma will initiate guilt trip tactics to stop Eizan from being a fag.
Fucking thank you Eizan. I'd be mad as shit if he wins without planning anything and coming in to this match blind.
For someone supposedly as smart and cunning as him he sure is raising every single loser flag out there and being moronically stupid by acting like this while being broadcasted.
Not that Soma is any better, literally coming here with no plan but muh food and relying on mc plot armor.
>without planning anything and coming in to this match blind.
That just means Souma's victory is secured. He knows fully well that coming in the match, he'll be one on top. All while thinking that Eizan can't and has no motivation to cook.
Eizan is going to lose because of his lack of experience in shokugekis, the same way Kuga lost because of his lack of experience in running a restaurant and Alice lost because she misinterpreted the theme of the shokugeki with Souma.
The moral will be that Eizan could not match someone who devotes his 110% to cooking every day and has been battling it out from day one if he himself spends all his time making the most money possible.
>For someone supposedly as smart and cunning as him he sure is raising every single loser flag out there and being moronically stupid by acting like this while being broadcasted.
this would be valid complain if Aizan was aware of his role as a minor villian character but from his current POV there is no way Souma could win.
I don't think Souma will win this, otherwise it would just make the rest of the E10 look like garbage if Souma can just run in there and take out Eizan without any planning. I think this will end up with the judges tasting both sides dishes, then end up as a draw somehow because of outside interruption and then everything is called off.
Souma losing means he's expelled.
If he's going to do the draw route then it's entirely possible the judges Aizan bribed were scrubs that don't know the difference between good food and really good food so can't decide which is better.
Him acting like a jackass on camera for the entire school to see is stupid. It only serves to undermine him in the future since he is openly portraying himself in a bad light and someone which isn't above bribing.
Because apparently it means MC can actually cook really well when we already knew that.
Honestly, he just shouldn't have hyped up Eizan so much, why did they need the"Eizan is better than the majority of the E10" line?
That's not what the line was saying, it was saying that IF Eizan devoted all his time to cooking and shokugekis he would surely be able to surpass most of the E10, but he doesn't so he's stuck at seat 9.
This is the very reason why he's going to lose to Souma, because his inclusion in the E10 was based on the profits he earned, not his actual battle record.
It's not bad but there certainly is no reason to give a single fuck about it.
His win is predictable and entirely reliant on plot armor and lazy writing in an already boring arc.
>Tosh can never use this character design and others for hentai
SHOKUGEKI NO SOMA WAS A
M I S T A K E
BLUNDER OF THE CENTURY
I meant someone outside will interrupt the shokugeki before the final decision and void it or something. I mean they can't just drop the "if Eizan was serious he would take out a lot of the E10" line and then have him job immediately.
>the same way Kuga lost because of his lack of experience in running a restaurant
Kuga won though, anon. He won overall, and only lost one single day because Souma got help he wasn't even counting on.
He ruined Kuga's bet with Tsukasa by doing this, but by no means did he actually beat Kuga. In fact, Souma grumbled that he didn't think he would lose in business.
I can give you that, it's boring and he shouldn't have hyped Eizan so much, but in reality I don't care, but the fact that Eizan hasn't done a shokugeki for who knows how long? and just getting at top by pulling the strings I think I could eat this "asspull" that Souma wins with his experience in the front lines.
The moral of this entire series is "Don't underestimate the kid who learned to cook by helping his GOAT father in the kitchen"
Fuck people bitching about how M-MUH EIZEN HYPE and MUH CULINARY POWERLEVELS.
Souma has never been an underdog
> People actually trying to defend this shit
This Eizan hype really fucked up the story. Souma cannot be allowed to win this.
I mean, he didn't even do any prep and planning like he did in his other major battles and here he is facing his strongest opponent yet at Tootsuki.
>Eizan is going to lose because of his lack of experience in shokugekis
And what experience would that be? Cooking under pressure? He's still at Tootsuki, which means he got through school trip and other events that test your ability to work in stressful environment. He is also great consultant so analyzing client's requirementsa and fulfilling them can't be a problem.
The way it's built up I'm still convinced Souma is gonna lose and someone is going to pull the strings to prevent expulsion. There was no hype for Souma's dish and his greatest strenght is trying over and over until he finds the perfect formula. We've seen none of that.
After this chapter, I'm thinking Azami shows up and judges the food himself. He then gets super upset that Eizan made worse food than Souma and the judges feel like they HAVE to agree because Azami is the real final bossaru.
The story is just writing itself into making the "MY JUDGING IS MOVING ON ITS OWN" storyline as awful as possible. At least this way Azami is cemented as the bad motherfucker.
I'm getting super tired of thinking either Eizan or Azami are named Aizen and typing that in there, thinking "man, is that correct?" and then checking on a shokugeki wiki
Probably because of that fucking Arc with Erina and mind control shit, then this stupid ass arc with Eizan's scumbaggines. Seriously? getting rid of the shokugeki? Where the fuck is the Director/owner? holy shit the writing is absurd
Fuck the haters, I still like this manga and that is one of the reasons
Eizan's dish is going to be Hainanese chicken rice.
Please tell me someone's made a happy merchant edit of Eizan.
I agree 100% with the whole cooking is all about planning as you can't just simply wing it and hope for the best each time.
Pity it's a villain face so eizan's lost is almost guaranteed. Now we just got to wait for the asspull.
>if the protagonist doesn't lose and drop out of the school I'm taking a break
Really? At this point, his winning is the lesser of two evils. Can you really imagine suffering through MORE drama with him getting expelled, Polar Star getting shut down, and probably its residents expelled too? What would even happen then?
>Souma gets crushed
>Erina willingly goes back to her father to prevent Souma being expelled and to prevent Polar Star being demolished
It's going to happen
>Jou appears at the dorm and gets slightly pissed his son is half-assing everything
>world travel arc
>tfw Azami pulls the same shit.
>Whole of japan trembles at their shokugeki.
>Food orgasm so powerful it can be felt like an earthquake.
Usually for these things Souma plans, though. During his most significant matchups, he's planned for a whle before they go into it. I don't know why people are ignoring the fact that Souma literally had no time, especially knowing that on a whim Eizan could have accelerated the eviction notice. "You didn't plan!" No shit, he COULDN'T have planned. Eizan doesn't have a plan, either. Who the fuck cares? At least Souma's recently been gaining a fuckton of experience, so honestly his victory in actual cooking skills would not surprise me at all.
I dunno, I guess you could call it that? I think his strength is really fearlessness and experience, and they go hand in hand. The former gives rise to the latter. Being okay with failing, learning from his mistakes, and a load of stuff learned from his dad and other things are usually the REAL reason he wins something, along wit big clanging brass balls. Probably the clearest example of everything that makes Souma Souma is the breakfast buffet challenge of the training camp.
Honestly, Eizan is right. Cooking is an activity that requires careful preparation if you really want to do it right.
Souma's great at thinking on his feet and flying by the seat of his pants, but sometimes he doesn't plan things out right and it has cost him before.
Cooking may be a science but there's more to it than carefully planning everything out, and the reason for that is "people's taste". It differs between everyone, so you're probably never going to create something like ambrosia that pleases everyone 100%. You can almost do anything with it and you don't have to go at it with a recipe and a plan every single time.
To please the Rindoufags. I mean she was interesting for the few appearances but now she is just forcefully shoved in every event.
At least give screentime to the other fucking Elite 10.
So is finishing first the extent of Souma's plan? He's hoping the judges will actually eat his food while waiting to eat Eizan's instead of just declaring Eizan the winner and then waiting to eat his food anyway?
Neat, I was beginning to wonder what happened to these awesome scans.
Oh god they're gonna pull this shit aren't they?
>why did I lose
>you need to get SERIOUS about cooking
>I guess I've learned my lesson!
I feel the same way, if Souma fucking wins i'm dropping this series. I used to be excited for every chapter, now it's just so bad I'm going to blow my brains out. Souma is one of the only MCs that I genuinely enjoy watch lose.
>They already pulled it twice
No they didn't. At least, I don't remember them doing so. Shinomiya had something almost similar, but rather than not being serious/being out of practice, it was just that he WAS good, but he had stagnated because France was racist as fuck.
Well, If souma loses and gets expelled even if he curbstomps eizan in cooking, then he will be right on track into the same road his father took.
Then we'll get a flashback about how Jouichirou got expelled.
The suffering arc continues.
And then a world travel arc
>then he will be right on track into the same road his father took.
no he wouldn't
Jouichirou essentially dropped out just before graduation. He is pretty much an alumnus. He also dropped out when he was second seat in the entire school. Dropping out now would be nothing like that.
>Eizan and Soma make more Chinese food
It's okay to pretend like this is the real boss battle after the Kuga arc and Soma is showing off what he learned about spicy food and speed cooking and everything in between never happened, right?
Yeah Shinomiya and King of Stalkers. 'Course it's not exactly the same thing, but it's all a matter of "you lost because there's something wrong with your cooking". As far as I can tell, Eizan's cooking was depicted as flawless in this chapter. If he somehow loses despite that, unless the author has a really good explanation other than "oi I'll admit I'm getting rusty m8" I'll have to call bullshit.
>Did he put some kind of brainwashing-chemical in his gyoza?
I mean considering how the taste of food in this manga is akin to having a thousand orgasms, I would not be surprised if they did get brainwashed by the food
>Would be top tier Elite Ten if he wasn't busy making cash
He's being bigged up so hard. To bad for some reason he has to try to humiliate Souma and will see the error of his judge bribing ways.
Part of good business is to not overreach. He's probably busy enough as it is with how much expanding he's doing. More things at this point might be a hassle or impossible to deal with.
Look at Kuga just trying to move up. It also takes dedication to be in the E10, so he probably thought the dosh that comes with 9th is enough for him to expand his business relations without having to devote too much time to being top three.
> Chapter makes Eizan a lot more likeable for me
> Its the chapter before he get his ass beat
I think a moral victory would be best fit. Souma loses, but the judges are so hype about Eizan's "serious" cooking that they refuse to rig matches anymore so Eizan has to make great food all the time. And then a flood of challenges start pouring in.
>Judge: I'm pretty hungry but I can't eat his dish
>Judge: Wait all I have to do is eat it and say it's shit
>Judge: HOLY FUCKNUGGETS this is so good my clothes are being ripped out and I can't stop this monologue on how good this fucking dish is. 10/10. 10 points to Gryffindor.
>Souma: Inadequate Service
Reminder that this is future top 3 of the Elite Ten.
He is not getting rusty, but by his own words most of the customers aren't cooking specialists.
I interpret that as him setting himself (possibly unconscionably) with an upper limit in cooking quality that he does not need to cross to make money so he doesn't bother.
Probably, for him, anything above certain quality wouldn't produce more profits.
Whereas Souma doesn't have such self-imposed limit.
Yes, MC Plot Armor. The next few chapters will decide if Tsukuda can continue this story or if it will end as one of the biggest trainwrecks ever.
I hope it ends this way:
>Soma looses and even Rindo says Eizan's dish was far superior
>Eizan pissed off behind oblivion that Soma still didn't loose his optimism makes him an offer
>If you kneel before me and beg me for forgivness i won't close PSD and you and your little friends can stay. Also you will become my henchman and do everything i tell you to. What do you say?
>Isshiki finally shows himself and explains how he didn't interfere in all of this because it was an important lesson for Soma about the difference in strength
>Isshiki vs Eizan happens with the rewards to save PSD and Soma for Isshiki and the 7th seat for Eizan
I think my main problem is
What's stopping Eizen from going through with everything even if he loses?
This arc is trying to be really high stakes and serious but seems to forget the inherent problem with trying to have high stakes and seriousness in a manga where disputes are settled with cooking.
>Why would Souma even top the academy in his year class when he has no talent and only hard work when his peers have both talent and hard work?
I see you didnt understand the Autumn election finale
>Erina is so shit she can't even beat a lazy Eizan in cooking
They're expecting in a shounen manga someone with godlike powers that can turn the food into something never seen.
They're forgetting not all is done with "natural talent", but with hard work as well, forgive me for reminding you of this other manga, but Naruto is the perfect example.
I don't know what you're expecting, anon, there's a very blatant reason Soma can't lose- expulsion is on the line. With the status quo of Soma's attendance, any time it becomes an "expulsion" thing Soma is guaranteed to win.
Fighting the system, proving his ideals, and
the cruel reality that keeping fan favorite characters consistently around means they all have to be in school, which is unlikely if Soma is expelled.
>people still don't realize that Takumi is a late bloomer
>people still deny that he's gonna be Souma's Gin
Just you wait.
>I don't think Souma will win this
He has to or else he's expelled and the dorm gets shut down
>otherwise it would just make the rest of the E10 look like garbage
Eizan is 9th, who gives a shit. His story has run its course and the manga has reduced him to a stereotypical mustache twirling villain now and honestly this entire arc had made the E10 look like garbage just for siding with Aizan.
I am sure Kuga is the weakest Elite Ten.
He was first E10 member to technically lose on screen. He has that loud and annoying personality that only weaklings have. He also jobbed in the flashback to hype up Eishi.
Sure, he's got a few parallels with Souma
but so did Takumi ;^)
Can anyone post the page from a while back where they claimed that the Allied PoWs from WW2 who complained that they were forced to eat tree roots by the IJA were just stupid because they didn't know how to eat root vegetables unlike the Japanese?
No weakest link is obiously Kuga. Rindou a.k.a 3rd year 2 seat confirmed it's all about him being serious. I say his best dish would be toe-to-toe against 3rd or 4th seat on shokugeki.
