Not everyone does but mainly for the amplified iyashikei and emotions. Each season is the perfect one-two punch combo that draws you in with the faster pace and comedy that primes you for the payoff of season 2 once you've become attached to the characters and seen them establish their band. The proper way is to value them both as 2 parts of a whole.

Deus Ex Machina of Mugi's family being both ultra-rich and owning a music store was weak as fuck. Girls never seemed to struggle or make sacrifices to practice their music. Tea scenes were boring shit. "blob" animation like OP's pic are annoying.
