There's nothing wrong with having a desire, any desire. Unfortunately, if it's a desire you can't act on, that can cause heartache for you, and if it's a desire you shouldn't act on, it can cause problems for others.

You're likely to end up killing a lot of people and justifying your actions by saying "Greater good".

Ironically more will have died than if you just did nothing, since the world really hates those people who say they can commit any atrocities they want in the name of justice if they claim they're saving more in the long term, so it doesn't matter what they do in the short term.

It also leads you don't a path of inhumanity and no real salvation for anyone.

There's basically a few thousand ways to fuck it up, and its guaranteed you will eventually reach a choice with no good answer, that will incite you to fuck it up, and commit some atrocity.

Everyone you pull out of a burning building or save from drowning is just as saved as anyone you save from a human villain, and you don't have to kill anyone.

Saving those nearby that are in trouble, that are in danger, that need active help, that's not so bad. You probably won't fuck that up. They do need help, you can verify that, and doing it is possible. Just save those in front of you when they're in trouble, but don't root your entire existence around it in a sense.

If you make your entire existence about saving people, and you try to align yourself to some grand ideal like "Saving humanity" even when there's no real end goal to be achieved.

You basically are certain to fuck that up.

At that point you aren't looking to help people, rather you are that thing Kotomine warned Shirou he was the first time they met. You're someone who needs people to be in trouble, to justify your existence.

Everything about it is too hazy and disordered. There's no meaning or ending, you are seeking the action rather than the outcome.

There are entire distinctions and warps to Shirou's ideals.
