Nice game, but one thing I notice is a lot of people seem to often open their hand for kans. This is not a good idea in 99% of the cases.

Benefits from opening your hand for a kan:
- Slidely more fu points, which usually won't increase your hand value much

Downsides from opening your hand for a kan:
- You can't score riichi, ippatsu, menzen tsumo, ura dora, plus serval yaku have a lower value when open. This can decrease your hand value A LOT.
- You take away your option to split the kan into a pair and a triplet, limiting the speed of your hand (obviously not an issue, when the hand is far enough that this isn't an option anymore)
- You decrease the defensive potential of your hand, as you lose 3 tiles that might well be safe discards later on
- You give your opponents some inside into your hand making it easier for them to deduce which tiles they should avoid to deal.

Conclusion: Only do this in some very special cases, e.g. when aiming for San Kantsu.

With a hand this high calling riichi is a bad idea, because your only concern should be to finish it as soon as possible, not to increase the value further, and calling riichi will hinder this, since it will likely make your opponents go into betaori.
As a rule of thumb, if you have mangan or higher, don't call riichi. Doing so is a common beginners mistake.

It depends, I usually pon dragons because it's good you can just call tiles without worrying about yaku. Basically good for cheap quick win, if you need points it's not that great. As for winds it depends on my hand, usually I'll just keep them as a pair unless I already have some way to get yaku with an open hand.

As I usually say, it depends on the situation. It depends on your current hand, the position you're in, your score, your objectives, etc. If you're South and aiming to bump the East then pon it and go for the quick yakuhai. If it's midgame and you're in a tight spot or someone else had already riichi'd then you'd better throw them as safe tiles. A lot of things hang over your decision on what you will do on that round. It's also a different situation if the yakuhai are the doras.
