I found it more than alright. Good story, good characters, good dialogue. The VA for the two main girls sound way older than the characters they're playing but it's probably on purpose. It looks a bit weird at first but you quickly forget it.

This is a movie prequel to some live-action movie from 2004. There is a manga adaptation of this, the 2015 movie, by Douman Seiman, who is Japanese. The lie about the salaryman being her father made me wince a bit, but it sort of tied back to the whole deal with her actual father, so I could take it.
