I'm not mad Chihiro won, I'm mad the ending completely ignored half the fucking cast that was still relevant and leaves half the series open ended. My only hope is that there's a UQ Holder equivalent eventually (though I don't actually follow that, from what I understand it actually tries to resolve more of Negima).

Why did it bother? The lead up was so bad, it wouldn't matter anyway. At least Chihiro made the most sense.

Because she got no proper romantic development to lead to such a conclusion. Tenri wasn't trying to win Keima's heart and Keima never displayed anything hinting at romantic feelings. Weird so much as spent on her toward the ending just to make it clear she wasn't the one and give her a chump ending.
