This, the 1993 OVA at least (haven't seen the 2000 yet), was actually really good, which is vaguely surprising given how popular it's become to shit on it. Only major critique I have is that it's probably more or less incomprehensible without having read the manga, but the primary complaint I keep seeing from Jojo fans is that it wasn't wacky enough and that it thus it didn't feel like Jojo (which probably has a lot to do with people getting into it through the new anime so the new anime is Jojo to them). People get too stuck on the "Bizarre" portion of the title in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and much of what makes the new anime so bizarre seems to have less to do with the source material, the weirdest of which such as Stands and psychic dogs, were transferred into the OVA, and more to do with various things that weren't and couldn't have been in the original manga due to the nature of the medium (intentional overacting 24/7, neon colors everywhere in an adaptation of something that was originally black and white, visible onomatopoeias rendered far, far more noticeable than they ever were in the manga). The tension as Dio chased down Joseph and Kakyoin was amazing; then I read that Satoshi Kon directed that episode and its quality immediately made sense.
I liked the OVA before the new anime existed. I hadn't read the manga though, because I couldn't stand the shitty scans, so I didn't know exactly how much of the story it was missing. Now that I know, it's definitely missing way too much, but it turns out that the original had a lot of boring fillerish shit that could easily be cut anyway, just not the extent that the OVA did. An ideal version would be an edit halfway between the two.
I rewatched the final episode of the OVA just the other day and I'm gonna say it actually did the final better than the new anime, it was a lot more exciting. When Jotaro walks out of the flames to confront Dio, it's just glorious. And I appreciate how Dio's design was a bit toned down in that version (no green lipstick or super saiyan hair), though I don't care for his old guy voice.
That's one thing I don't really like about the TV anime, it's like they cared more about fanservice of the manga than making a decent series, the visible sound effects and color changing shit was just obnoxious most of the time
No scan yet but Joshuu was just confirmed playable in EOH.
It's nice and all but what the hell, where's Yasuho?
Yeah, the source is trustworthy. We're getting a simultaneous reveal of Josuke, Joshuu, Anasui, and "Pucci waiting for the time of new moon".
Yasuho and FF where? They weren't in the NPC list either.
Absolutely unrelated to JoJo, but I just ate bacon for the first time in my life. Oh my God.
I was vegetarian from a young age, but a few months ago I discovered that NOT EATING MEAT = USELESS.
That sounds wrong.
Not seeing it.
OVAfags have become more cancerous than secondaries, jesus fucking christ fuck off with your whiny bullshit DP destroyed your shit OVA and there's nothing you can do about it but circle jerk with the 2 other people that think that piece of shit was better than the anime. Fucking get over it or kill yourself already.
Still better than DP's DIO's World. They ruined the most important fight in the whole manga.
The OVA is SHIT, just like your OPINION and your LIFE. Now go be an ignorant autist somewhere else.
>comparing Blu-rays where they completely re-did facial features to T.V. release
DP Part 3 had a lot of quality especially at the end but you're just making retarded comparisons.
I will do it until you realize the
The OVA wasn't a good adaption of the manga either, but at least it's better than the anime. Why couldn't we get a good studio instead of shitty David Productions?
At least we won't have to worry about part 6 Jotaro DLC as well.
It does look a little like his part 6 appearance, but not entirely.
Well, from what I recall the only time they'd really get a chance for such a thing would be against Pucci, and Pucci was made to be fucking untouchable and impossible to beat so we can't have that.
I remember when the first real Jojo anime came out
I couldn't believe my eyes, nor could I believe those hilarious gg subs that fit so well with all the exaggerated yelling and drama that got me pumped up through the entire first episode. I smiled like an idiot throughout the whole first season.
then people like OP try and ruin a perfectly good series by shitting all over it with their ideals that they think should overtake what everyone knows and loves to be canon and the root of the source material.
Do the math yourself and you'll see I'm right.
But how can it be the truth if it's wrong?
>Only major critique I have is that it's probably more or less incomprehensible without having read the manga, but the primary complaint I keep seeing from Jojo fans is that it wasn't wacky enough and that it thus it didn't feel like Jojo (which probably has a lot to do with people getting into it through the new anime so the new anime is Jojo to them).
People already shat on the OVA way before the new anime came out. It actually seems to be more popular than before.
You are also retarded if you think the new series isn't A LOT closer to the source material.
She still has more moves than Joshuu though. I thought they'd be revealed together.
>Still no FF
>Game releases in less than a month
DAMMIT CC2. She better be in there, she's literally perfect for it. I don't see how Yasuho would fit since her Stand just gives her the best outcome for the predicament that she's in.
I have been 100% positive that Yasuho would get in and I thought Joshuu would be possible.
But here's no Joshuu and no Yasuho in sight.
Could there be three part 8 characters?
Does this mean Yasuho won't be in?
Man, i'm in shock.
Since Araki is supervising, he'll probably include the moves he's imagining for Joshuu in the game staff's suggestions. Remember that Joshuu is in a fight right now in the manga, so next month he'll probably use some of those attacks.
There is online. No local confirmed yet, but there was a split screen glitch that happened to Vish while he was playing the second demo this summer.
Since when does turning into goop and going down a drain count as being in a fight?
Unless he somehow uses Nut King Call to escape from the pipes, I think the fight is going to be only Gappy+Hato VS Damo.
That split screen looks intentional as fuck since it has a golden line when Kakyoin and Jotaro/Kars and Dio taunt/power up, the game isn't freaking out either. It looks that feature was just locked away until full release.
That's all I needed. Thanks anon.
Only about 10% of the cast is Non-Stand I think Wekapipo would be just fine.
His main shtick would work really well for this type of game since you're blind to half the screen you won't see what's coming.
>>Stand not meant for fighting
It has punched things and twisted a guy's ankle 180 degrees. You could also bring in PMK to help like with Hol Horse and Hanged Man. If we can have people like Speedwagon included then that's good enough.
that says so far, buddy
don't lose hope yet
I know this is unrelated, but does anyone have a method of getting rid of wooden splinters without tweezers? I don't know what the fuck happened last night but I hit my toe and a wood chip got caught on the side near the nail.
What the fuck is going on with this thread?
Not super-glue or anything like that, but just ordinary craft glue. The kind kids use for craft projects.
Apply to the splinter, let it dry, then peel it off. It'll bring the splinter with it.
There's a bunch of shit you could try.
Found this on google.
>Wacchan working so hard for fujobucks only to have his favorite role replaced by Jewbro
>Yasuho ignored in favor of suffering incarnate for EoH
>captcha: sun umbrellas
What's the point of hope.
This is like that Simpsons episode where they try to get gum out of Lisa's hair. Glue, really?
What if there was a stand whose power was filling anyone it touched with splinters?
Like, a punchghost that punches you right in the face and leaves the area it punched full of pointy wood for extra pain.
Tried the warm water but it didn't loosen at all. Shit.
Probably gonna try all these throughout the day, at least until I can buy a pair of tweezers. You guys are the best.
My trypophobia is acting up again
You ate bacon for the first time, too? I bought some strips yesterday and fried them up. Bacon in my country is really expensive, but it was totally worth it.
It surprised me how easy, fast to make and good bacon is. The internet was right for once, bacon is totally awesome.
These plus Part 4 Jotaro, Bruno, Diavolo, Trish, Anasui, New Moon Pucci, Part 8 Josuke, and Joshuu. The +1 is the non-playable Heaven Dio.
Using a Jojo image doesn't make it Jojo discussion. Go away.
I want to
you know the drill, disc, boil, extract brainF.F.
There's a Joestar offspring in Brazil, guys.
Koichi's hair better be bluer than the key art. That shit was so plain.
You've been missing from the last few threads, what happened?
I got a job and changed my sleeping schedule, I can't come on here as often anymore.
>Jonathan, Speedwagon and Jotaro
If the next video is Kakyoin, it's safe to assume it'll be followed by Josuke, Okuyasu, Giorno, Bruno or Mista, Jolyne, Hermes, Johnny, Gyro, Gappy and Joshuu in that order.
I somehow forgot about Part 2 entirely.
There goes my theory, fuck me.
The 2000 portion is pretty much the Pre-Egypt section abridged.
I sorta liked that a little better than the 1993 Egypt story honestly
A bit odd how they decided to do the Egypt part firat and then do the Pre-Egypt stuff later
I reckon it'll roughly follow the evolution of his hair in the manga, maybe becoming a more vibrant blue/yellow later on.
Let's assume that there is still one reveal left before the release next month (17th iirc).
From ASB there's only one character left: Baoh.
Major characters from their parts missing:
- Abbacchio: Still not deconfirmed.
I'd say that they are done with Part 5 but there was a gap between most of the gang's reveal and Bruno/Diavolo/Trish.
- Foo Fighters: Still not deconfirmed
- Hot Pants: NPC
- Sandman: NPC
- Wekapipo: Still not deconfirmed but it seems they are done with SBR reveals.
- Yasuho: Still not deconfirmed but doesn't seem likely if they're going with Joshuu and his nephew is a NPC.
- Kyo: Still not deconfirmed.
- Yotsuyu: NPC
Also, the 53+1 thing confirms or deconfirms Doppio as playable?
>Also, the 53+1 thing confirms or deconfirms Doppio as playable?
I doubt he is, but it's impossible to tell. If he's playable then the +1 stands for Part 4 Jotaro, if he's not playable then that means Part 4 Jotaro is included in the 53 and the +1 stands for Heaven Dio.
Absolute confirmed roster (without Doppio due to ambiguity, and without P4 Jotaro to account for the +1) so far is

which totals out to 48+1. If you add Part 8 Josuke and Joshuu, who were revealed today, that's 50+1.
Now the magazine is telling us 53+1 so far, that's still three characters unaccounted for. If we assume Heaven DIO and Doppio are playable, there's only one character missing.
So basically, it's very likely that Doppio is in. No idea about the missing character though.
Reminder that there's still the two mystery characters from the tournament.
Unless they're among the last 7 that were revealed. But if they were just going to be revealed in a magazine, what was the point of hiding them?
Unless japs usually do disappointing shit like that.
Waste of a fucking steak.
There's no need to pussyfoot around, go rare or go home. You might as well make the damn thing well done if you're already dead set on ruining it.
Goddamn this, and often times when I order medium rare it's fully fucking cooked.
Ordering it rare means at the very worst it'll be medium rare, its just the smart way to order meat.
Yeah Whitesnake and C-Moon are two different stands, while Killer Queen has to essentially jumble around its move input along with the different GHA/DHA just to make for two separate characters.
Still, we have a roster full of the same characters now. It's pretty disappointing.
For me it's the exact opposite.
Every place I go, if I order medium rare it comes fucking raw squirting blood everywhere like it was chopped off the animal minutes ago.
It's like I have to order well-cooked every time if I don't want to eat something that doesn't taste like it came straight off the cooler into the plate.
Or maybe I just eat at shit places. Could be.
>we can assume Josuke will be in if they're revealing Joshuu
uh, weren't we already assuming that when he was front and center on the cover of the game?
>Only way to become MiH Pucci is to DHA with both Pucci's, only to have each player control a randomised half of Pucci
Scans are out.
FF is part of a baseball mini game where you play catch with her.
Emporio is a NPC.
The green baby is part of the story.
Jobin is part of a rhythm mini game involving beetle fighting.
Yasuho is part of a old-school rpg like mini game where you progress through the city choosing between two items to deal with a situation.
jk lmao :^)
>can't even spell the name of his favourite Dio
As expected of a Diegofag
Rating Heaven DIO now is like rating Part 9's JoJo.
>Designed by Araki
>Written by Araki
Nope, and not only is that the most important part but Araki only has a supervisor role only over the entire production.
I bet you think Jorge is cannon too because Araki supervised it, punk.
reaching HEAVEN was always DIO's plan, Pucci just tried it because he was sad that his vampire bud wasn't around to ream his asshole anymore, and he managed to fuck it up and get got by a kid
HEAVEN DIO is probably the result of DIO acquiring all the corpse parts. since corpse parts redirect all bad things, he'll "know" that only good things await in the future. per DIO's diary, "knowing with complete confidence what is to come" is HEAVEN
>full story mode of you collecting all the corpse parts so you can stop DIO >at the last second, he takes them all and turns into HEAVEN DIO and you fight him for all of 5 minutes
If you watched DP's previous work, SC is actually quite amazing. Heck, even compared to the 2012 anime it's already a lot better. Things actually moved (Though yeah, the last few episodes are shit).
>B-but heaven DIO isnt a oneshot OC because he was made by Araki.
>What do you mean he wasn't written by Araki? Nice strawman.
Is choking on DIO's cock blinding you from reading, or are you just this stupid?
He implied that considering Heaven DIO to be canon was the same as considering Jorge's DIO as canon since both are overseen by Araki but not written by him.
I don't hate Heaven DIO, the character isn't even out yet but there's no way he's surpassing the regular DIO in terms of writing.
my understanding is that most people watched the part 1 anime before they ever read the manga, and the anime both says hamon aloud (obviously) and says hamon in the subs
since people read part 7 first, they likely never saw kaiten written anywhere, and obviously didn't hear it spoken
One thing that still pisses me off greatly is when Star Platinum is beating the ever loving shit out of Steely Dan and sends him flying....there is a massive sound delay from hitting the bricks to him screaming.
Small shit like this irked the entire anime series.
Joshuu being in is great because if they do it correctly his abrasive personality will really stand out in a fight, but there's no reason he should have made it in before Yasuho.
Gunmetal Globe Gallop = Dazzling Draft > Too Little Too Late Too Lion > Pebble Pond = Crumbly Comet Campaigners > Resilient Rhinestone = Dispute Disposition > Hobgoblin Hemoglobin
it's just to imply he wasn't killed even after all that, anon
get mad about the DIO OP being broken and The World's arms appearing before they're supposed to in the punch barrage if you have to
It's a mistranslation. SteelBallJack seems to do hurried translations with no proofreading so they've get all sorts of weird mistakes. Check out every other scan, they all say "supervised by".
He did win either way, but if he wasn't in the sea I guess he would have woken up early and tried to attack and drink Joseph's blood earlier. If he won, he would have had to move on to the Pillar Men and defeat them too (there can only be one ruler).
gravity would've pulled him and enya together that much sooner, but ultimately it would play out similarly to part 3 - DIO would get a stand from enya, joseph and lisa would develop stands by extension, they'd thrash the pillar men because as we all know, pillar men are useless shitters in the face of stands (which they can't see or touch), then go after DIO since caesar knew about DIO and hated him
DIO would kill caesar in a climactic battle where he would simultaneously pop all caesar's bubbles, joseph would use ball breaker (his stand, not gyro's) to shred DIO
It would have been identical to Part 3 since he'd have The World.
The real question this hypothesis brings up is DIO vs Kars at base levels (no Joestar blood or Red Stone of Aja).
oh shit my bad. george would get a stand, which would ultimately allow him to destroy the zombie who DIO sent after him.
then george, joseph, lisa, and caesar would form the main crew, and they'd all go after DIO together
That's the only time they did that and that was near the reveal of the whole game, so of course there would be a certain amount of character blowout. Recent scans have all revealed only a certain amount of characters from one part at a time.
whatever you say
>Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe: Explosive Dreams
As he is visiting France for inspiration, Rohan hears about 4 mysterious explosions that took the life of many civilians and decides to investigate. Could stand users be behind this act!?
some parts have a distinct theme; for example part five revolves heavily around "fate" and accepting it, what other central themes would you give to the other parts?
Part 1 is all about the connection between DIO and Jonathan
Part 2 is about the power of life and nature
Part 3 about fate again, but maybe also the value of being around people you trust
No idea about Part 4
Part 5 is about fate again.
Part 6 is about fate yet again.
Part 7, fate always screws you over.
Part 8, Joshuu is best guy.
he counts in primes when he's nervous.
Diavolo just spilled some noodles so he might be flustered
So, how does Alt-Diego's horse move through stopped time with him?
this never fails to give me a good chuckle
Santana - Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
mood manipulation. can make others feel emotions (for example, making his enemy feel defeated in battle) and can also make others temporarily forget about the cause of their emotions (ie. they're mad about him killing their buddy, but he makes them forget that he killed their buddy, leaving them confused about why they're angry)
Wamuu - Careless Whisper
gives him actual wind powers, an evolution of his spinning arms. can conjure up tornadoes and such from a distance instead of just from within his own body, also uses it in more creative ways (like removing all the air from someone's lungs when they open their mouth)
Esidisi - Back in Black
this is primarily a growth of his self-destruct ability, it's a post-death stand. after he explodes, his stand is born as an all black version of him with similar powers, but based on the icy chill of death instead of the burning heat of life
Kars - Moving in Stereo
light-based powers allow him to create hardlight clones of himself (although they only possess his pillarman abilities, not his Ultimate Kars abilities)
this one? They're both great
anime was more faithful, OVA had more bucks behind it
OVA really knocked The Emperor&The Fool, D'Arby Sr and DIO's World out of the park
The anime had more funstuff that makes Jojo feel unique:
Iggy vs Petshop
Oingo Hol Horse
I can't wait for all the Parts it uses pics from to get animated, so we can finally have this in motion. Probably one of my favorite JJBA videos.
That's why the knives didn't touch Jotaro when DIO threw them.
As for the horse, let's say The World allows you to let someone enter your world.
and because riding a horse is cool
part 1 - good can never truly wipe out evil, but to be good is to continue fighting evil in the face of inevitable failure
part 2 - man's domination over nature is tenuous at best, but we're in too deep to relinquish our grasp now, so we must keep beating it back as it strives to take back the earth from us
part 3 - the surest factor in the outcome of a fight is not the strength of the combatants, but their will to win (jotaro won because he never considered losing to be a viable outcome, whereas dio was constantly terrified of losing)
part 4 - idk, karma?
part 5 - fate is inevitable, but those who accept and embrace it can lead fulfilling lives, while those who attempt to escape it will be haunted by it until the day they die
part 6 - it's impossible to ever be truly prepared for the future to come, but accepting the chaos and uncertainty that life brings is what gives it excitement and flavor
part 7 - whether known or unknown, all our actions in life are a subconscious effort to find a place that's comfortable and secure enough to call home
part 8 - the number of nuts you have is directly correlated to how cool you are
Unless he's full dino it's on par with monstergirl.
Scans when? Every other game already had their scans leaked.
I would have never guessed that this miserable creature is supposed to be a wolf if they hadn't said it. Araki can draw beautiful people and horses but draws this thing instead of a wolf. Why?
What really gets me is the fact that all tumblr fujos doing this without agreeing in advance. Like each of them independently think that this looks good, like a retarded hive mind.
He did the same thing he did during the 'who shot Johnny' arc.
Is there a name for this "trope"? Tamami shrinking down to child-size after being "defeated"?
>no confirmation on SBR/JJL universe being the post-Stone Ocean universe
Finally a non-stupid theory. I'd actually be okay with this.
I have a question on Bites the Dust: So when Kira first gets it it's after he killed Hayato in the bathroom, then he was pierced with the arrow, right? And then the morning after Hayato is alive and Kira is all high with his newfound power, heavily implying Kira used Bites the Dust to reverse time. Yet wouldn't Hayato still die due to the rule of 'fate' with Bites the Dust? The sequence of events here confuses me and I want to know if I'm missing anything here.
Someone should do something with a gag from Mulaney's new Netflix special. That or the What's New Pussycat story.
ITS LEGIT GUYS
Oh please, he'll come back as DLC.
To this day I still can't process the fact this guy does Koizumi
