Josuke and Jotaro look nice. Okuyasu definitely doesn't.
The Japanese word for "exceuse me" is "shitsurei". Shi is a possible pronunciation of the number 4, tsuu is the Japanese pronounciation of the English word "two" and rei is 0.
420, make number puns every day.
>Rohan is no longer voiced by Araragi.
>Voiced by Meme instead.
Post songs that fit a fight in JoJo, not by any artist involved in the fight itself.
Funny Valentine v.s. Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli
>Character Design: Terumi Nishii
Jōsuke Higashikata: Yuuki Ono (Wataru Hatano in the All-Star Battle and Eyes of Heaven games)
Kōichi Hirose: Yuuki Kaji (Romi Park in the games)
Okuyasu Nijimura: Wataru Takaki (returning from the games)
Rohan Kishibe: Takahiro Sakurai (Hiroshi Kamiya in the games)
Jōtarō Kūjō: Daisuke Ono
Josuke and Rohan were perfect in ASB so i'm not happy about that. Also, Yuuki Kaji as Koichi? I guess i'll have to trust DP's decisions i guess. It turnet out fine for Stardust Crusaders.
>Josuke: Yuuki Ono
Dude's good, I expect good things.
>Koichi: Yuuki Kaji
>inb4 Yuuki Kaji
If he played it right he could do it. I'd prefer him voicing wimp characters instead of hotheaded characters.
>Rohan: Takuhiro Sakurai
>Implying Sakurai isn't an A list VA
Man Yuuki Kaji as Koichi has me a little worried. I'm sure he'll play the role well, but I'm really not sure he'll suffice when Koichi goes super saiyan. It's a shame, Romi Park would have been absolutely perfect for both hotblooded/panicky and stone cold badass Koichi.
I just hope Kaji surprises.
Rohan will probably sound strange at first too.
here's the juicy shit (and it's already english)
Is Jouji Nakata actually confirmed as Pucci in Eoh or are you pulling my leg?
Fuck, that would be so amazing.
They didn´t keep more than perfect voices from ASB. Just fucking kill me, i am never going to hear this.
What´s the fucking point ?
Sorry, my point was that they already took the link down. Either they posted a press release early and had to delete it or they got trolled.
Either way I'll just wait until Ultra Jump comes out or whatever. It should be soonish.
I just wanna live in denial until tomorrow.
Waiting very patiently for best part to get animated
>Carrera being Gyro's Descendant
>Gyro actually having a descendant that could come into play later on in the story
I would a bet a safe amount of money this could happen, the guy was 24 and got shwifty with his patients.
I like him a lot as in Nozaki-kun, Nichibros, Hataraku and Junketsu no Maria. You might know him also from Souma or Kuroko no Basket (I don't watch them though, so I can't say anything about the characters he voiced) He does have a good hot-blooded voice. I'm not saying he's better than Hatano though.
>What the fuck was even wrong with ASB Josuke? Why is Okuyasu same?
Just David being David. I'm still mad they replaced Hirata as Polnareff.
My pipe dream voice for Koichi is Megumi Ogata. Mainly because of pic related.
>ASB/EoH josuke gone
just dorara my shit up
Dude, all i want, all i need to be happy is Josuke´s, Okayasu and Kira´s VAs from ASB. I can somehow survive anyone else, just not these 3, they are fucking perfect.
I have no idea what any of these anime are. His stand rush certainly won´t be as good as Wataru.
Well i am asking why they kept perfect Okayasu same and removed perfect Josuke. That´s not fucking fair. Fucking David how could they do this to us ?
I bet they hired "attractive" VA for Josuke just for fujos.
WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUCK WAS THE POINT IN REPLACING HER
IM NOT TRYING TO WATCH ATTACK ON FAGGOTS DAVID
I can already feel a ton of character coming from Okuyasu in this shot. I have a feeling it will be animated a lot smoother than SC because of the looser art style as well.
I like it.
>Everybody is sitting here bitching about Japanese VAs
>Fucking /Japanese/ VAs
>You can't even tell what they're saying
>Or if they're good actors or not
>If the general tone of their voice is right, who gives a fuck
I guess I must just be a casual. Back to /v/ for me
huh. I swore Part V was three years after Part IV.
Either way, ASB and VA had two very different interpretations of Giorno, so I don't see why we can't have two different interpretations of Koichi.
Still, kind of weird how it's Johnny.
Replacing Hatano and Paku was fucking shit, Ono Yuki is good but he'll make Josuke sound like a delinquent most of the time. I think I can deal with Sakurai as Rohan but it'll take the time.
Hatano's career is full of fujobait and otome games, though. And he ain't bad looking either.
Jolyne is still going to have Miyuki Sawashiro right guys? Right?
Speak for yourself, asscrack. I know plenty japanese because I didn't want to be a scanlator/subbers drone. And if you can't tell good voice acting because of the language, then I'm sorry you're really a retard.
>Wataru Hatano gets home
>he is tired
>forced to play clown for fujos
>fujos demand from him to always do the thing
>but at least he knows
>they are not going to take Josuke from him
>only role he truly enjoy
>role he had to work hard for
>all these years suffering in fujo roles
>it´s fucking David
>they tell him he is getting replaced for so no-one
Fucking kill me.
I can deal with Part 4's casting, especially since Okuyasu is the same, but holy shit if they replace Jolyne.
Yuki Ono is actually a good casting decision. He's probably just as good as Wataru Hatano, but slightly younger sounding, which is good considering Josuke's character is 16. Keep in mind that Nozomu Sasaki's Yusuke also sounded very young, but rebellious.
It's safe to assume that it's a perfect casting.
He can give word for him, right ? Right ? Based Sugita can fucking save this with his influence and radio talkshows.
Remember when Sugita BTFO VAs that bullied some rookie ?
>delinquency = autism
I think we've strayed a little too far from reality here. Even Bosozoku in Japan are generally very charismatic guys who talk frequently and in a familial way.
>hating on johnny joestar
should have kept romi park tho
In nip or what? I never touched the RAWs, but Jotaro barely speaks and when he does he does sound like an asshole, Josuke can be an asshole but he's more "fresh", I can't even find a proper word, fuck. I'll have to get used to it, Ono is nice so it'll probably work somehow in the end.
I don't know if you'd call it fitting, but there was only one song in my head when I read this part of Scary Monsters. It'd probably be a good ED for SBR too.
I really hope that Koichi's VA change to Yuki Kaji does not mean that Romi will go back to voice Giorno in Part 5. That would be horrid. Namikawa is perfect as Giorno like Koyasu is to Dio.
There's only a few songs that, in my mind, feel right as SBR ED's
Season 1 ED
Season 2 ED
And of course, if SBR (being as long as it is) spanned three seasons, it'd only be right that they have Roundabout as an ED, or at least plays during this moment
I hope I'm not the only one who absolutely loves this art style.
Look at that character and expression exuding from Okuyasu. Look at how dynamic his body language is. Look at the colour. THE COLOUR! My God, Josuke's clothes are dark purple and pink instead of black and grey like Jotaro's were! You can just feel how much more smooth and lively the animation will be! It's fucking beautiful!
Where were you when David finally made the JoJo anime fabulous?
>that cartoony shading compared to SC
>mfw we won't get another motion comic
Koichi's hair better be more blue in the final product
Not completely. We're up to "The Grateful Dead - Part 8".
Damn, I didn't even notice. What's with the J? It's supposed to be a dolphin.
>For what fucking purpose? If they replace Kira too the whole anime is confirmed shit.
It's not "changing VAs" when they never set them in the first place. They've already shown with Stardust Crusaders that they don't care about the games' VA choices. I don't see why people are so surprised again.
>Damn, I didn't even notice.
Shit, now I noticed it.
Jotaro has the heart hat at the very beginning of Part 4
If you ask me, now the art looks sorta childish? Like look at part 1-2 and 3, it's like they shifted completely to a generic comedy anime artstyle or something
I'm bad at explaining things, basically it doesn't look like jojo
That's his replacement hat after Josuke fucked his first one up. Can't explain the kissing dolphins though.
Fug, anime will catch it before I can read a proper scanlated part 5
Araki is adding and removing random symbols and trinkets to different characters all the time. Sometimes it's a Dolphin, sometimes it's weird gender symbols, sometimes it's nothing. In some panels the hand trinket is replaced by a heart, or is a circle, or is a heart with a hand on it.
Araki has never been consistent with his character designs. If anything, that's the /one/ thing David Productions does right - actually making a design and sticking to it
The same way they changed the weird look early Part III had
No no no no no no no no no what the fuck
just an artists error in this one picture i would assume, or a really crappy attempt at shadow. Mr. David Production is a pretty sketchy guy but there's no way anyone's retarded enough to have Part 4 Jotaro in anything but a white coat
I can't believe any of you look at the art posted and think "yeah this looks like production quality stuff." "they can definitely animate this"
Honestly, guys, this looks 1000% like fan art. It looks like someone used the dry brush PS filter over the coloring, it looks cheap.
There's nothing about this that screams professional to me. Look at what David did in the past for promo pics. Does any of that look like this? The lines, the coloring, any of it. Look at Koichi FFS. David wasn't even this sloppy with Phantom Blood and they had no money then.
If it somehow really truly ends up looking like this well then Inb4 Araki jumps ship like the PB movie.
i genuinely don't know if you're baiting or not
Stardust Crusaders looked 'cleaner' but it also looked like absolute shit. And besides, Part 4 is all about wackiness and quaint charm. Maybe the whole series looks like the key visual, but it's also just as possible that it looks nothing like it. Heck, Part 4 was so inconsistent, historically speaking, that i wouldnt be surprised if they did a Space Dandy and got different art directors for different episodes, leading to a more varied style.
Or. You know. It's just a fucking picture. I'm willing to wager money that the actual animation quality is about the same as Stardust Crusaders, and the only differences are the removal of the strange face lines and the cheese-wheel shoulders.
>yfw they do OP's art style for SoL scenes
>switches to more serious art style in battles in the same way as pic related
>not keeping Hatano and Kamiyan
>not using Sakurai for Bruno
>not keeping Yuuki Kaji as Johnny
Mind you, I don't dislike any of the new VAs they're using, but the ones caster for the games were leagues better.
Hell, the re-cast for SC was good. This one is clearly a downgrade, especially removing Hatano. He did an amazing job as Josuke, and his DORARARA was amazing.
Joseph had him on his will.
With Hermito Purpuu not even illegitimate children are safe from your knowledge, and ol' Joseph decided that putting his bastards in his will would not only be a great idea but would also be fine in Suzie Q's eyes.
Don't know why, but that mental image made me laugh.
No, we have to tell them that Kira kills everyone and destroys the universe. Then we have to tell them the same thing with Part 5 and Diavolo. Then the same with Part 6 and Pucci. By Part 6 they won't believe us, but they're in for a shock.
Maybe not Part 4, but holy SHIT I'd sell my soul to David Pro for the ED of the Soft Machine fight to be the Vento crew dancing. Shit'd be spectacular.
Completely agree. I was never sold on Kamiya's Rohan even from day one of ASB when he had no other voice actors. Rohan's character always seemed to be a maturer more nihilistic type than the cool pretty boy Kamiya typically plays, no offense to him as an actor.
Removing Romi Park was the gayest choice though.
Yeah, the new cast is growing on me. The more I look into the different cast members the more excited I get; really want Ono to sing the OP now desu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eE-iqUJarQI
I'm pretty sure that the image posted in the op is scaled up compared to the official one. So, yes, it's art with some filter on top.
Still, even disregarding that, the style seems to be different from the manga.
>That guy can only do one type performance
Watch more anime.
His Johnny =/= his Meliodas =/= his Eren.
Just because you don't like that he voiced harem protag #1146 doesn't mean he's shit, or that he doesn't belong in any role.

Hey guys, whats going on in this thread? Is everyone excited about Kira?
>Changing all the VAs
man....now I'm scared for Part 5.
Slice of life is the wrong phrase, that's the problem
There are a handful of very SOL-esque moments
>lets go eat italian food
>koichi's love interest shenanigans
>trying to scam the lottery with the little fat shit
>the dice game
but what people are really talking about is how DiU in general is more lighthearted, and more importantly how the stakes and scale of the part are so much smaller. It's all set exclusively in one town rather than being a globetrotting adventure like parts 2 and 3 were, the main villain isn't even properly introduced until like halfway through, and the only actual threats are a couple of domestic-scale murders and the possibility of the wrong guy maybe getting hit by the Arrow. Nobody is an all-powerful God, nobody is looking to take over the world or destroy modern civilization. Nothing is /really/ at stake - there are plenty of small-time murderers in the real world, Kira isn't all that big of a deal compared to Dio and the Pillar Men.
So yeah. I guess I can see both viewpoints. It's definitely not 'slice of life' in the strictest sense of the phrase, but it's not exactly an epic adventure either
i've got it
for when the third cour starts (assuming they split it up like stardust crusaders) make it a dextrer like-style morning routine since he'll have switched to kousaku kawajiri at this point, but it's the morning routine from bites the dust. after bites the dust is revealed the op changes to reflect hayato's different actions each morning
This is how I feel it will go down, visual-wise.
Shots of Josuke interacting with the important characters while famous Morioh locations are the backdrop, and maybe a few background characters hidden in as well.
Little to no focus on Kira. If he's shown at all it will be him obscured in shadows, as Josuke notices him from the back a la this page.
The song will probably be about golden hearts and shit, and mainly about getting the arrow. I have a feeling they'll play it up as if RHCP is the big bad, but at the same time make it easy to tell he's not.
The second opening I have less of an idea on. I hope for a scene of Kira swapping out his face and then quick cuts of a bunch of random people, none of which are actually Kosaku. But then for the final episodes the quick cuts end as the crowd dissipates and they focus in on Kosaku as he bites his nails intensely. Probably a lot of explosion based transitions as well. We'll probably also get a lot more Heaven's Door stuff in the second opening as opposed to the first I feel like. The song will again be about the golden heart shit but now more about protecting the town and ending the killers rein over the town. Less of a SoL feel and more of a Stand Proud vibe.
People keep saying it might be fake, but why would Dengeki Magazine give fake news? And I thought I remember hearing there was going to be news announced today when they did the first announcement. Considering this was the only thing announced, I don't see how this could possibly be fake.
I know why people are saying it, but it's not fake. I do think that it's not "official" though. As in, someone other than DP made the image and it's just a placeholder for now. They said they were only announcing casting so I don't see why people think the image is going to be the art style for it.
The site's getting updated this Thursday as well, it's been confirmed. We'd get at least a single visual key they'd use on the site just like the first ones we got in the past.
Eh, you're right. I forgot about that. I honestly never notice QUALITY shots in any anime I've ever watched, including JoJo. I don't know how, I see people complain about it all the time but never notice it. But still, that DIO on the webpage was fucking horrendous. What the fuck were they thinking? God damn.
I remember right after de SC episode with the altered OP people were all over the place on what others parts should do to match up to it. 1 frame hidden messages and obsessive attention to detail aside, something for AOBtD like characters exploding as they appear in frame or not appearing altogether, or cutting it so the characters would start dissappearing after each loop. Or have Koyama sing it the one time or something. Anything at all really would be cool
Or maybe they won't do a thing and it will just have a normal OP, which would be understandable but disappointing. It'd be less especial now that it is expected rather than surprising
There's the obvious move to pull a ZA WARUDO and make the OP rewind 10 seconds after Bites the Dust is introduced, but I would like to see more finger twitch type things out of the OP as well. The little things can go a long way, even if its just having abstract shapes representing deaths and events.
I always felt like this song would fit the Bites the Dust Arc
Theories on hidden references?
>Photo of Jolyne next to photo of the Crusaders (unlikely)
>Hermit Purple-like shape hinting at Joseph coming
>Text on screen disappears in the shape of a baby (like in OP 4 with Cream's holes)
>Hayato in the crowd
>Shot of a cat
Hopefully not, part 8 kinda sucks so far and I'd hate to see Jojo turn into one of the other various series that go on for too long and become complete shit. It's remarkable it's been going this long and maintaining quality. I can't imagine Araki has much left in him.
I actually liked the motion comic vibe. Such fidelity to the manga.
As someone who hasn't started part 8 yet, and only just finished part 7 a few weeks ago, this really scares me. I'm not gonna wait until its finished to read it. What kind of hell is it waiting a month for a new chapter? Is this how Berserk fans feel?
I've yet to actually catch up myself, because I've been reading Part 8 more sparingly than the previous ones, just a couple chapters every few days, and that's how I'd recommend you go about it.
Once you do eventually catch up, there'll still be the light novels and Rohan stuff, so you won't be out of material for a while.
Yeah but it added nothing as an adaption. All it did was the same thing as the manga but longer. It's fine for Animeonly but for someone who has read part 3 before it was just a painfully long retread with shit pacing. You get more out of it just by rereading.
Part four has a less directive, goal focused narrative and is much better for that drawn out shit. It's also a much better part. Whether they adapt it and create a new fresh iteration like JJBA season one or panel for panel it like SDC p4 will be fine.
What is with this notion of "replaced" VAs? Never were the ASB VAs designated or obligated to do possible future anime adaptations. They weren't "replaced", they're simply not being used again, for whatever reason.
When exactly would UJ come out? There's about 8 hours until the 19th in Japan. Do people have to wait to get their hands on them at sunrise or are they available fairly early on at midnight?
This isn't the art style they're going with, right? All the previous parts kept well to Araki's style (but made it a bit less sketchy) so what's the deal with this? it doesn't look bad, it just doesn't look like DiU
But that's not even what Im referring to.
DP didn't trace the panel but it's basically the same thing. If that's your best comparison though you're obviously just being autistic though and there's no point in going any further with it.
Dont be a twit. Barely any of the scenes in the anime match-up to how they're drawn in the manga.
Especially in DIO's World.
That implies I put effort in, I spent 5 seconds on Google.
But I can assume you're autistic for defending any part of the Egypt arc.
That's just because his mouth had to move, He was being animated.
This is one of the few times DP does this and it doesn't look like complete shit, season 1 of part 3 was definitely better.
the announcement teaser thing for DiU said production was greenlit, so I guess they didn't start right after SC ended. The staff members were also apparently traveling to places in Japan.
That's scanlations from 10 years ago for you.
>That implies I put effort in
Well if you're aware of how shit your argument has been thus far then we're on the same page.
There were plenty of scenes that looked great too. DP is low budget, we're lucky it looked better than the 2012 series in the first place.
Why would I bother? You're all asspies with maximum shit taste, if you lost an argument you'd just stop posting or start shit-posting.
I can be right alone. But
>Implying anything in Egypt surpasses Phantom Blood or Battle Tendency
good joke kiddo
The only one that I thought was odd was the second-to-last. Like... is that hair or chunks of flesh coming out the top of his head? How is that an improvement?
The rest are either similar or an improvement.
Can't wait for someone to do the Yukako version of this stupidass meme.
The infamous one of him opening the sewer looks almost exactly the same to me. And the two before that look just as bad, maybe a tiny tiny bit better, but to the point where it's so similar and still bad that it's confusing they even bothered.
The only difference I can see of him opening the sewer is his one hand is on the edge of the rim instead of just on the ground. Pretty fucking minor change, but I guess it makes sense.
At least it will always look great in the manga.
They tried to make it look more like the manga I guess? Honestly the worst part are those lines under the eyes on every single character
At least part 4 looks like a mix of the two styles
I'd rather have it look iffy but be extremely faithful to the manga than it look high budget but be shitty and packed with filler. If I need to see the artwork at its best then I'll read the manga anyway.
There's also this:
TV (blurry mess): http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/44/1445838006-myfile.gif
>They tried to make it look more like the manga I guess?
I wish people would stop saying this, they absolutely did not do this at all.
There was an inexplicable design change between those chapters and when he got the flesh bud out. Same with Jotaro's hat and it's cut up design. Not as bad as early Part 1 though.
Doesn't look anything like late Part 3 either. If they tried, they failed.
I don't care. The anime still looks like ass no matter what.
They're definitely going to animate part 5, no question. It'll probably have the best budget of the lot too. The question is will they animate part 6 and 7, or just think "why bother?"
And yet somehow I prefer the OVA episodes. Maybe because they're better.
And the 2012 series was good, unlike most of part 3.
OVA dipped from awful to perfect in places. It felt like they tried to make the fights really fucking awesome but also had to make them shorter. They honestly just should have made it a full-blown movie.
Really? This one was much better than the DP counterpart. Some awkward scenes as well (jumping around like Spiderman, Hermit Purple firing off a DBZ like explosion), but Kakyoins death was really well done.
People noticed that the two girls in front of Jotaro were the girls in Hong Kong from the end of episode 5. No idea why they bothered changing them, or why they changed the people behind Jotaro too.
The OVA is mostly meh until DIO's World, which goes back and forth between awesome and meh itself. Worst of all was definitely the Vanilla Ice fight in the OVA, which was fucking terrible. The anime completely nailed that fight. Which made their strange handling of DIO's World even more perplexing.
But anyway I'd say the anime did everything better, with the exception of poor pacing in DIO's World and the OVA obviously had better animation being an OVA. Music was 10x better than that shit synth in the OVA too.
The OVAs might have had better animation than the anime for obvious reasons, it wasn't without its own fair share of QUALITY
