did you play the game or just read a summary? I followed some playthrough videos but none of them even near complete, it's kinda weird, since almost all the new games have a complete walkthrough days after the release.
Anyway, the game is really good because of the writing, Ishida is basically a genius. Tokyo Ghoul story translates well into a novel. And Rio is a great character too and I loved better than all the new characters in :re so far. He is also voiced by Ono Kensho.
I hope they localize the game one day, all TG western fans need to play it.
