Shaft created the best girl of all time is what happened.
>Can't even write plebeian right
>alien race smart enough to space travel, create magic and find a solution to save the universe
>outsmarted by little girls from an inferior race
Madokami saved us from our sins and returned magical girls everywhere and everywhen into her infinite grace by way of the Law of the Cycles.
Homura is the best and most powerful of all Meguaks, her love is unmatched, her control is absolute, her influence is wholly consuming.
Why is Homura such a shit? she ruined the whole series.
>control is absolute
Except for that part where she says that it's only a matter of time until everything goes to shit for her again because Madoka will remember EVERYTHING.
But yeah, other than THAT, she's golden.
>the universe exists inside a cute lolis dress
>we are always near madokami's ass, legs, and vagina
I allready do worship her
Is there no alternative? Will I have to make a batoto account?
the universe reached an equilibrium between the darkness of love and the light of love. Madoka who would sarcifice herself was separated from her divine being meaning that those who die will face purgatory
You can start buying manga and supporting the industry, anon.
I downloaded the Taimadou LNs in epub format from volumes 1 to 11 from Madokami a few days ago. Want me to upload them?
it's not real.
it's all just a dream.
tomorrow i'll wake up and it will be there just as usual
Here you go:
Password to the archive file is the full name of the hot pants wearing repairman uni girl in Gakkou Gurashi, no spaces or capital letters. If you don't know her, just find the character's name with google or read the manga, don't fucking spoonfeed it here or anywhere.
>admin says he doesn't want to pay for server costs
>donations cover server costs completely
Why can't he just say that he doesn't want to maintain it anymore?
Anyone going to help grab the rarer stuff?
>60 quid a month
Shit man, why not put a donation thingy like MT?
Everyone can fucking pitch in a buck per month, hell I drop around 80 per month just drinking.
We should make a torrent, or series of torrents as backup.
It's still a problem though, those of us who can throw the money into the problem don't have the skills to maintain it. Those who have the skills don't have the time or money (or will).
We need a madokami clone or the same site, with safe redundant backups and which doesn't rely on only a single person or single interest group, so far this hasn't happened. It needs to happen soon.
That doesn't solve the "backups" issue. Madokami survives another day, but I don't think anyone wants this little panic session to happen at all ever. We need ANOTHER entity, preferably multiple, that can stand as a secondary source of manga backup. I'm glad this shook everyone enough to remember just how retarded it is to put all your eggs in one basket. Even more so, considering that's the whole reason the current source of manga even exists.
Thankfully, Sunako took priority over me. I believe he'll be handling it now.
>Quit asking the same question over and over again
If one person asks it, everyone's gonna ask it. Like 60% of the people on here post before reading the threads they enter. So get used to wading through those posts.
>I don't think anyone wants this little panic session to happen at all ever. We need ANOTHER entity, preferably multiple, that can stand as a secondary source of manga backup. I'm glad this shook everyone enough to remember just how retarded it is to put all your eggs in one basket.
You said pretty much the same thing when the MT thing was going down and all we got was madokami. People just can't be assed it seems.
Well if it actually lasts for another month, I can manage scraping all of it (except there's the really slow throttling speeds, and I don't know if the new admins will take kindly to mass scrapings).
Madokami as it is is just the archive + a few terabytes of bot scraping (in other words, countless duplicates because the bot doesn't discriminate) + maybe some rarer scanlations and some raws. It can be replaced.
Ah, it's not Sunako taking over. It's someone else. qqueue. I don't want to go around putting out misinformation.
There is nothing you need to apologize for.
Then learn how to scrape, and prepare for the scrapening. The site will be back up at some point. Expect everyone and their bot to be doing the same thing.
To be exact, I talked to okawus, and agreed to renew the server for at least the next month. We're waiting on the payment to clear, but the site should be back up in a few hours. It sounds like okawus would prefer to hand over actual admin duties as well, and I'm fine with handling that, but we'll see; I'm also fine with just paying server costs for the forseeable future.
tl;dr site should be back soon, don't panic (yet).
Different anon here. There's been a small group on AB who have been pushing for as well as actually uploading more manga there.
Still far from comprehensive, obviously, but it certainly wasn't an all eggs in one basket thing. At the very least, I believe most of the older scanlations as well as official scans are up there. Newer releases obviously aren't as readily available but at least those are still easy to get from scanlator sites (for the most part).
If he handed the whole thing to me, I would have just paid two months worth and told everyone to scrape in hopes that people would panic. But it's not up to me, thankfully. Anyway, cheers for the future. I hope we can get some kind of backup support this time.
>It sounds like okawus would prefer to hand over actual admin duties as well, and I'm fine with handling that, but we'll see; I'm also fine with just paying server costs for the forseeable future.
I don't know; again I'd be fine with him running the show still. I'm probably a competent admin as well, but I've never done it before. I promise to try really hard not to fuck it up if it comes to that.
Also re: whole site mirroring, email me if you're actually serious about it; I'll set something up for high-throughput mirroring, likely just rsync, but maybe something fancier like a tahoeLAFS pool. also let me know if you're into "fancier" distributed shit, like ipfs, i2p, bittorrent, what have you; we may have something to talk about.
>I'm probably a competent admin as well, but I've never done it before. I promise to try really hard not to fuck it up if it comes to that.
That fills me with confidence.
It seems like a mirror server that just makes Nyaa torrents for the files and seeds could easily be set up, but the owner would have to be pretty vigilant about duplicate filters.
Shitty lazy ending and the absolute most cancerous fan base.
>block people with a referer headers from reddit, facebook and the like to decease traffic and spread a bit
Is that even possible? I know jack about coding and shit.
With that said, you'll need to consider that they'll circumvent with link shortening like bitly.
>With that said, you'll need to consider that they'll circumvent with link shortening like bitly.
They don't make it public they are, block referer headers for link shorteners as well if they have them and then either outright block those people or setup a false page they get instead
Fake pages are a dying art.
How big is all of the manga and such there anyway? It would make sense to make a torrent and have many anons have offsite backups so if it goes down then we will still have all of the stuff. HDD is cheap now so it should be about $200 for a 4TB.
Nothing happened. Madokami "just works" and so everything was left at that and nothing else happened.
Well the thing is that the guy owns the site soon and would I assume do it. Most of /a/ is retarded but they know how to get a torrent file. That is why I thought it would be the easiest way and the most effective.
I was gonna ask about this. With western shit, you have access to pretty much everything that the scene scans/rips in DC++ hubs, how come there's nothing similar for /a/ shit? Too many groups?
She didn't. The "Homura" in Rebellion's ending is not Homura. The ending is essentially not canon because it makes absolutely no sense and was only hastily thrown together to enable a sequel.
this tee bee aitch. 1.7T or 3T is still fuckhuge for a torrent besides; it'll take days just to hash it initially, and even the .torrent file will be like 100M with a reasonable block size. when the site is back up, I'll look into making a torrent or several torrents. My feeling is it won't work out for some reason, but we'll see.
Well, you don't need to have an archive of everything. Just a torrent archive of the ones that do not already have torrents on bakabt and/or AB. I can't into coding so I don't know if it's possible to somehow just filter those out.
This may be extreme. But you should get rid of the auto registration bot. Even if you delete the .txt those instructions are in most places(reddit/MAL/other forums). Or at least amend the .txt to include only the information about how to upload.
Also you should disable reading online; you don't have to be a user/have an account to read-online. Most anons probably download anyway or at least they should.
>fufufu had some neat thread about music
>I can just see this later
I should already know by now to never leave things for tomorrow.
>Also you should disable reading online
I don't even know why that was a thing to begin with. Yeah, should just remove that shit. Kinda defeats the purpose.
People who want to read online can just go to KM or batoto anyway.
>should get rid of the auto registration bot.
Does that mean just go back to how it initially was, i.e. have to get onto irc to reg? Anyway, yeah, having the txt file was a mistake.
>We need ANOTHER entity, preferably multiple, that can stand as a secondary source of manga backup
Hey guys, remember when Mangatraders imploded and we had a handful of vaporware projects that never went anywhere, with Madokami being the only thing that got done?
>But you should get rid of the auto registration bot. Even if you delete the .txt those instructions are in most places(reddit/MAL/other forums)
You might not realize it but the fact that you need to log into irc to create an account is actually a pretty good idiot filter.
please dont use such a crude word as vagina
cunny is much better
You underestimate the amount of people that run away at the mention of irc. Don't forget that that's where the evil hackers hang out.
It also keeps away the faggots who are too lazy to join irc and message a bot to get an account because that's "too much of a hassle".
It's where people go that abuse the system. Pretty sure that's how I got DDoS'd. That or the archives. Something like that.
>It also keeps away the faggots who are too lazy to join irc and message a bot to get an account because that's "too much of a hassle".
>tfw this is me
Oh god I was so lazy I just used the public account on bugmenot
Why don't we make something like DJT's CoR? For those who don't know, DJT has a raw database that every anon in the threads backed up manually. Every anon was assigned between 50-100 GBs of raws and if/when they're taken down, they're the ones in charge of reuploading their share. Maybe every one of us could pick a series we like to keep local copies and mirror them when needed, then mail the links to the admin of the new site. We can even make a temporary spreadsheet or pastebin like this.
I've been maintaining a deathwatch for Pomf clones and I've never been a fan of Madokami.
I do wish that if new maintainers take over, then they should take some serious steps for transparency, accountability and preservation of files. For one thing, get off OVH and host a mailserver with RFC 2142 roles.
I've notified #pomfret and ArchiveTeam of Madokami's issues. Some coordination will be done to preserve the files once we can.
Doesn't having a public list like that make it easier for whoever is interested in taking those down do it so more efficiently? They know which ones to attack first and have details about the owners that aren't usually available in the site as is. The transparency list shouldn't be that transparent.
The details are from public sources, including the websites themselves (FAQ) and WHOIS contacts.
If you are doing everything well, there's no reason to be concerned. That list is to grab attention to clones that aren't doing so well (e.g., Madokami).
Knowing OVH it might take a while to get them to process the payment (had some totally horrible support experience with these guys in the past), are you sure that data really won't be lost?
