Special mentions to Pleiades, Gundam IBO, and Go! Princess Precure.
Truly awful taste, OP. Consider suicide
Charlotte only became my AOTS last season after I rewatched it. A lot of the issues I had with it were taken away when I knew what to expect what not to expect.
Plus honestly the last two seasons were shit anyway
>wait on BDs to watch Hibike
>shitlord jews releasing them 2 episodes at a time
Junketsu no Maria
Honorary mentions: Rolling Girls, Punchline, Concrete Revolutio, Owarimonogatari, and One Punch Man
OPM, Owari, Drr, and Maria were also great.
Winter and Summer were easy.
Spring was either this or Shokugeki no Soma
The only other thing I'd consider for fall is Young Black Jack
This year is pretty weak
One Punch Man isn't over yet so I'll save my judgement of it until the end but it is looking like Punchline will be winning my AOTY award with Death Parade following closely behind.
Ushio To Tora
Still watching Lupin III/Ushio/Owari/Perfect Insider so we'll see.
Winter: Koufuku Graffiti
Fall: Either Gundam, Noragami or Gochuumon, too early to tell
Well I'll admit the year has been so so, I genuinely enjoyed it. The only reason I put it above Death Parade is because I was more on the edge of my seat with Punchline and got sucked into the story. Both shows had very lively characters though. And hey, it's always nice to see a non adaption every once in a while
Atleast that's my
Honorary mentions to (in descending order per season)
Junketsu no Maria
Yuri Kuma Arashi
Kyoukai no Rinne
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Wow great argument fagtron you sure convinced me with those hot opinions.
Now tell me what your favorite shows have been so I can baselessly call them boring and lacking in "substance" too.
I mostly watch it so I can see how well Madhouse can adapt and compare to Murata's style. Also Tatsumaki's voice makes me rock solid.
Shokugeki no Soma and Punchline were both superior. Eupho had some interesting visuals but the story itself was lame and the characters were mostly bland, save for the yuri-bait.
This isn't gonna go anywhere unless one of you takes the time to give examples and explain your opinions.
>There is literally nothing interesting about her
You didn't make any fucking points but fine.
I don't know how you could call Hibike boring and a drama in the same sentence when "drama" implies some sort of captivating personal conflict. Which the show had. It was well done, Kumiko's development through her interactions with Reina was fantastic. The side characters were funny and their own personal conflicts were hinted at but gave them enough personality to truly support the main cast. The band's improvement and struggle to reach Nationals was made real and interesting by those who were once close friends being put through hardships and fighting against this change. It was genuinely a captivating drama.
On top of that, visually, it was fucking gorgeous.
As for OPM's "substance" I don't know what to tell you since that's the vaguest criticism I've seen in a while. It's got a hell of a lot of comedy, the animation (both in the manga and TV anime) are super impressive, and if that's not enough for you it also features commentary on Japan's wageslave social structure. Thanks for wasting my time, asshole.
>The side characters were funny and their own personal conflicts were hinted at but gave them enough personality to truly support the main cast
I thought most of them were pretty forgettable
>This show sucks because the characters are bad
>No the characters are good. In Episode 2 they did good things
>No they are bad because none of those things were good
Is the closest we have to an actual non vague response as to why anon liked or didn't like something and even then he's calling it a waste of time as if he would have preferred shitposting.
>dumb pile of shit with obnoxious comedy and characters
>>Everything I watched was shit
>season when NNB was airing
worst fucking taste in this thread, absolutely disgusting
As much as I liked Hibike, pleiades last episodes were just too good.
Koufuku graffiti could have been a nice AOTS for winter too.
This year pretty shit except spring, it take me awhile to remember any good shows from previous seasons.
Winter : Shirobako
Spring : Hibike/Pleiades
Summer : Wakaba Girl
Fall : Gochiusa
Heck for most disappointing show each season. i can choose easily
Winter : Az 2
Spring : Plastic Memories
Summer : Charlotte
Fall : Shomin Sample
>that face when no one has taste as good as you
This is the stupidest buzzword I see thrown around here. A show does not have to trick the viewer to be worth watching. Plastic Memories had its faults, but it made its intentions clear and kept to the point.
>Everything predictable as fuck
Ahh, I see.
You wanted another Psycho Pass episode or for her to live though some magical deux ex, didn't you?
Must be interesting judging an anime on how many unpredictable twists it can throw at you, rather than the execution of what it sets out to do.
are you guys literally retarded
there are 5 minutes of "heavy drama" and 5 minutes of "emotional moments" per episode and you know exactly what's gonna happen, the storylines are generic and predictable as fuck
NNB is boring. That can't be helped.
Best cinematography: Sound! Euphonium
Best Male MC: Saitama
Best Female MC: Oumae, Kumiko
Best Director: Ishihara, Tatsuya
Best Male supporting MC: Genos
Best Female supporting MC: Kousaka, Reina
And the Animemes for AOTY goes to...
Winter Death Parade.
Spring Euphonium/Arslan Senki.
Fall: Underwater Ray Romano/Osomatsu.
it's exactly that - generic and predictable
The only thing that isn't generic about it is the setting, even the characters are cardboard cut outs you can find in any uninspired harem
it shouldn't require you more than 50 shows to see that
is there no consensus aots picks amongst you guys
hard to know what to go back and watch and I can't tell if this year just sucked or everything was equally "good"
Here is your way home >>>/v/ermin
seasons like megucas and stein's gate and kill la kill might not have had 100% of the vote but an overwhelming majority to the point people knew to pick it up and watch it.
I don't have time. I can't even do the 3 episodes and drop. I should be leaving for work right now but I am spending my last few minutes in the morning shitposting
>seasons like megucas and stein's gate and kill la kill might not have had 100% of the vote but an overwhelming majority to the point people knew to pick it up and watch it
That's a decent contender. I won't fight you.
I've been here all summer bro shouldn't exclude me from having an opinion
Special mention to Concrete Revolutio for this current season which has a lot of potential.
Anon, did you truly consider your options? Why would you pick the terrible get-nowhere twelve episode hate with one, maybe TWO redeemable girls, over, well, everything else? Seriously.
Not him but blackstar is a really old tripfag, his taste is awful but I believe he's the biggest active shitsposter in the whole 4chan if we use the old archive.moe post count from different boards.
Eh, it's slightly better than last year at least.
I wonder if 2016 will fare better than this year.
back in my day we had to find the threads that weren't 404ed by accelarator pictures taking up the entire catalog
both ways through the snow!
Sore ga Seiyuu
Pretty nice to see Nicht being part of the good guys after years of villainy.
>Most healing anime of the fall
You forgot your "comfy" meme.
Rolling Girls isn't that great, it's just the best show in a shit season unless you count Shirobako.
Wakaba Girl is just really fucking good for its genre, if it wasn't that good I would have picked Crowds Insight or NNB instead.
Stop being a Dogakobo fanboy. Oota is not a god of comedy like you'd like to believe. I agree that the OP and ED of S3 are inferior but the content is still great. I've laughed heartedly at every episode so far.
If you want a show that actually deteriorated from a change in studio/staff, look at Minami-ke. YRYR S3 is god-tier compared to that show's seasons after S1.
Not him, but please do not speak my name.
Summer: Prison School
Fall: Gundam IBO
A rabbit must have pissed in their coffee.
Best opinion coming though!
SUMMER: NNB s2 [Honorable mention: Working S3]
WINTER: OPM is decent, rest is shit
NNBR is the undisputed AOTY for anyone with an ounce of taste.
It's shit, anon. It's dull. It's innocuous. It's exactly the kind of thing normalfags think of when they claim all CGDCT show are the same boring shit.
Reminder that NNB is just a meme show (muh "comfy") only loved by memespouters who only post their shitty "shinkansen" cancer memes. The best slice of life AND AOTY is GochiUsa by a wide, wiiiide margin.
Not like I can say I was watching many things, and nothing could have stood against the Shirobako giant. But hey, I guess Koufuku Graffiti was comfy, rather funny, and gave some nice cooking ideas. Last resort though.
Close call between Hibike and Kekkai Sensen. Hibike still wins by a small margin.
For now it's Owarimonogatari. GochiUsa is nice and all, but the enjoyment gap from episode to episode is definitely here. One Punch Man is good but the humor consists in gags that are already in many other works done before, the characters are flat, and the plot too so far.
>NNBR is the undisputed AOTY for anyone with an ounce of taste.
>It's shit, anon. It's dull. It's innocuous. It's exactly the kind of thing normalfags think of when they claim all CGDCT show are the same boring shit.
we should fuck
>Shirobako doesn't count as winter
This criterion is silly and pointless because there are many multiple cour anime that don't hit their stride until later cours.
Anyone who said Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was AOTS for Spring 2009 during that season was laughed at because of the terrible pacing and skipping manga content, but the show's pacing improved dramatically afterwards and now the anime shows up in many people's 3x3s.
After Shirobako's first cour I was unsure whether it would continue to be good or not, the awesome second cour just cemented the fact that it really was a great show.
>It's exactly the kind of thing normalfags think of when they claim all CGDCT show are the same boring shit.
Normalfags don't like that so it must be shit.
Good job anon, you've convinced me.
The second cour could have been shit and ruined the whole series.
We're all very very stupid though, anon
>The second cour could have been shit and ruined the whole series.
That's why rankings shouldn't be made until a while has passed. Honestly I wouldn't trust the opinion of anyone who has only seen a series once anyway.
>the same rules
Since when does what the majority thinks mean anything? There are tons of people who think Avatar the Last Airbender is an anime and even more who think the word "antisocial" means "asocial", doesn't mean they're right.
I dont understand why /a/ think Tokyo Ghoul Root A isnt AOTY It has
Tokyo Ghoul Root A is AOTY
Nigga, the only thing that left Shirobako unsure about its status was the very first episode because the premises were looking too shoujo or "moe".
The show was consistently good from episode 2 onwards. I just agree that the second cour destroyed everything in its path.
P.A. Works is going to have a hard time outdoing this one, I tell ya.
For some reason people aren't capable of enjoying multiple anime in a certain genre, as if they're being loyal to their favourite one. Thus, they must actively shit on anything else that could be considered a "competitor".
Only thing that was remotely memorable from this year was Shirobako and I guess Umaru, but the latter mostly for the shitposting. 2015 was a pretty shit year for anime and I don't see 2016 being any better
NNB excels in many ways, the comedy is great(which is a rarity in anime), dialog is witty, it has a great atmosphere because of the visuals and the OST, it has no major predictable tropes, and it builds up great emotional moments that not only don't feel forced or out of place(which can easily happen in SoLs), but are one of the best moments in the entire medium, without exaggeration.
And there are a lot of small things that add up and further distinguishes it from other similar shows like no otaku pandering besides 2 moments in S1, perfect eye catch transitions that fit the atmosphere, no ridiculous sound effects to exaggerate something(used in basically every comedy anime, another reason why Nip comedy sucks ass), and city/sticks comparisons
There's literally nothing wrong with the show
Gochiusa is filled with otaku pandering tropes, fanservice and dumb comedy. It's a 5/10 show at best and you have to be a tasteless retard who was influenced too much by the /a/ hugbox circlejerk to think otherwise
>filled with people who overrated it or who've watched less than 10 SoL shows.
by the way NNB is the best cgdct SoL ever created, it's a lot better than Aria or whatever you make yourself believe it's better just because it's less popular
>Gochiusa is filled with otaku pandering tropes, fanservice and dumb comedy. It's a 5/10 show at best and you have to be a tasteless retard who was influenced too much by the /a/ hugbox circlejerk to think otherwise
kill yourfuckingself nnb shitter
like I'd be willing to write a wall of text again for shitposting general
because it's pedobait garbage of course it's gonna sell better
mosaic has a lot more fanservice in S2 and sold better than S1 because of it
If you unironically correlate sales to quality, you truly have a weak mind.
It's just some faggot who saw some NNB vs GochiUsa shit going on and decided to see which one sold better then posted it pretending to be a blabbering retard to try to make both sides butthurt about something.
Put Charlotte on it. I've never seen a 12 episodes anime original with so many plot hole, even AB made more sense. I can't believe the guy who wrote Clannad also wrote this abomination.
Unironically thinking Gochiusa is better than NNB is worse than being an underage edgelord shouting "le moeshit".
I haven't said this in a long time but literally >>>/b/
GochiUsa and NNB are equally good SoL anime. They each have their own strengths with GochiUsa having more comedy and NNB being on the more comfy side.
GochiUsa is a useless bunny show only good for sex appeal
rage more shit eaters, there's nothing valuable in gochiusa besides green tea scene. It's trash for pedos
I mean no wonder 90% of gochiusa threads is about wanting to fuck them, you backward degenerates
I'd love to see you elaborate on how you arrived at this ridiculous conclusion, though I believe I know what's coming.
They're not all the same shit. Go watch more if you want to shitpost about it properly.
