Time we're pretend to know about animation, feel free to discuss your favorite animator, sakuga anime, or anything related with that.
Simple guide here :
If you haven't watch Animator Expo special (making of Animator Expo), then go watch it now :
Feel free to add youtube channel that probably missed in the pastebin.
*Time to pretend we know about animation
Fuck, how could I fucked up that. Sorry.
Also, pic related, wanpanman's staff for episode 7 - 10.
Ishibashi-Kugai, Ishibashi-Oda, Kameda. Kojima. Pretty good team here.
Can anyone confirm that episode 8 & 9 are about Sea King ? I'm not good with Kanji.
Animator expo special :
That's Hibiki Yoshizaki during the process of making Me Me Me / GIRL (I forgot which one).
I'm still halfway though, but from skimming, I could see it featured Hibiki Yoshizaki, Maeda, and Honda. There are also few names that probably I missed.
There's not enough animation where the camera moves like that towards the end. It's all just static shots, because of the painted backgrounds. If only the painted backgrounds could be animated as well.
The most unforgivable thing this season. All the keyframes and hardwork was done for them. Terrible.
Yutapon is the greatest
One thing I don't care for with these fairly well done animated shows who show explosions like that are they get really lazy with the actual explosion. I've seen it a few too many times where it's just a bunch of various sized blocks falling down from the crash. Obviously because it's easier to animate blocks in perspective rather than all types of irregular shapes, but still. Is it too much to ask for?
Block-shaped debris are pretty popular since it's easier to animate like you said, some animators have stylized them enough to be a signature flourish of their like Yutaka Nakamura. Still, it's debris that aren't straight-up cubes are around. You just gotta know where to look.
There are many great animators with bizarre explosions effect, for example Takashi Hashimoto, and Hideki Kakita.
I don't think bizarre is a word one would normally associate with Hashimoto and Kakita's styles. Those two along with Hirofumi Masuda and Masakatsu Sasaki are deemed to be the top effects animators. Their styles are detailed and lean towards realism if you ask me.
obligatory chinese sakuga
Opps I gave it a wrong name.
But here's a link
lol, I was gonna webm that for this thread.
Side note I wonder when color pencil studio will release video related.
They're getting there.
That looks fantastic, you got a youtube link of that?
I mean, everything in this thread looks 10x better than this at least. The opening is kinda catchy though, reminds me of something LiSA
Couldn't remember. But yeah, probably studio 1. I heard from the nerds that Thunderbolt will have 2d mecha from Unicorn team.
I'm practicing. Pls don't bully ;_;
Only a bilibili link, you can get youku unblocker if is region block for you.
what you seen is the okay from china. you're sides will probably be in orbit if you saw all the QUALITY that comes out from there.
>What about other asians like the gooks?
Korra, boondocks, ATLAB and many other american cartoons series.
Major korean studios that animate your cartoons
OPM #5 was outsourced to DR MOVIE.
I don't know about local animation from Korea, or how they are as a team / production company (without involvement from Japan), but if you're asking about individual animators, then there are plenty good animators from Korea.
Also, Se Joon Kim
I thought Anno looked tall in that webm, then I looked it up.
I made two sakuga thread twice in this month.
I think Sunday is the best time, after Gundam, OPM, Conrevo, Noragami, Haikyuu airing.
Also, did we also have sakuga thread in the past ?
What is this from? Some of those stylistic choices remind me almost exactly of KlK and TTGL, not to mention the pink haired Mami altogether.
An application called Flipaclip but I only use it for fun. I'm working my way with Adobe Flash, I still have lots to learn.
and I'm saving up for a decent, bigger tablet.
Hey OP you should make more sakuga threads more often, it's nice to people here interesting in sharing content and opinions.

Well, it actually have japanese subtitle for the conversation (but not the narration).
But I'm not sure if anyone interested to translate that...
Well, I could understand like, 70 - 80 % of it. But I have no skill in translating or subbing
(since English isn't my main language)
Some of those Korean kids make me feel very inadequate about my own stuff. Too bad they seem to get stiffed with working on stiff looking kids shows.
Well thanks anyways.
To everyone here, the 17th DigiCon6 ASIA awards stream is coming up "14th Nov" if anyone interested.
This is awesome.

The technique seems to be done well but fuck man, the colours and shit look really bad.
Also I tried some shit with animating perspective, I'm no expert or anything but I can tell you, it's a special kind of hell.
Have you ever tried being pretentious but you just ended up sounding like a faggot? Pic really (un)related.
I can agree on genga, but people use the word sakuga because it's a distinct characteristic of Japanese limited animation.
Like, a Disney Pixar film has good animation throughout, but that isn't sakuga.
The usage of the word also really isn't comparable to "good animation". You would say a sentence like
>that scene had good animation in it
but you wouldn't say
>that scene had some sakuga in it
because that's retarded
Seiyu also makes sense just as much as "anime" does. It's a clear distinction for a Japanese voice actor.
