Daily dose of KKOW.
And that's all for tonight, thanks for reading.
There are other delinquent series with lewd shit if you like that stuff thought.
I love your work anon and hope you keep it up but dumping that just had no point, dumping needs to start from chapter 1 so that everyone picks it up and then as they come up they'd just be dumped here normally, you don't even have to dump it if its annoying, just post a link to the pages and someone will do it most likely. Great work thought.
Fuck it. I'll finish the arc, but not because you told me to.
Ya' think ya' can juss waltz in here and start shiet in mah' turf?! Watch'yer mouth ya' lil pirck, yer' 10 years too young to be fuckin' with me.
Freshman year was 10 years ago, in the suburbs of NYC. I always felt safe and there were never any serious incidents on campus. The same can't be said of my friend's 99% white high school with no security guards in Massachusetts where a student died of a stabbing.
Anybody else read this? I thought it was really good.
Just watched the first episode of the BBH OVA, shit it's really good, it just feel so much more realistic than most other delinquent manga, the pages posted on the last thread reminded me how goddamn good it is, someone seriously has to scanlate that shit asap.
Check this out, Vice has a pretty cool short documentary on Bosozoku culture with some pretty cool footage. Some are extremely low quality but really shows that these were actual gangs and did some pretty bad shit.
>it just feel so much more realistic than most other delinquent manga
They seem a bit too fast to pull out knives to be considered realistic. I don't think many delinquents want to maim/murder, just have some fun.
Shit the art can be lazy though.
Most cases knives are just to scare people I guess but it's been a while since I read it, I can't remember anything from it other than it being really funny and the scar guy that's a huge playboy.
See >>133359248 as prove.
The stuff that man from the video says is 10x times worst than any delinquent manga I've read, who knows if it's true but always, carrying a knife, dragging someone's body through the asphalt with a car, jesus that's some brutal shit, and we're talking about 16-19 year old kids.
I'll start the Bakuon Rettou Ch8 TL in a few days
I can already see it - v.2 c.8 by Anon (79d ago),
I'm from Canada, all these walls and gates around high school grounds in Japanese manga always cracks me up a little. Not even chain link fences here, you could just stroll right onto our school grounds from any direction, then walk right into the school, too.
Though, someone that looks like they weren't old enough to be a student wandering around might get reported by a janitor or something, I guess. There are signs in every school, from primary onwards, asking visitors to please report to the office.
That's it, though. Oh, we had a cop assigned to our school, but just the one, and he never actually got involved in anything, as far as I can remember. He was our "official liason", not really a guard, per se.
The "original" Delinquent Manga will never get translated.
>Backed by a fixer who controls the political and economic circles, a high school student, Jinryu Goji, governs his school – Seiun Gakuen. In response, the school authority asks Nagare Zenjiro, a champion of Chinese martial arts who killed his father and was sentenced to a juvenile detention center, to fight Jinryu Goji. The story revolves around combats between the two. The dual develops into extensive conflicts involving high school students nationwide, and eventually leading figures in political and economic circles. The artist represented detailed movements of kung-fu, which was extremely popular at that time. The series was epochal in that is established a new genre of manga highlighted by conflicts on campus.
Because cleaning and Translation takes time and it's not unusual for people to take brake or something unexpected happening. I'm just saying I wouldn't hold my breath expecting consistent releases all the way to the end.
>Because cleaning and Translation takes time and it's not unusual for people to take brake
It's kinda sad "obscure" but reliable translators aren't a thing now-a-days. If it doesn't hit mainstream you have a better chance translating the thing over here.
Not bashing on translators or anything, it's just weird that with anime and manga so popular in general there aren't a boatloads of fan translators.
Copyright rats are to blame, i presume.
Dude I'll upload new chapters on batoto if that's ok with you. If there's no delinquent thread up you can send me your TL on batoto. Btw do you want me to credit you or something
Sakigake!! Otokojuku 2 isn't as decent as I hoped it would be.
Oh yeah and I'll release it under the name
Delinquent Scans, so that people on Mangaupdates get notifications
They on manga updates or anything? As the current TL and cleaner have the raws, I'd suggest they go back and do those for consistency, but I've never done scanlating before.
Chartfag if you're here I finally got around to reading Bremen. I'd give it a 6/10. It's mainly about starting a band but there's a bunch of shit with gangs too so it counts, the writing is pretty hamfisted and over the top, and the comedy falls a bit flat, but the art is good and makes the weird fight scenes pretty interesting, plus the MC is an egomaniac which is always fun, so I'd say its not great but worth reading.
Holy shit man you actually read 82 chapters of Bremen just like that? That was fast. If it's not too much trouble, could you tell me from 1 to 10 how Over the top would you say it is? Also from 1 to 10 how much comedy it has and action, like the amount not how funny it is or how brutal is the action but from 1 to 10 how much of it is there.
I'm not using actual ratings with numbers for the chart but just to have a basis myself to know where to put it. Also, have you read some other delinquent manga? Compared to those where would you place Bremen? Like Would you say KKOW is better in case you have read it? Or Crows, RokuBlues, Angel Densetsu, Bad Company or whatever you might have read? Thanks by the way.
Over the top: 8/10, like just below Kongou Banchou at certain points.
Presence of comedy: 6/10
Presence of action: 4/10
And it's definitely a couple of tiers below KKOW and Rokublues, maybe one tier below Crows. Like not mediocre, but just above it.
Hey man thanks a lot, couldn't ask for more.
Yeah you're not entirely wrong but I dare you to read it and see for yourself, just try the first few chapters and tell me what you think, I've read some other works by the same author and the dude is just not that good of a writer, his characters are all the same from manga to manga and I don't believe art alone makes a manga good. I'm trying to be as objective as I can but It's obviously not quite easy.
Sure I mean I'm quick to call shit awful, but it's not like people don't agree with me as well, see the manga Sugarless from a couple of threads back, a couple other anons had read it as well and just about everyone had dropped it. But I mean I've also praised several other manga in the past few threads like Bal Jak, Angel Voice and Saru Lock, I'm guessing the negative ones stick more in people's memory.
I'm the anon that had read some of it before and currently very slowly rereading it, although I am not as far in as the other anon since I am watching and reading other shit too. There's better manga out there about starting a band but you could do a lot worse.
I agree about Sugarless but that's a really special kind of terrible.
I also started Blazing Transfer Student too. Honestly, it's pretty damn funny but in the same way Leslie Nielsen in Airplane! is funny.
Well Blazing Transfer student has some nice jokes here and there, I did say if it was more focused on the gags it would be great but it's pretty big on the action that's just not very good in my opinion. It's not a delinquent manga in the end so no need to worry about that one anymore.
When you say everybody you mean the reader or the actual characters in the manga? I just didn't catch your analogy because I never watched Airplane! But I mean I more or less get what you're saying but Otokojuku pulled that absurdity off pretty well, in another way Cromartie as well, I just don't think Blazing Transfer Student nailed that.
The actual characters in the manga.
I don't really think Cromartie is that similar because they generally point out the absurdities and the artwork has pretty much zero dynamic. Not that anybody reads Cromartie for the art but still.
I do agree that early Otokojuku does it better but still this is hardly what I'd call bad.
I really appreciate these threads. I'll bump them with Crows and Clover shit occasionally to keep the thread from dying.
Anyone else read delinquent manga because they've experienced that kinda shit in their lives?
Depends on the kind of shit you're talking about, fighting and gang shit? No, fucking around in school and having bros? Yeah more or less.
The former. I'm not proud of it, almost got me killed, but it was fun nonetheless.
Alright, it survived a whole day!
Time for your daily dose.
A good panel to turn into a header is what I meant.
The raws weren't exactly complete though, missing the final volume. Though you've got all the time in the world for that to be scanned.
You're a man among men.
I think the raws were only the first volume, wasn't it?
What if I told ya'll that I've got every single panel of Otokojuku's Minmei Publishing bullshit-mastery and every panel of Edajima exclaiming that he's the principal and I have no idea what to do with any of this.
That's the one with the otaku who becomes a banchou right?
That was my initial plan, or still is my only plan really, the Edajima one ain't much of a hassle since there are only like 20 something, the Minmei stuff thought, there are 110 of those, that's 1/3 of the entire manga filled with beautiful bullshit. I tried looking for collage generators online but they don't work.
everytime something outrageous martial art or ridiculous weapon is shown in otokojuku (which happens almost every chapter) there is an excerpt from an imaginary book detailing it
if your manga doesn't have cyborg nazis then it's shit
I don't know, Nazi cyborg is pretty out there even for Otokojuku standards.
It tells the biography of Edajima. There are many references to actual historical people and Otokojuku lore (for example Togashi's father is a pilot who takes Edajima to China to fight with Mao).
He carries a lot of weird shit with him.
And that's all for today, thanks for reading.
Thanks man. Greatly appreciate it. I like reminiscing through my first read of KKOW with your threads. Have a great day delinquentanon
Just finished the second episode from the Be-Bop OVA, I'm wondering, are those supposed to be taken from the manga or just "filler" episodes? Also, Nakama is such a creep, no wonder he never gets any pussy. I was hoping to see scar guy animated, hopefully he's in some of the other episodes.
