I read them raw since scanlations are for scrubs.

I read from a phone from a manga app because reading manga on a horizontal screen is idiotic and I don't plan on buying a third monitor to have it in portrait mode.

I have a 27" pivotable Dell screen. Even tough I can flip it in portrait mode, being widescreen means that there are large black borders on top and botton. Most mangas are printed in 4:3 paper.

Shitty Ipad has the perfect aspect ratio for reading manga, but any 16:10 tablet would also be good I suppose Microsoft surface would be as good as ipad if not better, since it has a proper windows and is 3:2 (15:10) screen ratio.

Anyway, which is the best app for downloading manga? I wanted to read Girls Und Panzer on my Thinkpad 8 Tablet but I wanted to download all the chapters at once instead of scrolling on a web-based page which wouldn't have a proper scroll + rescale + touch support like a native manga/comic reading app have.
>>
Download the manga from madokami/nyaa/bbt and read on tablet with the Challenger Comics Viewer app.
>>
I download and read using MangaRock on my phone
It's a piece of shit but I'm too lazy so I just settle for that

I just use kissmanga and batoto. And if there's any problems with those. I'll just look in this thread for other alternatives. I just recently picked up reading manga literally a week ago with my new e-ink e-reader thing.
>>
>>133142123

But how? Downloaders like MangaCrazy and DomDom don't work anymore, do they?
>>
>>133140575
>>133136720

Oh wow, this still works? Forgot all about it. They added user authentication, will test it now (but I expect it'll work).
>>
>>133142167
I have no idea. I just bought my kobo e-reader a week ago and googled how to download manga. Yahoo answers lead me into Domdom and I just click the search thing with kissmanga and batoto as my search thing.

It just werks and there was only one time a manga page wasn't translated and I had to look for it online.
>>
>>133142199

Seems to work. FMD's interface was much better, though, hope someone fixes FMD and adds user authentication.
>>
>>133138848
You can have them all load on one page and look at page source info media and batch download it if you are desperate.
>>
I use madokami.

How does everyone keep track of releases? I really liked using this method http://pastebin.com/V6X0qFet (embed), but Yahoo Pipes is dead now. I really wish Manga Updates would make an rss for user lists.
>>
>>133142337
>I just click the search thing with kissmanga and batoto as my search thing.

when did you last do that? Batoto made usernames mandatory to foil scrapers, MangaCrazy hasn't been able to get past it yet.

Maybe DomDom's got a more active developer or something
>>
>>133137873
>batch download from Madokami

1. curl to store your login cookies
2. use said cookies to curl from series url. grep urls for each chapter
3. use said cookies to curl each url
4. rename the chapters/volumes because hex characters and inconsistent standards suck

>>133137873

>>
>>133142967

You can easily make your own RSS feed, hell there are even sites that will walk you through building one of your own (Feed43).
>>
>>133142967
>>133137084
>>
>>133135457
How does that even work.
At least use some private trackers.

I just use Madokami, only found 3~4 manga that weren't there because they were obscure as fuck (yes, I uploaded them afterwards).
>>
>>133143529

What manga? It's becoming a clusterfuck since the bot always scrapes from 5 different sites, so the recent uploads page is cluttered.
>>
>>133137873
Batch download what? Multiple series? All the chapters/volumes at once?
If it's the latter you can just get an extension for Chrome that opens all the links you select (like Linkclump) and it's easy and quick.
>>
>>133143729
Doesn't the website limit the # of downloads at the same time? I think the max is 6.
>>
>>133143619
Some Pokémon manga and Dragoon Utahime Five or something, I have uploaded other different, better scans but there's usually something there already, not currently publishing stuff tho.
I do generally clean the manga I'm following of duplicates (Kissmanga when there's batoto, etc) and fix filenames too.

>>133143808
Does it? I don't usually have a problem unless that's a really recent change.
>>
>>133143808
Uh, I tried it now and it's indeed only downloading 6 at a time, it does put the others on hold so it's no big deal (and considering you can only download so fast you don't want to be downloading 100 files at the same time anyway I guess) but I don't remember running into this before.
>>
>>133142967
You can follow manga on Madokami and check every once in a while. Also for ongoing manga get Mangaviewer Chrome app and it will notify you when a new chapter is released plus just browsing 4chan lets you know too.
>>
>>133135383
Autodownload tracked manga from Batoto when possible, Kissmanga when not
>>
>>133143885
>>133144052

It's been like that for a while(~1 year).

Yeah I mean it's fine. The site-owner probably doesn't want his bandwidth getting fucked. But it blows when there's individual chapters. I've had to download an entire series(~70 chapters); 6 chapters at a time.

I just put the chapters into volume-form and re-upped though.
>>
>>133143729
>Linkclump

Sweet i did not know about this, thanks. Useful for other stuff too.
>>
>>133144220
Actually, IE lets you download everything at the same time.

There has to be a better way.

How about just scraping the entire website?
>>
>>133145182

Well sure, just get teleport ultra and let it suck down the whole site.

How the hell do you even use that? Do you extract everything before reading? Does it have stretch to window?
>>
>>133144423
You go to irc and tell the admin to undo whatever he did when he switched servers. Same with new uploads not showing up in the recent uploads nor the notifications until someone actually checks the folder.
>>
>>133145959
If you're downloading from anywhere at least download from batoto since kissmanga compress shit badly sometimes, kissmanga is only good for reading online because of the all-pages feature most online readers don't have.

Anyone uses windows tablet for reading manga? What is the best touch-app to use with auto-zoom/fit and organizing chapters?
>>
>>133147368
I came to this thread to ask this exact question.
>>
>>133148830
I use "manga viewer", the icon is a sakuya image. It's the only app that allows you to zoom easily and still change pages, but the interface is very spartan and the library is a mess. The native touch app for watching images on windows 10 is a joke.
