I hope Banrise can at least write Kyubei in for the Shinsengumi Arc aftermath. It made no sense for her not to show up while Tae was on the run.

I think during the first Yoshiwara arc they had a sort of timeout at the start of some of the episodes to do small comedy skits in the odd jobs house. Maybe they'll do that for full episodes this time.

I don't think it'd be that odd. Shogun arc ends, then you get some random comedic stories, then the shinsengumi arc starts with Kondo and Matsudaira being accused of killing the shogun. The manga didn't do it, but I don't think they needed to happen right after each other. It could work even without any rewriting of the story itself.

We don't know how long it's going to be, but this run has 31 episodes already, so it probably will go up to 50 before stopping.

I think Shogun assassination ->missing comedic chapters -> Shinsengumi could work, but we'll see.

If they just go with Shogun -> Shinsegumi -> So on, we're going to end up stopping with some big cliffhanger.

Putting any comedy arcs after the Shogun arc won't work at all. I think it's best if they just leave them out.

The way I see it, since there was a bit of a time skip during the escape of Shige-Shige and his real assassination, they might continue with the comedy arcs after his escape and once they adapted ALL remaining chapters will then they adapt the shogun's death and funeral, which will trigger the Kondo rescue arc.

But yeah, I didn't think they'd adapt the Shogun Assassination arc so early. I guess we won't be getting stuff like the Love Potion arc animated unless they just adapt all those arcs anyway after the Assassination arc. I guess the Farewell, Shinsengumi arc is the actual 'ooint of no return' arc

Love Potion was terrible and I hope it just gets quietly left in the dust. The only good gag was Shinpachi's glasses and everything else was crud.
