Just wanted to start a discussion on how fellow Anons have been prepping their cards or gifts.
>How do I sign up?
Its closed, better luck next year.
Someone will be doing late cards/gifts possibly, and if they show up here you can join that!
Jebus of /a/ is open for Christm/a/s cds. More information in the archives.
Personally, I'm having a hard time finding the right material to make cards. Its always too flimsy. I'll have to head down to a different bookstore this evening to check things out.
>>133110310
Card stock. Or just buy blank cards.
>>133110427
Yes, the store I dropped by yesterday didn't have any of them. They have pretty good envelopes though.
>>133110310
At least post something Christmas as well.
>>133110774
I usually just lurk, so I don't have much pictures.
MS from JSThe main parts of your gift have arrived. I'd send it to you now but I have to integrate some special surprises.
>>133111992
Sorry I meantMS from NJ
I don't know where the fuck JS is supposed to be.
>>133110310
Is sign ups for card still open?
>>133112572
Officially, its all closed. With the exception of another organizer who does late cards/gifts. You will have to wait for them to show up.
>>133112572
The late exchange will start taking them sometime soon. I think Sunday or Monday, you can check archive for SpoonSanta I think for his email.
>>133110525
It's mindboggling how rare completely blank cards are.
I could only find them at Michaels, not even the fucking Hallmark store sold them.
>>133112658
>>133112624
Man, I have been late for the /ss/ events for two years in a row!
Do I have bad luck or something?
>>133112988
You just aren't dedicated enough, anon.
>>133112924
Its reasonable though. Assuming I'm a store owner, I'd think a decorated card would sell better, as compared to a blank card.
Not a harm to stock blank cards, but I could use the space to sell more decorated cards.
>>133112988
Instead of paying attention to the catalog, it might be better to check the archives closelynext year.
>>133112988
>signups started in August
>literally all you had to search was "Santa" in the archives
Granted, the archives were on the fritz but desustorage came up immediately after and recovered the original sign-up threads anyways.
>>133113528
>Granted, the archives were on the fritz but desustorage came up immediately after and recovered the original sign-up threads anyways.
Not the guy that missed it, but they didn't and search has been on and off for desustorage. I don;t know how he missed it last year though because there were threads every other day, but this year to keep on track of things, I needed to keep a crawler up that plays a loud as fuck alarm to wake me up in my sleep when these threads come up.
For anons that are sending out baked goods, when is the best time to send them out? I don't want mine to go rotten if my anon chooses to not open his gift until christmas.
>>133113691
It was intentionally lower key this year because they didn't want as many cross boarders.
>>133113761
Maybe write on the box that there's cookies inside? I was thinking of sending out baked goods too, but I worry my anon has allergies
>>133113691
I might be confusing it, actually. There were multiple sign-up threads I remember finding from the desustorage archive and linking to others, which means it had to have been available over the course of October (albeit, only when search worked). Which means they were being archived currently rather than restored.
Ah, well. There's always late cards and next year.
Dear JT from Ont, just to tell you I'm starting your gift this week.
>>133113761
Send a card ahead of time letting him know.
Make sure the actual gifts are wrapped up in the box, and just leave the food in some clear wrap on top
>>133113972
By the least, I think a simple site needs to be created to centralize certain information (FAQ, when it starts, etc),
but I'm afraid it will blow out of proportions and start doing things out of 4chan.
>>133114403
That's part of the issue. The objective was to reduce visibility so only regular /a/ users would be able to find it after considering the participants from previous years. Once you have all that information collected in one place and in a neat, organized presentation, it's much more visible to anyone and everyone. The archive itself limits that to a degree, though the moe archive dying wasn't part of that intention.
TIofWA, I'll be beginning work on your gift as soon as I get the chance to pick up materials (probably Friday.)
>>133114562
maybe we can organize the /ss/ sign up information into a google website like what the buyfags threads do.
Any tips for a kirie/paper-cutted art beginner? Found a good way of making 2 toned stencils using Adobe Illustrator but cutting the finer details like the line art with an Xacto has proven to be extremely hard. Maybe I just need to start with much simpler images.
>>133114562
Hmm, so the constant copy-pasting of the FAQ content was intentional?
It would be more neat if its in a pastebin by the least, but yeah I see why certain things were done like they are.
>>133114776
Wouldn't that expose some Anons information to the public? Like email, etc?
>>133114922
No, I meant that giving info for people to sign up in time not giving out personal information.
>>133114776
>>133114403
If you dont browse /a/ enough to find an /ss/ thread, you shouldnt participate. Fuck off
>>133114776
Potentially, yeah. I personally believe the current method is alright, if not for the disruption on the archive. It makes it so people that are aware of the event already know where to look, anyone that missed it the previous year as well, and for anyone that is still somehow unaware, the threads each week will be sufficient. I agree that it's good to reduce the overall number of entries since there was grinching/crossboarders previously and this seems to be the most effective way without having a centralized /ss/ page.
>>133114620
>first time seeing my initials pop up
I'm so excited now
>>133115041
Finding an /ss/ thread is one issue. Knowing how it works is another. As mentioend in >>133114922 my concern was largely on the FAQ.
The FAQ does not cover everything, and I had to dig through the archives to know how certain things work.
>>133115203
>still havent seen my initials pop up
Should I be worried?
>>133115813
People got their assignments less than a week ago. Expect them to pop up in the next month at some point.
Or maybe your /ss/ is secretive and you'll never know until it arrives.
>>133115813
I got grinched last time when I didn't see my initials pop up. Hoping it doesn't happen again this year.
>>133115813
>>133115861
Just check on archive and other threads sometimes.
>>133115813
most people don't ship until end of november or a little later if its same country/state/province
I am sick of PO boxes and postal stores. I am not going to murder you retards, and postal stores cause problem half the time because of size, name, and return address requirements that are specific to your store
Tfw grinched
>>133115041
You are completely right anon. I should have browsed /a/ 10 hours a day and noticed the occasional Santa threads.
>>133116630
I know that's sarcasm but you should be browsing at least 14 hours a day.
>>133116626
Want me to send you a card then?
>>133116724
But Anon, I was being serious. I really should browse /a/ more effectively.
>all these fucking secondaries trying to have their own ss thread
>>133113691
Tell me more about that crawler if you are still browsing this thread.
Thank god I caught this thread in time.
Yes, i'm still open for Christm/a/s CD's and whoever wants one just needs to send me a list of their favorite anime along with their address.Yes, they're free.I'll be taking them for the next couple of days.
>>133117307
count me in then.
>>133117307
Forget my email.
[email protected]
>>133117307
I don't actually want one but I do think it would be funny to make you have to look up a bunch of really obscure shit that you can't just youtube
>>133117568
Bring it, pleb.
>>133116029
I had to put a PO box down because I'll be moving around in the next few months and my actual address will vary depending on when the package actually gets here. I did explain this to my santa though and told him to contact me if this turned out to be a problem.
>>133117307
I'll take one, thanks a lot
>anon lists a bunch of series and no wishlist
>I've only seen one of the shows and it has no merch he wouldn't already have
I might be able to binge a single cour show to find best girl but I don't know the depths of bullshit that international shipping can bring.
>>133117956
What shows? I almost feel like this might be me.
>>133117307Thanks Merry Christmas!
>>133117956
Just gift him merchandise from two or more shows listed. I've done that the last time and it worked out fine.
>>133117601
lets start with an easy one then that I was able to youtube
"Useless Father"
>>133117992
The one I plan to bank on is Love Live.
>>133116630
Every thread lasted well over 12 hours
>>133117956
>no wishlist
What do you think he listed the shows for? Were you expecting direct links to online stores?
>>133118117
That's more like an anime you can't even google. What's the japanese title?
>>133118124
Not me then. Good luck, anon.
>>133114403
>>133114776
>trying to centralize /ss/ signup info/FAQ
Yeah sure. Let's make it easier for crossboarders and outsiders to join. Why not make an instructional pic and spread it everywhere we can while we're at it?
>>133118117
Is that the one with the dumb beta husband who gets beat by his wife a lot?
>>133118591
yes
>>133118230
From the signup
>Wishlist (Don’t be afraid to post links like MAL, or say you like a character or series. You can be as specific or as vague as you want here, this is ultimately to help the other /a/non in selecting a gift for you. Please don't just put "Surprise me."):
>>133118569
I don't get it. What wrong with more people joining?
>>133118569
>Why not make an instructional pic and spread it everywhere we can while we're at it?
there actually was one this year
>>133118621
I don't' see the appeal of such a show.
Whats good about it?
>>133118650
Last time I checked MAL doesnt sell merchandise
>>133118652
Outsiders are more likely to grinch or to give shitty/off-topic gifts.
Plus, this is supposed to be a secret santa for /a/nons, not a big secret santa hosted by /a/.
>>133118569
>>133118666
Still surprised it was a thing or that anyone thought it needed to be made in the first place, but I guess that goes to show how often people might make errors when sending their signup e-mails.
>>133118725
I thought the secret is suppose to be the sender of the gifts not a secret annual event.
>>133118806
ok yeah whats the problem if we just invite /v/, reddit, and MAL? The more the merrier right?
>>133118806
It's not a secret club, it's just that we want to form a community with our fellow anons. That's like being upset that an office party doesn't invite people from another business over.
If you just want a giant internet secret santa for anyone at all, there's stuff like reddit or imgur. This is /a/ themed for /a/nons.
>>133118666
The latter half of the sentence is important.
>>133118652
Are you seriously asking that? More anons from /a/ isn't a problem. More people from other parts of 4chan or the internet trying to get in on this for free loot is.
I think I'll spoil anon a bit if I can. His 3x3 wasn't too bad, but I really agreed with some of them.
>>133118621
>http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1298
Found it. Guess i'm not as pleb as I thought.
SSS here. I just want to share something nice with everyone participating this year. I had been in talks with Peter Payne, the owner of J-List, and as a gift from he and I, we created a 10% off discount code that can only be used by /ss/ on J-List.
If you would like the code just give me an e-mail and I'll send it on over.
>>133117956
Crap. I might've been too vague in my wish list. Sorry to the anon who got me.
>>133118982
>got 90% of my shit ordered already
Fuck
>>133118652
far harder to organize
last year iirc was like 300 or so people and this year i think i saw one of them say its about 500
>>133118709
it's an overly honest show, similar appeal as dr katz
it's not aged well or anything though so it's a bit of nostaligia mixed in
>>133118958
good work
>>133118982
>J-List
>>133118982
So...free shipping then? Sign me the fuck up.
I'm surprised he's doing anything for a board on 4chan.
>>133117296
It uses the 4chan json api and just searches the catalog for santa loli's trip or a thread that has secret santa in the title.
Late cards will start up on this Friday or Saturday depending on how I feel. If you need a reminder or just want an early in, send me an e-mail.
[email protected]
>>133115373
If it wasn't on the FAQ someone would probably be willing to answer. Well I would at least.
>>133119051
I still wouldn't watch it though. I already hate tsunderes just for their abusive behavior, I couldn't stand an anime where the wife abuses the husband because she gets off on it.
>>133119051
>last year iirc was like 300 or so people and this year i think i saw one of them say its about 500
300 was the year before. Last year was 500
>>133118982
What was that glitch you were talking about back in October?
>>133119107
You know that's not the actual organizer, right?
>>133118911
>>133118879
>>133118874
Ok then, I do agree now that only /a/nons should get to sign up for this.
>>133118982
Well, I'm doing the late card event so I can't take advantage of this.
>>133119104
christ how many was this year then?
>>133119127
I know. But he was being all mysterious and shit about it.
>>133119127
>I don't read every /ss/ thread
>>133119139
probably not much more with way less threads and the archive crapping out. Somehow I still managed to get matched with someone who has been here less than a year
>>133119104
Be grateful we're not hitting reddit tier numbers. They're already at 10,000.
Not that I would know or anything.
>>133119191
for the anime reddit or all of reddit?
>>133119051
Last year had over 500 participants and there was a larger number of grinching compared to previous years.
I got my gift but out of signing up for 6 cards I only received 2.
>>133119208
I saw it was /r/anime but I could be wrong.
>>133119094
Me too, I also can't tolerate overly beta men since their behavior really annoys me.
>>133119191
>10,000
holy crap! How does they organize THAT?
>>133110525
Finally found a bunch of blank cards. The texture might not be right for drawing, but I could draw it on another paper then stick it on.

>>133119242
Probably with no filtering and some automatic shuffling system.
>>133119265
well, at least it would be easy for them to filter reddit
>>133119242

How do others feel about getting matched with people having similar tastes?
I know the Santas said they tried to match people up but I don't think that's necessarily better, buying gifts for my assignment feels like I'm just buying stuff for myself (very similar wishlist). Last year I got given some fujo with terrible taste but I felt it was more fun trying to find something because her taste was so different compared to mine.
Not that it really matters either way, just a thought.
>>133125247
My anon's taste is a bit different to mine, but looking back on mine I didn't give anything away. I apologize sincerely to my anon.
>>133125247
>the Santas said they tried to match people up
Did they?
My matches only had maybe one or two aspects in common, the rest I have to look up and research. I kind of wish their lists were more similar. It's easier to find quality merchandise when you know a bit more about the series and characters you're buying.
>>133125247
afaik they try to make requests for matching up like same province same country, but I don't know anything about them trying to wedge peoples tastes together, would be pretty insane to do that for so many people.
especially with how vague the categories would have to be to do so
>>133125414
Maybe I misunderstood.
Either way I probably just got unlucky that I got matched with what could very well be my separated at birth twin.
>>133125247
You're more than welcome to request a fujo every time, to save someone else from the hassle.
I had one a couple of years back, and it was definitely not as fun.
>>133125306
The last two years they seem to have just seen SnW and matched me up with other wotobros, even though the other shows were different.

>>133126399
no. your soul has already been deleted
>compare my list to my assignments
I wrote a sentence and he wrote an essay. Was it better to write more or less?
>>133126715
Depends on what the sentence is. If you're really specific and only really want stuff from the monogatari series and eva then that isn't really an issue because there's a lot of merch available for them.
However if you say your favourite shows are: Kill me baby, Serial Experiments lain and FLCL then it's significantly harder.
>>133126806
Fair enough, I think what I put should be fine since it just for a card then.
>>133126715
the amount of information you put into the words is what matters more.
it is always important to be concise, but paraphrasing things in such a way that it seems like a grocery list is a bit impersonal I think.
there is really no right or wrong way to do it, but you can't go wrong with more as long as you're providing new information as you talk instead of reiterating the same thing several times.
>>133114780
I did my first one yesterday with scissors and how I did it was I printed out a buncha copies and glued them onto cardsrock, then just cut out the parts I wanted and peeled off the paper.

Don't worryTYfromSGI'm not giving you anything bad.

>already $20 over budget and haven't bought the main gift yet
Every time.
Already bought my anon's gifts, waiting for them to arrive from Japan. Anon just listed shows and said "I already have most of the merch of my waifu" so I just bought several small items.
I've been grinched once and someone once openly complained that he hated my gifts (and my cookies were "decent"), then immediately resold them, so that made me sad. Hopefully this year will be better.

It's my first year doing this, so I just went for cards, but the /a/non gave me quite the list of his favorites.I'm scared to reply and not meet his expectations since I don't draw well and have to look up 99% of his list.
Anybody have tips for newfags?
>>133128939
Just put some effort in and you'll be fine. I suck at drawing so I trace and fill in colors with watercolor/color pencil/fine liners. Make sure it doesn't look like you hastily threw it together and you'll be fine.
You can also try crafting your card using cutouts for example.
>>133128939
Examples?
You could pick a 12-episode one and watch it.
>>133127406
I thought it was a shot in the dark. I currently have a couple items stored at FJ, so if I happened to find anything else my gift recipient might be interested in I could buy it and add it to my order before it gets shipped out.

By cutouts I meant cutting out different coloured paper and sticking it onto the card.

>>133140267
Not really much, just some drawings included, their waifu made from felt like a brooch and a small paintedbottle, will add more when I have ideas
It's time to make cards again
Is sending unassembled garage kits a bad tone?
>>133140377
is that crab?
>>133140433
If your anon isn't experienced with GKs or didn't ask for them then yeah probably.
>>133139503
>>133139585
Including shipping is shit tier.
should have gone to a lower tier if you are strapped for cash
>>133140433
It depends on their wishlist. I'm into kits and I wouldn't buy one unless they said they liked them too.
I got lucky and mine said they were into plamo, so I went almost all out with kits.
I just hope my Anon like child drawing since it won't be better.
>tfw forgot to choose the shipping option and went with EMS
at least it'll arrive early
>>133140474
Judging by his MAL he's really new so yeah, I guess that isn't an option. Poor guy wouldn't get his waifu, then, there's no prepainted figures of her.
I realized only now that I needed to reply to the /ss/ email.
Fuck, hopefully I didn't fuck this up.
>>133140959
What /ss/ e-mail? I never got one, but I did get assignments.
Does that mean I'm on a whitelist of some sort?
>>133141097
Read the end of your assignment list.
>>133141097
The Santa's ask you to reply to their assignment mail to know you are still participating, at least they did in mine.
>>133139576

I swear I've seen this initial/location for gifts multiple times throughout the threads.
>>133141097
>>133140959
You guys need to send back an e-mail to confirm the fact that you're doing the SS.
>>133141163
I've mentioned it twice, once in this thread, and again in the santaloli thread.
He's probably giving/getting multiple gifts.
>>133110310
I was a dumbss and didn't know mandarake didn't taje paypal for 18+ orders. Have to use credit card, but have to wait because they are having system problems.RBfromFL
I'm not gri.ching you. You will get your gifts.but if it looks like they won't get to you before december, I'll send them after december as you requested
I hope the gifts I send aren't total shit.
So my anon would like Spice and Wolf from Yen press volumes 9+. Problem is he didn't specify if it was the manga or novel. I'm confused.
>>133141202
What if he signed up with multiple e-mail and physical addresses but only intends to be greedy?
>>133141358
Porque no los dos?
>>133141374
If he did that he would go all the way and use a different name/initials too anon.
>>133141374
So you're gonna grinch him just because YOU think he might grinch someone else? That's pretty low man.
>>133141374

That wouldn't be very clever of him.
>>133141395
Expect some stuff then. Maybe a bit late, but it'll get there

What's the name of the new archive again? I wanna check if someone posted my initials.

>>133141786

>>133141806No, zero idea how that works
>>133141777
Go read your country's postal service guidelines about mailing letters.
>>133141885
Generally, you put what you mail in an envelope and place a stamp on the top right corner, the weight/distance determining how many/which stamps to use.
Look up your countries guidelines on mailing shit.
JTfromSwedenI couldn't find anything so I improvised, hopefully you will like it.MPfromAustriaandMfromPolandI ordered your shit today.
I should start working on the cards soon.
>>133141885
Wow, well that's okay. Put it in an envelope, pay the correct postage and stick it in a mail box.
If you aren't sure, take it to the post office and ask. Or look it up online.
It is possible to send cards as postcards, but there are guidelines for those as well.
How do you anons send your gifts?
Just as wrapped boxes?
The gift wrapped inside a box?
>>133143525
Send wrapped gifts in a box.
Looking for my name I forgot I hadn't posted to alleviate grinch fear.
Btw anyone have CD from UK?AM from UKPO / POS from LuxembourgM M P from Latvia
You won't be grinched :3A S F (OMG COOL NAME) from GermanyLC from BelgiumB W from UKJ D A USA
You will receive badly drawn characters via ms paint and lots of love in my cards!
>>133143525
i'm sending my box wrapped in pic related
>>133143525
Wrapped gifts in box with enough packing material to prevent damage.
>wrapped box
DO NOT do this. USPS (and most other countries' post services) stated year after year that they hate this. The wrapping will either snag in their vastly automated machinery and rip off (and clog up the line) or human workers will rip it off if they suspect that the wrapping might be concealing something.

>>133144358
UPS, FedEx, and DHL are generally 2X the price of USPS for Americans and not a good deal unless you're shipping through your company that has a shipping agreement in place with one of those private couriers.
>>133144544
True, but I've has issues with USPS multiple times and UPS has been fantastic with delivery and prices.

Is it bad to just buy movies? All of my SS anons requested that as a turn-to if I couldn't into merchandise or models. I'll throw in some manga and chocolate on the side, but I feel bad looking at what some anons are doing.
>>133145092
Not really. Sometimes that's what anons ask for. One of mine did and I hooked up that nigga up.
>>133145092
I know personally I wouldn't mind getting my favorite anime series on DVD. But if you're iffy, you can check the buyfag general and the link will give you everything you need to find something good off Amiami. Buyfagging isn't that hard.
>>133137028
>my initials
>>133145208
Fug. I just realized two of mine never mentioned having a Blu-Ray player. Do most anons have one in this day and age?
>>133145427
DVD players are universal, but Blu-Ray are a bit less common.
>>133145534
Fug. I need to go review my purchases.
>>133145427
I think with the right programs, you should be able to play BDs on a computer.
If not, if I got a BD of my favorite show, I wouldn't open the BD anyways since I'd long since have downloaded and watched the BD rip. I'd save the gift for collector/display value.
>>133145427
I can't speak for everyone but I always thought that owning the Blu-Ray or DVD of a show is more of a collectors thing than something that you actually watch. To pirate something is just way more convenient than to put in a DRM ridden disc.
At least that's how I do it.
>>133145690
>I always thought that owning the Blu-Ray or DVD of a show is more of a collectors thing than something that you actually watch.
If that was the case, people would just outright ignore the US versions and go straight for the JP releases, which is impossible because lol we're poorfags.
>>133145662
Because of how optical storage works (a bunch of bumps arranged so they reflect the laser back, or don't (to simulate 1s and 0s)), you need a differently calibrated laser (as Blu-Ray has a lot smaller bumps, so you need a smaller laser) in your disk tray to read them, it's a hardware thing.
Yo Monchichi
I spend a ton of time making shit for my waifu, so I figured I'd make something for yours too.

>>133146271
Thanks for the feedback. I'm relatively new to illustrator.
By pairs you mean one on each side of the line right?
First year of /ss/ and I'm suffering with depression and I'm not used to buyfaggotry butPKfromUKwhile I'm not familiar with gunpla at all I gotta say Beargguy is hella qt. I'm still looking for some other nice things, wish I had the cash to spoil you with a KMB fig or whatever but I chose the lowest tier for a reason...JB,JL, andTW-Hall fromUKwill get something either drawn (composited and traced) by myself or drawn by my 7yo daughter who is "rubbish at drawing things".
Is it poor form to make all your cards from the same template? I want to do better than last year(garbage), but I've only been able to come up with one good idea.
>>133146626
I look forward to your card, anon
>>133146513
>By pairs you mean one on each side of the line right?
Yep, that's it. I'd suggest you take a look at the illustrator tutorial we have in the OP of the vector thread over at /w/ if you haven't already. It's a lengthy tutorial but it goes over all you need to make nice and smooth lines. If you need any other help, ask on the vector thread and I'll make sure to answer you. Take your time with it and good luck.
>>133146817

Awesome. I'll give it a watch.
Thanks for all the help anon.
Gwith a very long name fromSweden, I will do my best to get your present to you on time. I am in the US and never sent an international package before.
I've only seen my initials/states once, and it was for a card. I know there's very few in my state, but any anon out there get someone fromNM?
>work from home, computer busted, had to spend reserved christmas money to fix, lost a week of work and have ridiculous bills to pay

>>133148068
It's okay /a/non! We're okay with them coming a little late! It's mainly the thought that counts!
>>133148068

Holy fuck thats expensive. That's even worse than crunyrolls absurd prices.
>>133148068
Better be late than grinch, anon. Besides do what >>133148485 said.
I've ordered the main part of my gift, now I just need to find something small to add to it.
ATfromFinlanI got you. Donmai
>>133129428
Haru, campione? That has to be me.
I will love anything you send me anon, I value love over quality drawings.
Just give it your best.
For those of you in the $100 range
Is it better to receive multiple medium quality $30-50 gifts or is it better to receive a $90-$100 awesome gift?
I'm sending cookies on top of it.
So quantity or quality?
>>133149239
I think either would work as long as the $30 items are not bad quality.
>>133149239
I liked it better when I got a few things rather than 1 large thing.
>>133149239
Did they list anything specific like nendoroids, figmas or figures?
>>133149239
I personally would prefer a few gifts over a single one, but that's just me.
>>133128939
>>Anybody have tips for newfags?
>>133149239
I struggled with that too. Eventually I went with variety/quantity instead of one expensive gift with maybe a lower priced gift.
The stuff I got is still good though, I just didn't blow the whole budget on one really nice statue.
Of course if you decide to do the one expensive gift I'm sure your anon would still be thrilled. I would be.
>>133148542
>>133148485
>>133148262
Yeah, I think I'll be emailing the organizers soon.I actually got assigned to someone who made me ridiculously happy last year, so I'm really excited.
>>133149440
No, just their taste.
I usually get my /ss/'s multiple gifts, however this year there's an awesome figure of one of their favorite characters that came out this year and its in the $80 range, so if I got them something else it only be in the $20 range, so like one awesome gift and a bleh gift, or 2-3 $30-50 meh gifts.
Then again I could get him the $80 awesome gift and get him a $20 personalized gift like a mug, hat, snow globe ect.
>>133149239
If there is a really good item for $100, I'd take that. If the $100 item (i.e. figure) is shitty or looks bad, I'd rather have multiple smaller but quality items that make up the bracket.
Hi guys
>>133149677
It's really up to you. I don't think the anon would hate either of them.
Does anybody have any suggestions for something under $20 from one of the these series Non Non Biyori, Castle Town Dandelion, Spice and Wolf? I was thinking maybe manga but they might already have it.
How would people feel about getting manga in japanese if they can't read it?

Thank you for the confirmation! That is a great relief. I look forward to the thought and effort you put in, particularly since I am not artistic and that sort of stuff always impresses.
Concerning the concerns of me being a grinch:
If you participated last year you saw the gift I gave out because it was in every thread after it was opened before Christmas.
All three of my giftees will be receiving their gifts, and I am working on my cards tonight. These threads make me so happy after work, I love you all.
>>133149891
You can mix it up with manga/LN and a keychain or two. I think with the JP version, it'd be nice to have for collecting as long as the anon doesn't already own it.
MB of DE, you have great taste. I got you some stuff I think you'll like, and I'll also be including some stuff I like that you might too.AZ of GA, I'm not very good at drawing, but I'll be practicing all next week to try and get better in time to send your card before the Christmas Crunch after Thanksgiving happens.

>>133149891
Check for limited edition manga that might come with straps or tshirts. Alternatively send them a tanuki with a name sticker that reads Gu.
>>133141307
