The glory of Hiramoto should not be forgotten
>Someone knows something about art
>"oh boy here we go"
What's the problem here? It's the only one with real perspective and decent values. Any artist would agree that this one shows the most technical ability. That doesn't mean the others are bad, and it doesn't mean this is the best. It's just the only one I found impressive.
I could post cityscapes from I am a Hiro but I don't have em saved right now.
Acktually it's about blues.
Cityscapes are this awkward middle ground where they're difficult to work with yet easy to make. I'd love to see some that are great.
That's actually a shame... oh well.
The dude does really detailed drawings.
The manga is I am a Hero and there isn't that many super scary scenes.
It's a zombie manga but the zombies are pretty fucking scary as you could tell from that pic.
That persons also a good horror writer.
He didn't even jumpscare with that image.
We saw her slowly crawl on the floor for 2 pages before they showed us her face. He's that kinda horror mangaka, one I really respect for not doing cheap jumpscares
Fair enough. You know how it goes with debating technical ability in manga threads though, it's always a shitfest.
Also I strongly disagree that it's impressive since I think it's likely a trace. Simply put, manga isn't a format for that kind of ridiculous realism and detail.
>implying I'm American
>implying you don't live in a third world shit hole that eats America's waste for breakfast.
True, it's still a nice page.
I was hoping it wasn't a trace, that's why I'm disappointed to find that it was. Still, it's a well done page.
Yeah, I don't read horror manga, but I imagine it involves suddenly putting a scary monster into frame over a page turn.
Of course it's not nearly as effective as a jumpscare in a movie or tv show.
I don't know, but if its already fucking out then the translators need to get to work.
As a blues and jazz fan, I sperg out when the two are mixed.
Yea it is.
He showed her moving towards our view from 2 pages before we saw her face. So we had that sort of sickening tension as we read it.
He could of just started by showing us her creepy ass face. That would of spooked us, but showing her crawling towards us first was way creepier.
He showed us her fucking crabwalking towards the door like a bug.
The tension was fucking unbearable, as soon as I saw her face I was like oh shit....
then when I turned the page it transitioned into an even closer image of her face.
Yea but I am a hiro doesn't really jumpscare you. You saw the zombie coming and approaching 2 pages before you saw her horrific face.
The managaka is really good about tension.
I feel like this is one of those Berserk spreads that was way too ambitious and didn't really get perfected. It's cool and all but it looks like it needed a bit more time to finish.
What does /a/ think about Shoukoku no Altair?
Dumping my favorite spreads
No,I just got good eyes
If a drawing is too perfect(lines being too straight, everything looking too symmetrical) it's easy to tell something is off and it's usually because it's digitally drawn by computers
The only version of "the heart" I have is this, forgive me
Gantz is pretty well executed, but it still has all the typical 3d trace issues. The characters have good proportions, but often look kinda wonky or flat, and all of the action shots look like still frames.
There's a fair bit of photobashing too. Look at the building behind the action, the ruins to the right and the street to the left.
There are some things that must never be posted anon.
hey I keep hearin absolutely amazing things about Legend of the Galactic Heroes but ive never gone around to watch it due to length nad maybe how its aged, would people still consider it worth watching? ive watched only a few gundam shows (g gundam, wing and the first 2 original movies I think,, and if iti s worth watching is there an effective way of viewing it? thanks I also enjoyed shows liked texnhnoyze and last I looked for an effective torrent tjere were no seeds for the show: any adviice? thanks
He's really far from being the best, but I always really liked his spreads and panelings. Last chapter of Sora no Otoshimono really had some great scenes.
These threads are great
You don't even know what rec threads are anymore, fuck off
At some point it became Crazy Architecture: The Manga.
This shit is so fucking good holy fuck
cant find a higher res version
I love that you can feel how strong that punch is
its not just because of the blurry effect, it is the dinamic position of the punch that goes toward the viewer, the body structure, faces and everything
There was quite a few good pages in Green Blood but I can't be asked to go through it again to pick them out.
Sun ken rock was beautiful
>Tumbler filename I'm not usually anal about these things but is it really that difficult to rename it? Also heres a high-res version
Wolf Guy or something. I tried to read that so many times because the art was so nice but jesus christ it's twilight-tier garbage. Pisses me off just thinking about it.
What a waste.
I thought it was an okay romance manga, at least because of the art. What really made me drop it was the fucking volume long ntr gangbang, the suffering felt like it went on forever.
Murata is fucking great.
Shit makes me feel really uncomfortable.
Ishikawa did a great job making it intimidating as fuck
Morinaga's character designs a cute.
Ishikawa did a good job at everything
Kyomu Senki has a lot of high-quality stuff like this because it's a manga about fighting Lovecraftian Buddhist horrors
All muh dick tier
i was disappointed when i didn't see this in the anime. I The fight was good and everything and they even expand it, but still would have loved to see these shots. Same goes for the Genos v Saitama fight in ep 5.
i'm getting strangely erect about later parts of bblade
>mangafox, mangaghere and mangareader all implemented a shit flash loading before their pages
>free manga downloader don't works anymore because of this
>can't read glorious art
What is the next download solution ?
It happened too fast
>Currently reading Boys on the Run
>Just started today
>It's another one of Kengo's works
All I have to say is fuck Oda, fuck Tekko, fuck Hiromi.
This is the best girl he's ever made, and I am so fucking glad she is not in a zombie apocalypse right now.
Yabuki himself is a god, so everything he draws is god-tier.
I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but I love the way this is drawn.
That's really shitty. It just has a lot of details, but the drawing is still bad.
Kingdom is pretty awesome, too bad the anime was such shit
When a thread starts with two of my favorites
And then continues by remingind me of one of the most stunning manga I ever read.
Somehow stopped reading when they pulled the "no food for you because we talked China into buying glass"-trick. Did it continue?
And then there's my high res version.
Curious that this hasn't been posted yet
If all it takes to impress you is very over-empahsised perspective accomplished with drawing software then your opinion isn't worth much..
Punpun's art is nothing to write home about.
I don't like like when threads like these when they devolve into a competition of "who can post most pages with art done in a realistic tone with a shitton of unnecessary details".
Personally I prefer manga with art that has a sense of style and is actually recognizable, although that might just be me.
Honestly, I think either would work. I would actually say that having the top picture and then the going to the bottom picture would be better than either of the two individually.
I loved this manga. RIP.
The art of this guy always feels over-stylized, with too much shadowing/inking and similar effect, trying to hide how stiff and unnatural it is besides that. Less shadows and more dynamism, and maybe it would become readable without cringing.
C'mon mate. hat manga has better examples. At least post the stain one.
I tried reverse imaging it but I got a weird error saying the image is not publicly available anymore... could someone please give me the sauce? I looked up Green Blood but it doesn't seem like its related.
TL;DR I did my homework, sauce please.
Obligatory cause its a manhwa but still its a fucking masterpiece
I remember reading this, great read, do you have the one of the FUUGA members and their flag (if that's what they were called)
Oh, so that's what it's from.
Kind of embarrassing dude, get reading
I feel there's a distinct lack of Shirow in this thread, so just have some random sexy from him. His old art from 20-30 years ago isn't bad either, GITS had some very cool spreads.
how can you consider this good art?
Honestly this has pretty good Art over all
All the other noteworthy chink ones were posted so might as well round it off.
Altair was posted already, but I like this spread.
Just wish there was no white gap in the middle.
Is there a place yet with a good selection and high quality scans? Since mangatraders died manga reading became hell for people like me who like to download and read on a good image viewer instead of online reading.
How can a still image contain so much motion?
You do now Oda did not draw 90% of that page right?
Actually, while we're on that, almost all of these pages here are not even "art" in the sense you scrubs mean. They are either tracing or just drawing from reference with rulers and all that type of tool by a whole team.
Not nearly as impressive as it looks.
I'm not "accusing"anyone of anything. I'm just stating a fact: Manga are made on a schedule so in order to get these huge detailed pannels they HAVE to trace/make extensive use of various tools. There's nothing wrong with that.
I didn't say that. If the guy had said "no love for one piece?" I wouldn't have said a thing. But attributing the whole page to a single artist when he probably had minimal workload on it seems unfair.
You're right. Some mangaka go out and photograph places themselves to either reference or trace them. Still, if you're really good it would be more time consuming to trace. I believe it's more a thing of tracing when the general quality of the manga is rather bad with some rare quality pages. Oda is a good example of that, his art is pretty bad except for some specific pages.
Someone like Inoue Takehiko? No way he traces. His quality is consistent, at this point it would make you crazy to trace, you would probably hate your job so much to kill yourself.
But his backgrounds have gotten a bit less detailed. I loved his mid to late Blame! stuff and his Biomega stuff. Sidonia, visually, was not as good. It was still great, though, because Nihei is just that good.
Oh sure! You can't just trace everything. Tracing is mostly useless when drawing landscapes and plantlife, etc. It's more of a tol for drawing large cityscapes or very geometric patterns and whatnot because those don't lend themselves to free-hand drawing.
I wouldn't be surprised if he used references though, like patterns for the grass, trees, etc. which is fucking fair enough when you draw so much of it and want more diversity.
I feel like in Sidonia he just stopped caring after his daughter told him lolusuck and just rushed to end it.
Even then, his scribbles in Sidonia still look amazing. And the covers for the Blame! re-issues are fucking beautiful so you know he still has it.
Dorohedoro is as unsettling as it is because of the art. The story and characters are definitely crazy, but the talent of the artist really drives the batshit insanity home. I'm sad it's ending soon, but I'm also hopeful that the mangaka will create a new series that is just as wonderful.
Yeah, references are pretty much a must for everything you didn't draw a million times already.
You can see Araki often in his drawing videos referencing poses from Da Vinci's sculptures.
I dont know, I own all the physical volumes
not that you need it, just get the reprints. Most volumes have 0 dialogue anyway.
Yeah, but I do like the story, so the few pages with dialogue are important to me. Besides, I have two volumes in English already plus Noise, I'd love to get the remaining eight.
Idk but I'm currently reading this work of art.
When I think of god-tier manga art I think of god tier page layouts, not highly detailed art.
This page impresses me more than anything in this thread.
That's a pretty bad case of blue balls.
pic related, Rise of the Yokai clan. Underrated artist.
Just finished rereading this (and reading the last volume they released).
I knew that shit would happen to Oda, but that twist chapter was cool. I wonder if Hiromi is a mutant or a queen bee
he draws great butts too, while maintaining his unique retro style.
I belive is from Wandering Island.
