The only reason 00 was even being allowed to be produced is fact that Seed Destiny became the best selling anime of all times at that time. Over million DVDs for Destiny alone sold by 2005 already. First vollume of seed sold over 100k copies. By summer 2014 over 10 million SEED gundam kits were sold, and that not counting Destiny later. Not counting the giant OST sales and lots of other merchandize, manga, novels etc.

No other Gundam show comes even near.
