I've been doing 100 pushups a day to mimic Saitama for giggles. I've been doing it for an entire month, I'm pretty devoted. I didn't do the other exercises tho. The results are HIGHLY disappointing.
Basically, there are no results. I'm not stronger nor do I look stronger, also I am no damaged at all from doing so many every day. Just thought you guys would like to know it is a waste of time.

But have you been eating your oats?

He gained the power through commitment, not the exercise itself.

You settled for something less, like Garou. You lacked Saitama's absolute commitment. And that's why he's a Caped Baldy, and you're just a man.
>>
I love how relatively easy are Saitama's training regimen. Like doing 100 of the basic exercises plus 10k every day is doable yet for the average Joe it would seem impossible.
>>
>I've been doing 100 pushups a day
No you haven't. You've been doing some 20x5 set crap like a little bitch you are. Saitama did 100 pushups in one go.

I actually did the whole training too some time ago.
I did it without compromise, all the stuff without pause, all in a row.
I only last for a week. I was forced to stop cause I actually couldn't move my arms anymore. Couldn't sleep too because my arms were so badly hurt I couldn't stay in a position to get some rest.
I think I had to wait 2 weeks before it start to get better.

I hate this 'train HURD, get RESURDS' meme that exists in every anime. Working out isn't that simple. After about 8 pushups, all you're doing is increasing your endurance. Also, doing a particular strength exercise every single day is counter-productive as your muscles need time to rest in order to repair themselves and grow stronger (google "overtraining").
>>
I did Saitama's regime as a stupid teenager. It doesn't do much anything strength-wise, but ruins your joints because of the constant banging. Your endurance will be inhuman, though, I'm talking about never getting tired, ever.

Anyway, if you want to start with 100 reps per exercise, you got to reduce the range of motion and work up to full rom over time. Basically, just go up and down a few inches on the pushups for a start, 100 reps is possible then. After some months, you will probably be able to do 100 full push ups. Same thing with the situps and squats. Though for those, taking a short break between reps is easier than in push ups. Just go for a very slow jog for the running.
>>
>>133082799
As someone extremely out of shape I would like to know more about what you mean by "range of motion" and if the fact I'm a fatass changes anything when starting out.

>>133078501
>Famuree
>>
What if I do 50 pushups, situps, squats, and a 5km run every day instead?
>>
>>133082867
RoM stands for Range of Motion. 1 rom is essentially one repetition. So if you were doing a push up, you would start with your arms full extended, you would then lower yourself until your chin or chest touched the ground and then you would raise yourself until your arms are fully extended. This would be 1 rom.

1/2 rom would be lowering yourself halfway and then pushing back up.

1/4 rom would be bending your arms slightly, then returning to the first position.
>>
>>133082867
Just move for a few inches during the exercise. Don't do a full push up, just go down a few inches and push yourself up, just bend your arms a little instead of bending them fully in a pushup. Reduce the distance until you can do 100 reps. Also, you can google "range of motion" in the context of exercise, you know?

>>133082901
Not really. And your form will get better just by doing lots of pushups anyway.

just a little above average actually, you could do it in 40 minutes, 60 if you jog the whole way.
>>
You guys realize his routine is supposed to be a joke right? This takes like fifteen minutes, with a bunch of fucking breaks in between.

>>133086604
Not as hard as you might think given that you're clearly quite lazy. I am also "not a sport guy" and Sataima's routine used to be a portion of my own. Calisthenics are not my favorite though. Feels more right to move heavy shit around slowly, I dunno. Anyway, FITNESS IS FOR LIFE and you should all be ashamed if you aren't taking good enough care of yourself to be able to keep up with a joke training routine.
>>
>>133087656
>15 minutes
>Bunch of breaks in-between
It's not 15 minutes if there are a number of breaks. There's still the 10 km of running each and every day. That's pretty much 40-50m even if you do it straight with no walking breaks.

I think you're overestimating basic fitness requirements if you think anyone should be able to run 6 miles every single day. The other stuff I can agree on at least.
>>
>>133087752
You should absolutely be able to run 6 miles. That is, again, much easier than you seem to think, and not going to take you very long at all. Almost an hour? What the fuck, are you running or walking fast? This whole thing gets done in an hour at the gym, by plenty of normal people every day. With bathroom breaks and breathers and shooting the shit with the other people working out in between. GO. TO. A. GYM.
>>
>>133077369
I highly doubt you did it everyday and all at once OP.
>>
>>133077534
Thats the joke though. But doing it nonstop 3 years might be impossible.
>>
>>133087914
This all at once thing is dumb though. Everything about the routine is completely fine, but even if you do it for a while, you shouldn't just bust out all your reps (of anything) at once without taking your breathing into account.
>>
>>133087899
>Scoffing at me saying it takes almost an hour to run 10km
Confirmed for complete bullshitter. Literally do not even know what you're talking about.

Do yourself a favor, and Google average time to run a 5k. Those are for people in shape too, and not a BASIC requirement.
>>
>>133077369
High reps build endurance, not strength. I would be honestly surprised if you aren't able to do more pushups in a row now then you were a month ago. So the training did exactly what it was supposed to do
>>
>>133087268
>>133087412

It is meant to be a joke but it could actually benefit people to do these workouts everyday with proper rest and three squared meals a day with a lot of water. Its 100 x 1 push ups in a row then 100 x 1 sit ups in a row then 100 x 1 squats in a row without stopping then running a 10k. There are no real breaks in between and that ups the intensity of the workout by a lot. This does not take 15 minutes. The average 6 mile or 10k run takes about 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes for an untrained person. Sure its a joke but the joke isn't that its easy or ineffective the joke is that he can kill god-like beings after only doing these starting strength workouts for like 3 years. It is an effective workout to help someone get into alright shape.
>>
Push-ups fuck up your muscle balance and posture. Sit-ups fuck up your lower spine. Running ten kilometers every day breaks your legs. Squats is pretty much the only part of the menu that isn't horribly damaging to you in the long run.

Eating right is just as important as working out though. I feel like this the most important part to stress here, because I think it's easier to romanticize working out than it is eating right, and thus harder to motivate yourself to do it. >>
>>133091917

I didn't make up anything, all of that has been researched and proven. Almost all experts agree that ancient army exercises like sit-ups or push-ups are not only completely pointless but even dangerous.

The key to getting in good shape is varied practice that involves many muscle groups at once and a healthy diet, not some one-sided bullshit moves repeated to the extreme. A couple of years back, there were these 100 push-ups challenges and whatnot spreading through social media, which were just incredibly retarded and only helped the dumb, impulsive retards trying them to break themselves.

One hundred a day isn't that much though, but you also have to take into account your form and your sets. Are you doing 100 push-ups in one go?
Are you doing it in sets? How many repetitions per set? How much rest in between? Are you doing them PROPER (slowly and with your elbows inside)?
Are you actually working your chest or are your arms doing all the work?

Do them leaning against a wall. I really hope you're joking though. I went to a military school for fuck ups, and one time some kid came in who couldn't stand up from his seat without sweating profusely. I was put in charge of getting him decently fit and he could actually do a couple of push ups and run reasonably quickly for a little bit. Honestly, you just need to try and do some exercise whenever you've got some spare time; don't worry about everyone talking about workout routines, if you're that unfit anything will help and you'll start seeing results pretty quickly when your muscles start to un-atrophy.

Listen to podcasts while you run and find a long enough route where you either don't have to circle around the same area at all, or just once on the return trip. As long as you're not running along a busy street and need to watch out for traffic, and you you're properly fueled, long runs are fun and addictive as fuck as long as your body can take the extended strain.

Cardio actually makes your body healthier and more longevous. It doesn't make you stronger or more muscular looking, but it makes you healthier, which should be the point of exercize and diet. You /fit/fags forget that everyone on /a/ is a little girl, we don't want to be musclebound freaks, if we want to exercize it is merely to make ourselves feel better and happier as good exercize does, not to make ourselves look less like our ideal feminine form.

Every single thread has this shit, it's unbelievable.

No he doesn't take breaks, he does one hundred full push ups, chest almost hitting the floor and straightening the back. Then he immediately does one hundred full sit-ups, fingers behind head, coming up and fully straightening the back then descending. Then he immediately does one hundred squats, ass nearly hitting the floor and going all the back up. Then he immediately runs six fucking miles. RUNS, not a light jog that you could complete in two hours, not a fucking powerwalk like a faggot that would probably take your unhealthy ass about four or five hours. A full force run for six straight miles, every single fucking day.

What? Almost NO anime does this. 99% of the time, the main character is a prodigy, or
inherited some unique powers from his parents.

Nearly all the time, the hardest working character gets screwed over.

OPM is special, because Saitama was a normal person who worked hard. And he succeeded. No need to be an alien, to be the son of a reaper, to have a demon sealed inside you, to be The Chosen One or WHATEVER. Saitama is strong because he worked hard, that is all. And that should be all you need.

I used to run like five miles per day every day (maybe a couple of longer runs, like 8/9 miles at the start and end of the week). It's not particularly hard to build up to. You can do it in about 9 months easily or so if you're starting from 0 and doing a couch to 10km routine.

Also, run outside if you can. Treadmills aren't bad for building up speed/endurance (I did this a lot at first) but especially once you're doing 5km+, you're better off doing it outside, the variation of terrains, especially hills, are good for endurance, plus it's better for your knees.

You are full of shit op

Before i started seriously with bodybuilding my first real experience with it was doing pushups at home in the morning before going to the school when i was around 15-16

I started by doing 50 push ups pull ups squats and crunches every morning every day.

Ofc at first i couldnt even do 10 pushups, but later i kept adding up to do 100 etc
Over a period of half a year maybe more i build quite the mass and gained a visible frame on which my school friends would comment on
Especially since our physical class consisted of playing football and nothing more, so we sure as fuck didnt get any exercises at school.

Im not sure if doing it for more would do anything but after that i started going to the gym every day and i started cardio.

Still the start i got from doing only basic exercises with no equipment really helped me when i started benching and bought myself some weights.
So unless you are already fit and doing pushups will be to light of workout for you there is no way you wont improve your strength and physical appearance.

What's even the point in getting that strong? I'm a programmer, so I don't need any physical strength to be successful. The same is true of most professions.

Dunno man, i like "feeling" strong.
But mostly i started working out to look good, there was this kid in my class that was popular with the girls and he was cut as hell, so i thought "man i can be ripped too".
And you know, you start bit a bit, and suddenly you have a yearly gym membership and get up at 6am to the pool before going to school.

So i wont feed anybody bullshit about wanting to be healthy, just wanting to look good and kinda work out since what else you gonna do?
Everybody would be better off if they moved their lazy asses outside once in a while if you ask me, even if your job is to sit in front of a desk all day.

It is that fucking simple to get some results. Not the best, but enough to hit the 1000lb club after a few years, which is more than anyone in life needs.

Fuck off. You don't know what you're talking about. You just read bullshit broscience all day and act like it actually matters outside of competition. If you literally don't eat then no shit, but you don't need a specific diet to get anywhere.

>>
Wouldn't you fuck up your legs by running 10k a day?
>>
>>133077369
Maybe you're not stretching enough or something.

At work I decide to do this thing where I would do as many pullups as I could on the fence gate before we locked it and left. I was a string bean in high school and could only do one or two on a good day, kind of cheating too. Three years later I can do at least 12 proper pull-ups a night.

And I know, pull-ups are more a test than an exercise. But you should definitely be getting stronger. Hell, when I switched from the easy way to the proper way to do em, I went from six to twelve in just 2 months. Stretch before and after. Gotta work that lactic acid out.
>>
>>133138490
>doesn't understand irony
I guess I don't. Point it out, please.

>gets angry for nothing
What, you never get upset about something? The reason this subject irritates me is because I get people all the time. If you go to a gym and start benching/squatting 3-5 plates, then you'll know the frustration of it too. People come for advice, which is fine and good, but the worst is when people ask for your routine/diet/supplements. I tell them I don't have any and they get upset at me and my friends thinking we're keeping some secret from them. There are no real gyms around here, so I'm stuck with 24hr fitness crap.

>is stupid enough to tell people who start exercising that diet is not fundamental
It's funny because when you first start, that's the easiest time to get results. Most people worry so much about getting a perfect diet before they even lift the bar that they never start. THAT is stupid and extremely common.

>>
>>133139325

>>
>>133139155
Proper breathing is very important to get good exercise. Passive autonomic response won't keep up, especially if you're starting out. You have to force extra oxygen through your system BEFORE it gets used. That means developing a breathing pattern.
>>
I don't think diet is super important unless you're really trying to sculpt your body. The fucking cavemen lived off of berries and deer meat and they were healthy enough to walk down animals to death. Actually exercising is the most important part.

You can eat the healthiest shit you want but if all you do is sit you won't get stronger, likewise if some poorfag just eats bread and tuna but works out several hours a day he'll be the stronger one.
>>
>>133139521

You got some pointers on this?
>>
>>133092722
>all of that has been researched and proven.

>>
>>133139642
Inhale when you go up during a sit up, exhale when lying back down. Inhale when going down during a push up, exhale when coming back up. Or maybe it was the reverse? I don't remember. Just try them all.
>>
>>133139606
>You can eat the healthiest shit you want but if all you do is sit you won't get stronger, likewise if some poorfag just eats bread and tuna but works out several hours a day he'll be the stronger one
Hahaha, what a load of bullshit.
Ask people who used to eat shit if they have more strength from the new diet alone and see what they will tell you. Of fucking course we're not talking about some random diet.
Also if you don't eat enough you can exercise all you want but you won't get results and if you eat well your results will be not better but infinitly better.
Food is the basic, then comes exercise.
>>
>>133138761
In addition to this, you also want to make sure you have a high enough intake of (healthy) fats. Obviosly not enough to make you some gross fatso, but one of the main ways estrogen and xenoestrogens act to feminize your appearence is by redistributing fat placement to more mimic that of a female. It's largely in the fat distribution on the face that the male and female faces differ in appearence, so having enogh to cover your bare cheekbones will go a long way to making you look more feminine, and I'm sure many /a/nons are skeleton-mode who could really use some extra padding to soften out their appearence.
>>
>>133139462
It's not as important as people say when it comes to getting results, yeah. But if you take it to the extreme (just like anything), then of course there's going to be consequences. Right now, you're just resorting to saying things out of context. For some reason you seem to think that I'm a proponent of dirty bulking, which is not what I said at all. Diet wasn't even the main point of my original post. The point was that people over-complicate working out. Yes this includes dieting, but also things like specific set/rep counts and those sorts of routines.

The tl;dr is: Eat normally and lift hard and you will get results. You don't need a special routine. You don't need to change your lifestyle just to lift. You won't be an olympic athlete, but you can get pretty far. I'm not saying don't bother getting a good diet or routine going, just don't let not having one of those stop you.
>>

>>
>>133139642
Just like take deep breaths and a quick stretch before starting, yo.

For most exercises you breathe out when lifting, and breathe in when relaxing.

For running you pick a foot. Breathe in, out, in, out, every time it hits the ground.
>>
OP you have to add additional resistance to build strength.
>>

I literally did sets of 100+, 5-10 times a day 5 days a week at work when I did overnight security for a couple years.
Also at work 1x100:
>squats
>sit ups
>calf raises (slow, heels hover just above the ground)
>side straddle hops (4count)
>mountain climbers (4count)
>flutter kicks (4count)
>steam engines (4count)
Often 2-4 times a night of each.
And I wouldn't let myself use the bathroom or even walk by it at home without doing a minimum of 5 pullups.
I did this on top of spending 40 minutes a day on cardio and lifting weights 5 days a week between classes.
I would also randomly do 20x pistols and pushups with my feet on the desk.

Still, I appreciate Saitama's commitment.

For the record, I rapidly lost hair during this period of time.

It is. Despite what nonsense /fit/ throws out. They go to a gym, see some guy lifting 3 times their weight, and proceed to think that they are better than him because they "know how to eat and workout." Again, someone is going to take this way out of proportion and think that I mean you should eat like shit or not eat at all. You can eat as healthy as you'd like, but unless you actually put in the effort to consistently go to the gym, a guy living off (enough) PB sandwiches and milk will leave you in the dust.

We make fun of this tanned rawhide and big lenny because they're insane and turned themselves into Jewish Golems of yore.

There is no VS. It is just Tatsu's character development. If anything, in the future she is going to be valuable as a team-up partner, as her levitation ability would be very handy to complement Saitama's inability to fly. When they eventually face God level threats, she is going to at least be able to assist.

And then what? Tie her up? Beating her up isn't going to stop her being angry. She needs to sort out her issues.

She's leveling an entire city, Saitama should just end it right now

There is no ending it. He is not going to kill her, so the only thing to do is to wait for her to calm down. No one has died yet and Saitama would make sure to keep it that way. However knocking her out just delays the issue and not solve it.

Now we all know Sonic is going to survive getting hit by the exploding shurikens, because it is all a gag. But I do find the idea that he is going to survive his own ultimate weapon, the weapon meant to kill Saitama, to be impressive.

But of course, the comic chapter hasn't finished, so we don't actually know how badly hurt Sonic would be. I just wonder why he was brought in and if he will have any relevance here, or would he disappear for the rest of the panels for a while.

That's not the problem. Knocking Tatsu out just makes her even more mad when she wakes up. It solves nothing. She needs to calm down.
