I actually rewatched Madoka few days ago for the first time since it aired, I always thought it was 6/10 above average and everyone loved it because "dark twist on well known formula with girls suffering" gimmick

I was blown away, it's everything I wanted from a dark twist on a well known formula with girls suffering.
Plot points like collective suicide, lack of people giving a fuck about collective suicide and everything else that happens, and Madoka's mom are as retarded as I remember, but the artstyle, atmosphere, and OST are 10/10 perfection
Solid 8/10, definitely in my top 5 from this decade.


Also I appreciate Shaft visuals and atmosphere a lot more now than I did 3 years ago, they should stop adapting garbage so often
