so we are at late 2015
madoka is still the best anime of the 2010s?
I watch stuff so back and forth on a chronological scale it gets hard to remember the year they came out but one name comes to mind when I think post 2010.
I think it's Penguindrum, with Madoka as a close second.
However, if Urobuchi never actually finishes the story after making Rebellion an Empire Strikes Back story, the overall series will go down in my estimation.
2011 was a year with so many great anime that it will probably never be topped.
Rebellion puts it over the top I'd say.
Strange way of spelling One Punch Man.
Real enjoyed this steins gate and fate stay night ubw.
>Fate/Zero better than Sakamichi no Apollon, Hyouka, Tsuritama, Kyoukaisen, Chihayafuru, HxH, Space Bros
Usually you have to at least be better than other shows airing at the same time to be anime of the decade, senpai
K-On! if second seasons count, otherwise Tatami Galaxy. I don't really get why Madoka gets all the praise it does. I mean, it was cool and I did enjoy it, but at the same time it was pretty retarded.
Madoka has Kyoko so it's the best anime of all time
Sora no Woto
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita
Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyobi
Houkago no Pleiades
There, 2 from each year not even mentioned in this thread. Get spoonfed senpai
When did sempai become a thing? I saw it show up a lot a few days ago
Are we now putting desu and sempai on things for a reason? Or is it like desu and senpai?
Thank for the updates anons
Still need a sequel to determine my final feelings on Rebellion.
Had a lot going for it, but ending on sequel bait when there's no word of a sequel hurts me.
>no word of a sequel hurts me.
They already reported that there will be a sequel before the film even came out. The most recent thing reported stated that they do want to make more, they're just unsure of how to make it.
I can take or leave the rest of the Meduka manga, but I'd be all over a Different Story OVA.
>they do want to make more, they're just unsure of how to make it.
I know it's successful enough to warrant another sequel, but I'm wary of them admitting that they don't actually have the idea for continuation planned out beforehand.
Then again, I guess that's exactly what Rebellion did, and I thought that was alright, so whatever...
I guess it was the blatant foreshadowing of further conflict happening between the girls.
The original's ending had a bit more closure, even if it was bittersweet.
I think Rebellion ended on a stronger, self contained note.
They have to do something with Sayaka and Homura's rivalry after all the buildup.
Even if poor Sayaka would get wrecked trying to fight a reality shifting entity.
>Homura is in total control.
Not according to the last 10 minutes of the film. Madoka can and will break free. Homura even admits that they will more become enemies when it happens.
Even if she does have great control over her new barrier, it won't last for very long.
Except the fact that, y'know, Homura's control is not absolute, and by her own admission will not last forever. Madoka WILL remember that she's a goddess at some point, and then everything falls apart for the wannabe demon.
>LOCAL RETARD FIGHTS GUNS WITH SWORDS
>DIES FIVE SECONDS INTO THE FIGHT
Anime/Fantasy tropes dictate that she has a chance.
One theory going (or used to) around is that Nagisa is simply playing stupid in the new world and still has her original memories and powers since it was never seen that she did anything to her and was surprised even that Sayaka was even in her new world.
That's one idea that could try to capitalize off.
There is no word for the sequel because Homura's VA was pregnant and gave birth few months ago. She was too busy and just announced returning to work.
And Shaft is rushing through Monogatari.
Sayaka and Nagisa would be expected to try to restore the Law of Cycles, but Mami and Kyoko could end up trying to stop them from leaving them again.
Not hard to play up the idea that fighting for Madoka would mean fighting for a world where the people closest to them are either suffering or dead.
I hope they don't continue Madoka. It's perfect as it is.
While I generally buy into the idea that Sayaka was the only one who noticed that something was off while Bebe was off having fun, I could see both of them trying to remember things about Madoka down the line.
That'd be pretty twisted... Would be nice if the two of them could turn it around as a means to find closure before moving on in the end, but I don't see it going that smoothly.
>In which Mami is finally able to apologize to the parents she couldn't save before being forced to Tiro Finale them as the illusion that they are.
Penguindrum surpassed Utena. It also doesn't have a filler like the Black Rose arc. Utena is great by any stretch of the imagination, probably in the top 20 anime of all time, but Penguindrum should be remember as his Magnum Opus.
>Illusion Kyouko's Dad telling Kyouko that Real Kyouko's Dad was right to call her a witch while Kyouko kills him
This is getting depressing. Let's keep going.
>After realizing everything's fake, her little sister asks her what's wrong
>Kyoko reacts violently, attacking the child whose death she already blames herself for
>Mami enters as Kyoko falls to her knees next to her dead family
>"I guess I really am just the monster Father took me for..."
It's SYMBOLIC, dontcha know
there is no story left to tell.
what unresolved plot points are left?
dont say Homura needs to be stopped because she doesnt. the whole thing about destroying the world after the wraiths are gone is untrue because there arent even any wraiths in that world, Sayaka was wrong.
we got a happy ending
well, people will live happy anyway, they aren't aware of the fact that exist witches and mahou shoujos
and that's the irony in it, because every mahou shoujo will not be recognized by their actions and just die alone and become energy.
I love the series and Mami is best girl but I can't stand the people I find in the Madoka threads. It's just two or three faggot trips and anons circlejerking around them. Madoka gets a huge minus for giving birth to one of the most cancerous fanbases of all time. The only one worse could be Berserk's with Hawk singlehandedly shitting up threads more than Kevin and Apple combined.
so youve watched 15 episodes worth and cant bring yourself to see the 8 you have yet to see?
Well I only got to episode 3 the first time, the second time started from there and got to episode 5, the third time was a few years later so I decided to rewatch it from the start and dropped it at the same spot.
Monogatari Series: Second Season
Sora no Woto
Girls und Panzer
Non Non Biyori
all of these are better than madoka desu senpai
>madoka is still the best anime of the 2010s?
I actually rewatched Madoka few days ago for the first time since it aired, I always thought it was 6/10 above average and everyone loved it because "dark twist on well known formula with girls suffering" gimmick
I was blown away, it's everything I wanted from a dark twist on a well known formula with girls suffering.
Plot points like collective suicide, lack of people giving a fuck about collective suicide and everything else that happens, and Madoka's mom are as retarded as I remember, but the artstyle, atmosphere, and OST are 10/10 perfection
Solid 8/10, definitely in my top 5 from this decade.
Also I appreciate Shaft visuals and atmosphere a lot more now than I did 3 years ago, they should stop adapting garbage so often
