They put zero effort into the stories (and it's not like we were asking for much to begin with) and have absolutely nothing to do with the main plot (keep in mind I'm talking about the oldschool movies here) they're literally nothing more than mass-produced soulless cash-grabs. The series itself wasn't exactly very good but the movies somehow miss out on the very few strengths the series had.
