Yeah this has always bothered me. What was the point of the Crimson Dragon swooping in and taking the marks back? Was it to symbolize that they don't need any special marks as a symbol for their bond? If so, that's stupid. Jesus Fudo and friends are Signers until the day they day. There was no need for this plot device.

Then there is them literally going down diffrent roads as if to symbolize their different paths in life but arn't they all leaving the country? Another thing, how much time passed between Yusei and Jack's final duel? Why all leave on the same day? Wouldn't it be more emotional and leave more of an impact if they all left one by one on different days with Jack being the last to leave?

Though it has been almost 5 years since 5D's ended, I still lose it everytime I watch it. It's always a mixture of sadness and rage and a bitter taste I can never get rid of. And 5D's is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh,

The web of relationships between them certainly was better developed in show. We know that Yuzu, Gon, & Yuya grew up together but it mostly Yuya acting a bridge for them being supported by Yuzu and being protected from bullies by Gon. Yuzu & Gon together didn't have much chemistry.

It's different with Sora instead. He started with Yuya as his Shisho, and developed into a friend and later rival once his identity was revealed but never had any mutual malice even then.

At the same time, he was Yuzu's teacher in Fusion, giving her advice he probably learned in Academia concerning dueling that wouldn't be handed out to any other Standard native. That fact along with their interactions in the qualifying matches for the MCS really establishes their connection which was capped off by this past episode.

Of course Yuzu & Yuya's relationship needs no explanation. It really is a very solid trio.
