Who's ready for more yuri bait?
>Reina has a dirty dream about being the meat in the middle of a KumiTaki sandwich
Judging by what the novelanons have said, the number of yuribait relationships is going to increase too. What an exciting time to be alive.
What is Kumiko made of?
If they will add more yuribait I hope that, at least, the tone down the hetshit or maybe, even better, they omit it.
According to some novel anons, pic related will be pretty much the new main character.
>If they will add more yuribait I hope that, at least, the tone down the hetshit or maybe, even better, they omit it.
Occasional reminder that brat did nothing wrong.
I'm okay with this.
This was pretty boring, at least the visuals were pretty.
S2 will have more yuribait, right?
We agreed that we'd consider not sexualizing the euphos, if possible.
Yeah It's problems between her and the father.
It seems pretty sad to be honest from what I remember novelfag saying.
I can't wait, Asuka is fucking perfect.
Pretty sure that was vol3, so unless S2 ends up being two cours the focus is gonna be on Oboe-chan and the second-years.
Will she actually stay completely awake for a whole scene, for once?
I just want little scenes of her teasing band members.
That's enough to make me happy.
Does she ever tease anyone other than Ribbons, though?
More of this? Yes please.
Ribbons is fine too.
It always gets posted, so here you go.
It's her mom who wants her to stop playing music. She lives with her mom, her parents are divorced and her dad is a bigshot musician (and a judge at the nationals), so got into music because of him and her mom hates it and wants her to quit.
I want her to bully my dick
Are they related?
>New Years festival
>Kumiko has too much amazake
>grabs her hair and yells HERIKOPUTAA while wiggling it
Natsuki was fangirling over
either Oboe-chan or that other girl, wasn't she? Where does Ribbons fit into all of this?
I don't remember natsuki doing that. only the Ribbons bullying
Why is Kumiko the best kyoani mc? How is she so cute while being such a bitch?
It's too pure for this world.
>more ribbons bullying
Calling it now, Hibike!! Euphonium AOTY 2017.
>implying KyoAni is not aware of how the majority of the sales were driven by yurifags both in the west and nipland
>implying the red string can ever be broken
Flute. She admires her greatly, she's one of her biggest supporters and is trying desperately to get Asuka to allow her back into the band. She even admits to Kumiko while blushing that she admires Flute.
Ribbon is the one that knocks some sense into Oboe chan. She's been protecting her and being her friend since Flute rebelled and quit the band.
When did this one scene (obviously KyoAni's intended money-shot) air?
I want to bury my face in sweaty Hibike armpits
That's morally wrong and you know it.
>massive yurifag presence both in the real and in the cyber world demanding the ReinaxKumiko
>author confirmed that the anime is better and ships Reina and Kumiko now
>Kyoani witnessed firsthand how the yuri skyrocketed the sales
Are hetfags really this desperate that they will even deny the meaning of the red string?
The threads will be glorious. I can't wait to feast on the hetfag tears once we get the OVA featuring Kumiko and Reina entangled by the red string
Reina is quite possibly bi. Why can't she have the hots for both sensei and Kumiko?
Hoping for more OTP.
>One of the most well ended KyoAni anime, if not the best
>Gets a new season
Why ruin good things like this. I would have reather an Amaburi second season. National arcs are always fucking shit.
>people actually think KyoAni is going to pander to yurifags
>people actually think Japan likes yuri (or homosexuals in general) in anime
>approval rating of gay marriage in japan is below 10%
You guys are delusional.
I would rather see another season of Hyouka than even FMP at this point.
>>massive yurifag presence both in the real and in the cyber world demanding the ReinaxKumiko
>>author confirmed that the anime is better and ships Reina and Kumiko now
>>Kyoani witnessed firsthand how the yuri skyrocketed the sales
>you will never watch them remove their spit valves and pour the accumulated shimmering saliva out onto the band room floor
>hottest character isn't the MC
It keeps happening.
>sets aside fun time to be used on doing fun things
>BUT PRACTICE TIME IS WHEN THE BAND FUCKING PRACTICES.
>disregard drama around her
alpha as fuck
No, there's always more than one of you people out there.
So shes a sociopath with daddy issues. It all comes together
I dropped this shit so hard and nothing will make me pick it up again. I predict the threads for the new season will be relatively peaceful since I don't believe and yurifriends will be fooled again.
Why do those sick fucks do this to us
>massive yurifag presence both in the real and in the cyber world demanding the ReinaxKumiko
This argument baffles me. Since when has a majority of like minded fans ever been a good claim for when something is good or not? It's very often just a conglomeration of people with the shittiest taste and poorest judgement ever.
Fucking hell, if something has a fanbase that consists of massive" anything" it's the greatest warning sign that something is wrong with the work.
>Yurifags are just a vocal minority.
Keep telling yourself that. Step out of /a/ and you'll see how popular KumiRei is even the nips love it. Let's see who's the delusional one here.
I don't mind the hetshit, but I really hope they at least do something to acknowledge the yuri bait. Give it some story relevance plz
Foreshadowing what's to come. There is one thing sure about the second season and that's more yuri fanservice.
At this point they should have already written-off Shuichi as his character does nothing to the story but become a nuisance and waste of precious time taken away from more superior and relevant characters.
>reed in mouth
I love how accurate all the instrument details are in this, really blew away my expectations. I figured the instruments themselves wouldn't even be accurate
Yeah yeah sempai.
Even in the promo art you know who's ruining everything.
But you already play with yourself everyday
I liked this show a lot and wish it could be remembered and enjoyed for anything other than yuribait and completely irrelevant shipping wars.
Did Shu's role really irrelevant to the story in the novel too? This kind of show that don't need male characters, they really didn't do anything to the story and their personality aren't anywhere as shinny as female characters
I just like it because its a good show, anon.
I am confused by this statement. If you're just saying that the male characters are boring, that has nothing to do with them being male and everything to do with them being underdeveloped or poorly written.
>voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro
Is there anything Kurumi can't do?
>completely irrelevant shipping wars
I still don't understand how people could get so worked up about a pairing that was never going to happen and a pairing that had no romantic chemistry. It becomes even more absurd when you think about how small a portion of S1 was actually about romance.
I know for a lot of the western fan base it was because they saw it as progressive, but I have no idea why it was equally as bad on /a/ aside from to confirm just how cancerous shippers can be.
Kumiko is supposed to have a crush on Shuichi, isn't she? If that's still supposed to be the case in the anime adaptation, they did a pretty poor job of conveying that. From what the novelfags have been saying it sounds like Kumiko was pretty obvious about it in the novels, and while I could understand Kyoani wanting to be more low-key about it, it felt more like it just wasn't there. If it hadn't been for the novelfags, I would never have gotten the impression that Kumiko might actually like the guy back.
she gets reverse teased by Nozomi, it's actually pretty hilarious. And this is how the second season is going to be paired off. The ReinaxTaki scenes are going to start flooding in while the new girls will form a proper quartet with the other second years.
Yuri pandering is popular.
Name a real Yuri anime that actually sells.
Aoi Hana, Sakura Trick, etc were never popular enough to have decent sales.
Just be happy at least Kyoani is baiting you the way you like it.
>approval rating of gay marriage in japan is below 10%
I know that this is bait but...
"Japanese culture and major religions originated in and imported to Japan do not have a history of hostility towards homosexuality, and a majority of Japanese citizens are reportedly in favor of accepting homosexuality, with a recent poll indicating that 54 percent agreed that homosexuality should be accepted by society whilst 36 percent disagreed, with a large age gap."
>Name a real Yuri anime that actually sells.
Pick your poison
Google seems to say otherwise
Aoi is actually close friends with Asuka, it'll be something you'll see in the next season when Asuka's drama starts. She also shows up at Nationals to cheer on Kumiko.
>tfw there literally won't be any Aoi
Never forget 19/05
I like yuri, but in this show I figure the less romance the better, at least involving Kumiko. Whatever it takes to keep the shippingfags away.
That said, I am looking forward to pic related inevitably getting the Dekomori/Shinka treatment.
>Best girl is out of the show halfway into first season
Why does it keep happening
Are we going to see more of the fagotts ? I certainly hope so.
>Wanting pure friendship to turn into lesbian love
It makes me anxious and stuff ;_;
What do you mean?
Maybe the first two but I don't know if I would like last one.
It makes me feel so bad but I keep watching it.
Would've loved this show many times more without the incredibly awkward and strangely written yuri bait scenes between Reina and Kumiko. That's not how you write a strong friendship, and the constant face fondling was hilariously awful.
Also either remove Shuichi or make him have an actual character. He could be a nice viewpoint for the boy's side of the band, with the problems he was obviously having. Either that or just make him another background character.
Other than those two major complaints, I enjoyed watching it as a former high school band member. Brought back some fond memories.
Just remove the romance and the 'romance' and it'd be the perfect band show.
All that said, the fallout over who Kumiko and Reina hook up with, whether it be het or yuri, will be fucking hilarious to watch.
Yes, i've cried many times because of how bad it makes me feel.
>aoi still on the show
Fuck, I'll watch it then.
I thought that was the point. Maybe not serious mental problems, but she's just really socially awkward and weird. Yet it comes across as sensual and beautiful to Kumiko, which is why their relationship is so cute and perfect.
Today is Sapphire-chan's birth day.
Wish her a happy birthday!
>OVA OP will feature Kumiko and Renia. Thier naked bodies pressed against each other with their eyes locked into the gaze of the other. Their hands locked in a tight grip with a bundle of red string securing them in place.
>S2 features Kumiko and Reina again, their hands holding each other as they walk through the street paved with the gentle shower of the blossoming cherry blossoms. The supporting girls behind their backs, a soft smile on their lips as they share the joy that the couple enjoys
>Movie will feature Kumiko and Reina again. On the bed they will lay, staring at each other with a strange but soothing smile as if exchanging voiceless words. Then Reina will lean over and kiss Kumiko on the lips before snugling unto Kumiko's neck. A soft moan shall be sounded before the carpet finally falls and the melody of a good end fills the hearts of the ones who thought that Kyoani will not deliver
I am hyped
So, does this mean that you hate Nanoha, K-on, Chrono Crusade, Lord of the Rings, and Full Metal Alchemist?
It matters not how much they change so long as it becomes better. And better Kyoani did
I can at least be an assistant faggot
Forgot to add Utena. It was het in the original source but after Ikuhara turned it into a yuri, it became an instant classic
Are you going to rage about it too?
So the movie is basically a season one recap with possible new elements and a season two afterwards covering novel two?
It'll probably be 90 minutes long like the Chuuni and KnK S1 movies. I doubt there will be much in terms of new content. I'm betting S2 will cover books 2-3 and maybe some of the book 4 side stories. I expect at least 22 episodes.
Reina is a gay autistic nerd.
I realized after I posted but it was already too late.
I know this will sound like bait, but I'm deadly serious when I say there isn't a het pairing deeper than Kumiko x Reina. The bond they share goes beyond any het material I have ever watched or read. I'm actually curious if hetfags in this thread can post even one het pairing that has anywhere near the chemistry that Reina and Kumiko have.
It's like this >>133075134. Love between girls is just deeper, always.
I'm sorry if this sounds like bait but I'm just dead tired of these stupid ass shipping wars when hetfags are pushing bland and boring Shuichi and sensei. The story would suffer by not having a yuri climax, that's the bottomline truth.
For someone who was quite a socially awkward person trying to befriend Kumiko, Reina's pretty fucking smooth here.
Which characters are going to have the worst of it in terms of lost screen time in season two?
I'm so glad I avoided all the spoilers that were posted over the summer.
Time to leave these threads forever.
They'll have Shu and Ree switch roles or they won't do it at all. Then again, if the other person doesn't come back for season 2 and leaves mister "I don't get girl friendships" as the sole director we may get it in full and they may even tone down the gay
Any hard details on what season two is actually covering?
Cour? Just novel two?
I didn't really see that all during the first season. Lot's of people are just misinterpreting the relationship between Kumiko and Reina.
Did they steal your hearts?
They're pretty neat.
Now here come hopes and dreams.
Someone still has the .gif of the drummer girl beating on a piece of rubber looking overjoyed?
Crescent Moon Dance, clarinet cover.
Cresent Moon Dance brass band cover, recorded on potato
Kumiko's friendship with Hazuki and Sapphire was made into much more of an important part of the show than it was originally. I don't really think they'll drop it, nor do I think they'll pass up any chances of finding a way of inviting of Reina into the circle.
>Kumiko's friendship with Hazuki and Sapphire was made into much more of an important part of the show than it was originally
Again that's mostly just because of the OP and ED. From the start Kumiko was always kind of reluctant to be with them, and as it went on they became less and less relevant. There's no reason to believe they will drastically change the story when for the most part they haven't been so far. From what I understand the most they have been changing is just removing some Shuuichi scenes.
>Again that's mostly just because of the OP and ED.
You're implying the OP and ED dictated the direction of the show, and not the other way around.
I'm not sure why you would imply that.
>From what I understand
You should just read the novel, if you can.
I'm not implying that the OP and ED dictated the direction of the show at all, I'm saying that they ended up being entirely unrelated to what actually happened within it. Hazuki and Sapphire ended up being much more irrelevant than anyone would expect from them.
And I'm saying that because the director of most KyoAni OPs and EDs these days is someone who is used to working on shows which do have those 4-5 main character group and just injected her style into these parts of the show without consideration of the actual narrative.
Of course, it'll probably be DVD/BD special. It's a volume 4 segment.
Shuu still had quite the show with Kumiko. Enough for a burgeoning development in later seasons, it's a lot more apparent in the .webm combining their moments together.
Kumiko and Shuuichi's romance was never the spotlight in the novels, Kumiko and Reina's friendship was.
>I'm not implying that the OP and ED dictated the direction of the show at all
>Hazuki and Sapphire ended up being much more irrelevant than anyone would expect from them.
They were pretty relevant in the first half of the show.
Not to mention, as I mentioned before, much more relevant than they were in the novel.
I'll admit, it is possible that it's just cute to see them together, but I doubt they'll drop the increased importance they've given Hazuki and Sapphire in the second season, and just go back to how things are in the second novel. They would have just done that for the first one. Remember that while Yamada did the ED, she's also kind of doing the show as well.
I guess I really can't speak any more to this since I haven't (and can't) read the novels but I will say at least this much.
I expected Hazuki and Sapphire to be annoying main characters from what the first episode showed of them, and I can definitely understand them being overplayed in that one. But ultimately I ended up liking them a lot more by the end because I felt like they never overstayed their welcome and both of them ended up having more interesting traits than I would have expected from their archetypes.
It's actually kind of weird for me to see someone saying that they were more relevant than they should have been since most people complain about the misconception the OP and ED construed.
She's described the position as "Ishihara's assistant".
It's been pointed out in interviews and the like that she was there during a good amount of the planning for the series.
They went into a little more about it in one of the BD's audio commentary. I don't remember much else though. I imagine her job's probably been described other places as well, since it seems to be kind of made up.
Hazuki and Midori became background characters by the end, even Yuuko and Natsuki are more important than them. I'm sure KyoAni will try to involve them a little in the second season but Kumiko will mostly be around Reina, Asuka and the second years.
Frankly all I remember Hazuki doing in the second novel is showing her rip abs during band camp, making Kumiko's jaw drop.
because they aren't much more relevant than they are in the novel. They're still great girls in the novel, the only difference in the anime is that they got a few more SOL scenes at the start of the show. Infact the scenes you probably find annoying were the ones that werent even in the novel.
What musical pieces should they play in season two?
Why did nobody listen?
End of S1 hinted potential plot hooks for Oboe-chan, Asuka, and Taki-sensei so I'd imagine those will be covered in S2
You have to be damned to cover all those smoothly while not losing Kumiko's and other's presence
