Well these superhuman speed opponents aren't really a problem as demon weapon issued soldiers can keep up with them in combat, normal soldiers of the IDA would be fucked.

The real problem is using it against the Vampire Nobles and Skilled Vampires (Like Mika and his buddies) who can destroy Yuu and team with relative ease.

Well I was never talking about mook vampires, anyone with a demon weapon can kill those without using fancy abilities like the coffin.

Also demon weapons don't put you on the same level as vampires in terms of physical capability, or else Guren (who is using a top-tier demon weapon and had also taken two pills) wouldn't have needed to gang up on Mika and he wouldn't have gotten fucked in one hit by Ferid.

Remember, animes have a shitty turn around and every anime is a huge gamble with most being losses. It's clear with the new OP that the show barely got the greenlight for the second season.

Not trying to stir shit or anything since obviously I'm still watching it, but does anyone else feel like this show reuses shounen tropes that are kind of stale by now and yet it uses them pretty poorly compared to other series that came before it? Like the "Hero has an out of control overpowered evil transformation" was done better by Bleach; SeraphYuu being repressed by the power of hugs is just too cheesy. Two friends end up on opposite sides was done better by Naruto since their relationship actually changes. Asshole commanding officer was done better by FMA with Mustang; Guren seems imposing at first but gets his shit wrecked early and easily. Have to go through some ordeal to fully harness their magic weapon was done better by Bleach.

On the other hand it has a better ep1 than many shounen which draws people in, and it might be the best post apocalypse shounen setting as far as I've seen

Anime is designed far more for quick pay offs now due to so many 1 cour seasons without any guarantee of a S2 and mangas have similar pressures on them now due to a more cut throat market and LNs stealing away readers. Shounen has huge appeal to all sorts of people. IIRC the most popular ones are an even split in demographics, or 40% female fans in general. Assclass's popularity polls were very much dominated by the female fans.

Every shounen that has a nice art style and more than one cute guy will find itself with female fans. It's called Ikemen, and is only related to fujoshit via 'hot guys'. These girls generally have no inborn reason to hate female characters just for being female, like some immature fujos do since it gets in the way of the gay.

However the editors/mangaka will still end up putting in close friendships or rivalries because it's tradition for a shounen hero to have a rival. They're usually the exact opposite of the MC too, like Ishida and Sasuke. This is the main thing that attracts the fujoshi and their dollars, while the girls that simply like guys just shrug and accept the pandering because they still get hot guys.

All fans in general will hopefully be reading the series for something other than how the characters look/porn.
