How many Koreans did they sacrifice in the rituals for the amazing backgrounds in this episode?
The backgrounds were so good they made the actual animation look bad in contrast.
So I started this anime and it's painfully clear she's going to end up with this faggot.
Why is having males in a Kyo ani anime suddenly okay? Anime died with K-on I guess.

Literally everything except Lucky Star had men in main roles before K-On
Literally everything except Lucky Star, K-On!, and Nichijou had male main roles.
Chunibyo? Dark Flame Master.
Tamako Market? Mochizou (he counts, right?)
Kara no Kyoukai? Akihito.
Amaburi? Kanye West.
I guess you can say that KyoAni
Marches to the beat of the different drummerwhen they do Sound! Euphonium.
>drew that whole scene by hand
It really depends on how you want to define "drawing a whole scene by hand" it is clear that what ever background art is being used there that the composting has a big role in achieving the look. That background could look really basic sans processing and nobody could tell with the way it has been focused. Not to mention the show gives credit for 3D art and the fact that the car to left in OP is 3DCG at the very least. The whole scene really isn't drawn by hand. Not that it doesn't look great and much above the standard of most anime.
I don't think anyone believes this. At the very least it will likely use a photographic reference of real locations to draw from to begin with like the a lot of locations in KyoAni shows.
Yeah they always do location scouting then draw the backgrounds using photographs as reference. That's why they like to do stories set near Kyoto so they can show off their home town. But if they need to go overseas they will, like they went to Hong Kong for TSR and London for Keion movie.
The real reason that scene in the OP looks good though is because of the lighting and shadows, and the way they blur the background so that only Kumiko and Kousaka are in focus. Despite all the cars going by in the back, it makes it look like they are alone together.
I never said the backgrounds were traced. Just that there is a whole lot going into that scene to make it the way it looks that has absolutely nothing to do with hand drawing backgrounds.
Indeed the real reason it looks good has little to do with skill in hand drawn backgrounds and more to do with digital effects.
Yeah I don't know if I like the photograph backgrounds.
I watched the DoSH a few days ago and I felt like there were scenes where it just didn't work.
Otherwise that was a great movie. Some spectacular animation.
The faggot is going to end up with this girl, it was foreshadowed in the last episode. The MC is tied by the homosexual red string of fate with the black haired girl, yuri end is more than confirmed.
The hell happened, Kyoani? This looks like a bad copy-paste job. It reminds me of those old Fleischer cartoons where they used 3D models for the backgrounds. Is this some artistic thing?
I have never known such moe
Why is nobody talking about the fact that they just ended the episode with Rydeen? Holy shit.
Can someone make a 60fps webm of this?
That's just how its done now kind of. Personally I prefer the old school hand drawn style. Has anyone ever seen the backgrounds in stuff like Patlabor 2 for example. They look just as good if not better than anything you see in modern hit shows like Fate Love Live Euphemism etc and this was before live filming and post processing existed
