MARCH MARCH MARCH
Nah, the episode looked good. I think they just had to rush through the festival to get to other events.
Maybe they could have cut some of the practice scenes a little so there was more time for the performance
do you think she will still be overweight if she practices marching with a tuba everyday?
Kumiko channeling Yukko so hard
Thank you based KyoAni for all these nice shots.
Nakagawa-senpai seems really wise.
God, Kumiko is so fucking gay for Kousaka and what was she talking about on having a new start? She's doing the exact same shit and playing the exact same instrument that she didn't want to play and still isn't talking to her sister. What a fresh start indeed.
Yurifag here, I have no expectations that there will actually be a real yuri end, and about evens that it'll still be Shuuichi end despite the lack of any kind of tension between them in the anime. I'm just here to enjoy the cute moments with Reina, which there have definitely been plenty of so far. It'll be a little annoying when it happens, but when isn't it?
On the other hand, when one of these shows does have an unexpected yuri end one of these days, I'll be laughing for days.
Huh, they actually got through the festival without failing in embarrassing fashion at some point. I'm surprised.
The support characters seem to play significant roles.
School before Rikka
The Fairest of the Fair March
Rydeen - YMO
I remember it being pretty fun. Badass drum cadences help, and it's fun to all play together. Of course, it depended on the weather, too...I remember being bitterly cold during some parades...
>Band teacher made us do high step marching
No greater hell.
It definitely seems that seeing things not going like last year did has perked her up a bit. And Kumiko being the one who reached out to her has gotten her a cool senpai as her new friend, which is nice.
Then have her in her marching outfit too.
>Kumiko loses her ponytail
>her friends wears a ponytail
It's like poetry
Kumiko spilling spaghetti was great.
>play the same song again and again over and over
>KEEP YOUR INSTRUMENT LIFTED, DAMN IT
>march, march march
>oh boy, time to drain the spit valve, don't hit anyone or yourself
>oh god it's so loud
>my legs are killing me
>great god it's hit / oh great, it's raining
if you're not retarded you'd realize they'e been practicing afterschool everyday for months, and the very new/beginner band members stayed off of the instruments and were given pom-poms instead
Aoi-chan has just changed her priorities. Kumiko may have found her new start, but Aoi-chan is looking forward to hers in collage.
>she's falling asleep
>train is empty
>it's at night
That's like some chikan hentai scenario
I'm surprised no-one cares. The original in the book/manga was a Beatles cover. This is super classic in a very similar way, and I'm sure the rights were way easier to pick up.
More a matter of mindset. They went from knowing how to play okay but not really giving a shit whether they did or not, to giving a shit. The actual newbies didn't even play.
Also technically, it was 2-3 weeks, not counting the week between their first and second performances.
I'm going to marry Kaori.
Midori best girl confirmed
KUMIKO GOTTA GO FAST
Yea, I came to hate marching band. But nostalgia tends to forget the bad parts of it.
Sensei is smooth as fuck, left it right to the last moment.
Perhaps. I was marching in highschool with flags and shit in stadiums every national holiday which we have a lot.
Always wanted to play it but I'm fine with my violin.
Instead of being crappily executed exposition like it usually is in most anime, this time it felt like the way it should be used, and in a situation where it would actually make sense for the audience to give a shit.
So fucking cute, I feel the same way when I see the girl I like is looking at me.
What's with the music in this scene? This is some heartbreaking shit.
I like the themes of Regret and Satisfaction. I like it a lot.
You knew the moment it started cutting between various aspects of her sloppiness that someone was about to walk in or otherwise interrupt. It was just a question of whether it'd be Reina and spaghetti or Shuuichi and geh.
It's all the good moments the band members of yesteryear didn't get to experience.
None of them, just this one.
I enjoy yuri and like yuri pairings in my shows, but hardcore yurifags who think het=bad and see yuri where it clearly isn't there are just obnoxious shitposters. I like it when they're proven wrong because, after a brief stint of being butthurt, they all drop the show and let the rest of us discuss the show in peace.
It would probably sound like shit because the VAs can't actually play
Maybe if they used the actual band they recorded all the music with
I know. This is one of the big things that's making this anime stand out from comparable sports anime or competition anime. It's pushing and focusing on these themes way harder than the norm. It's going very well.
i love big titty girls who are smug
I don't know any seiyuu who plays instruments other than Gitaah. And out of these newbie cast, the closest thing they've done to something musical is one being a member of Stylips.
Fatty doesn't seem so fat anymore.
BasedAni and their marching band uniforms
>that cute yawn
>those soft feet
>that I SEE YOU
So good I even tried making a webum for the first time in my life. Please forgive me.
>you were always on loading detail
Or at least I remember doing it a fuck lot.
Is this the first genuine smile Reina made?
This scene made me hate her. Their entire band should have been disqualified right there. I get that she's an autist who can only communicate via trumpet solos, but show a little courtesy.
>carrying it all by herself
Legit impressed with Hazuki.
Because of all the idiots posting dumb, hostile shit the moment there's the slightest whiff of yuri. Jokes are fine, reasonable disagreements about which pairings are best or most likely are fine, but this dumbass SHITICHI NTR TIME STRAIGHTFAGS BTFO shit is obviously going to get people actively looking forward to yuri endings being stymied, especially when the explicit evidence - no, awkward glances across rooms are not explicit evidence, no matter how blatantly they're put in - to justify that kind of confidence.
Cute girls playing string quartet next.
>showing off their manliness for the girls
Let the macking begin!
You mean trying to stand out like that? Of course not, Reina is obviously a bit of an unsociable princess type character after all, it's not the first time we've seen her break out a mad trumpet piece when she wants to talk. Remember what she did a few episodes ago ?
I'm surprised these guys don't bake themselves whenever they go marching.
I want Reina to just lay there and stare at me with a completely blank look on her face while I fuck her. Then she'll go to the balcony and play a really loud trumpet solo in an upbeat tempo while I'm trying to sleep.
for all the fucking homophobes
the name has /u/ in it, how can it not be yuri?
>but adding the military aspect to the equation removes the fun.
Over here It had a military aspect already
>Government and military officals watching you from the tribunes
>Having to salute
>Mandatory marching trainings in PE class
We were like a militia already.
Kyoani makes top tier background husbandos.
We got nice buses for some competitions...I think maybe just the long trip ones. Otherwise, it was just regular school buses.
The state of this episode, we had a lot of stuff.
We went from breast sizes (sasuga KyoAni) to Reina not being a bitch, to more cute girls, to slackers not being slacking anymore to my underdog story.
Also, it's actually happening.
>the only seat left open is with that fag you hate
When the blue demons band showed up, I thought of these guys. I remember them being one of the top marching bands in the USA around the time I was in HS.
Average trumpet player
>picked it because they're unimaginative, boring faggots
>since they get the most noticeable parts, are full of themselves
>instrument is painful to listen to in most hands
>prides on high notes, the worst notes in almost any song
Above average trumpet player
>the same fucking shit, except is more of an asshole
This woman makes me feel like less of a man.
No fuck YOU for supporting a cacophonous, painful tradition in the absolute worst environment instruments can be in (complete open air is fucking lousy for acoustics, enjoy blaring at FF so anyone can hear you) that actually actively makes life more difficult by closing down roads.
If they ever actually do it, it won't be an adaptation of a non-yuri work, which the novels clearly are not. It'll either be an adaptation of a known yuri title, or an original series where the promos make very clear its intended as yuri. Either way, there will never be a real "surprise yuri against the odds" type of situation. I'm the biggest yurifag on the planet, but I know that the single thing anime studios have as their goal is NOT to put surprise endings in their otaku comfort food shows. If KyoAni ever does yuri, we'll know upfront.
>marching with Gotou's tuba, if you know what I mean
Natsuki best and deepest girl
That's half her body weight. If she hugged it, her arms wouldn't even reach around the whole case.
Hazuki is way stronger than the average girl. Most don't even play tuba because it's too big for them.
What's more, Hazuki was on pom-pom duty. She didn't need to bring her instrument, so she was probably carrying someone else's just to be helpful. Sasuga best girl.
Kousaka's peers didn't think much of her, huh?
Like I said, pointless.
Honestly, if marching was confined to side streets or large open fields, I wouldn't care nearly as much. I always hated having to figure out how to fucking leave when we reached the end of a march, and I always hate running into a parade that has closed down something.
>looks at Suichi
Well, well, well, well, well, well, well.
Aoi chan confirmed for slacker.
Also KyoAni what the fuck, where was her today? I wanted to see her in marching uniform.
Kumiko was already being pretty complimentary towards him, though, and it seems that all of the hostility in the band towards him has totally drained away for now. "Cool" was the only compliment she picked her up on.
I've yet to watch this, but it's weirding me out that all the trombones are bass trombones. What's up with that? They definitely LOOK cooler, but I remember most bands I ran into only having one at most.
