I'd prefer a partial adaptation with tighter focus. My biggest gripe with the series was that it felt like Erikson wanted to show off the entire setting he had come up with and shove every cool idea and character concept he had ever had into the story while he was at it. It was still pretty great, but I don't think complete adaptation would appeal to me that much. Adaptation of Deadhouse Gates would be pretty neat, though.

If you like epic fantasy, yes. It's sort of a mess in terms of the amount of shit that happens, but it's enjoyable. The first book is like a crash course on how NOT to do worldbuilding, though, so beware.

It is definitely worth a read as it is, though.

Excellent answer. When I read that book I couldn't shake the feeling that it was as pulpy as most anime. Obviously there are a few things that would have to get changed around. But I think you could really make it work. The difficulty would be convincing a typical anime audience not to perceive the Idirans as irredeemable bad guys because they look like scary space monsters and the Culture as automatic saviors because they are mostly represented by a cute girl in that story.
