The episode after the next one is going to be a timeskip. It'll show a dark and grim landscape dominated by the berserk Giftias, quarantined areas, secluded utopias, and an entire populace split between the haves and have nots.

MC, after aptly losing his left eye to Isla who's now MIA, is now part of an old ragtag group of rebels along with his former coworkers. Of course, Michiru still being the hotblooded bitch she is, has taken initiative to lead their squad after their boss died to save their asses. Their mission is to shutdown the Giftias and takedown the corporation behind it all.

Also, having been a witness to the downfall of the orient for the past few years, America has deemed it necessary to purge numerous areas plagued by Giftias by bombing them to oblivion because obviously EMP and all that shit won't work due to technobabble. Unfortunately, one of the areas to be bombed is where MC and the resistance's main base of operation is at. They lie at the edge of the largest bastion of humanity in Japan. It's also where the very corporation is located.

The time limit is a month.

Failure is an inevitability, so it must be a consideration whenever you design anything.

Most often a design that performs worse, has half the effective lifespan, but doesn't fucking destroy everything it interacts with at failure is preferable to a design that performs better, lasts longer, but destroys everything in its wake when it finally does fail.

From design perspective, a Giftia with a lifespan of 5 years that quietly shuts down is better than one that lasts almost ten but goes berserk with what seems to be a 100% failure rate
