Don't disappoint me Dogakobo.
Why don't studio sell theses?
Now you don't have to watch it this week.
This is just to TRY HARD
I hate using that but literally it is just is going over the top just cause.
Where were you when this show become good?
>tfw you make an anime that gets heavily referenced right next to Blade Runner and Eva
It's humanity that will be obsolete.
That should mostly invalidate the general "planned obsolescence to sell more androids" speculah, right? Because it's one thing if they just shut down and quietly failed, them going berserk and killing people is another.
The original speculah was that they just become senile old coots who forget everything you tell them.
But now we know they turn into zombiesque killing machines instead.
Totally not like the forgetful old woman who lives down the street.
What the fuck is going on in that image?
Was that guy with the tazer in the beginning from another company trying to sabotage this one? It's the only reason that I can think of as to why someone would make the robots go berserk on purpose.
Did they ever explain why she stopped playing the flute?
The entire shows premise is retarded if that's what happens to them. Giftia manufacturers would have long been up on mass corporate manslaughter charges and the whole thing scrapped. It only works if you assume the laws in this anime are fucking crazy.
More than this, any decent QA department would have laughed the engineers out of the room once they heard that the Giftias go on murderous rampages. I hate the meme as much as everyone else, but this is literally forced drama.
Not them but, a good cyberpunk story will establish rules that are at least sort of consistent. This show kind of feels like its just throwing shit at the wall world-building wise every episode and it feels totally scattershot.
The episode after the next one is going to be a timeskip. It'll show a dark and grim landscape dominated by the berserk Giftias, quarantined areas, secluded utopias, and an entire populace split between the haves and have nots.
MC, after aptly losing his left eye to Isla who's now MIA, is now part of an old ragtag group of rebels along with his former coworkers. Of course, Michiru still being the hotblooded bitch she is, has taken initiative to lead their squad after their boss died to save their asses. Their mission is to shutdown the Giftias and takedown the corporation behind it all.
Also, having been a witness to the downfall of the orient for the past few years, America has deemed it necessary to purge numerous areas plagued by Giftias by bombing them to oblivion because obviously EMP and all that shit won't work due to technobabble. Unfortunately, one of the areas to be bombed is where MC and the resistance's main base of operation is at. They lie at the edge of the largest bastion of humanity in Japan. It's also where the very corporation is located.
The time limit is a month.
This isn't the first and won't be the last story where a company put on the market some kind of android which can ,and will, go on killing rampage keeping it secret.
You can't use IRL logic for this kind of setting
There's two scenarios. Either the company didn't know about the problem, or they did know. If they did know, they wouldn't have released it. If they didn't know, then when it did happen, it would have been a massive scandal. The company would have been forced to pull the product and possibly face lawsuits.
I imagine that they did not know when they were originally introduced, but that the protoypes went berserk and they scrambled to come up with a plan to dispatch the boomers before they went berserk.
It's my main problem with writing in this series. Situation like previous episode when Giftia is raising little kid when people know it would be taken after short period of time shouldn't happen in any sane country. From moral standpoint this show hurts to watch.
Why would they even do that instead of, you know, attempting to fix the problem altogether? It looks like SAI Corporation holds a monopoly on the Giftia industry, so there's no real competition and demand for their products without them.
>Gee we designed this thing with a fixed memory storage, should we find out what happens when it hits this limit, you know run some tests?
>Nah, fuck it, what's the worst that could happen?
This was a good fucking episode, That fucking Dad scene was heartbreaking.
Did he shut down Isla? I fucking hope so cause the story will progress better if he did.
Isla will probably trip and fall, and the shot will hit its intended target.
She's absent from office because her leg is still messed up.
Kudos to Dogakobo for attempting a bait-and-switch though.
Also, they did a really good job making the crazy eyes.
His tears were delicious.
I hope for more in the upcoming episodes.
>goes to shoot Marcia
>Isla jumps in
I really fucking hate when this happens. Such a cheap attempt at drama and a cliffhanger when we know Isla will be just fine.
Plastic Memories confirmed for trainwreck tier.
Be careful about calling an argument "really fucking stupid" when you managed to completely misunderstand the argument.
Failure is an inevitability, so it must be a consideration whenever you design anything.
Most often a design that performs worse, has half the effective lifespan, but doesn't fucking destroy everything it interacts with at failure is preferable to a design that performs better, lasts longer, but destroys everything in its wake when it finally does fail.
From design perspective, a Giftia with a lifespan of 5 years that quietly shuts down is better than one that lasts almost ten but goes berserk with what seems to be a 100% failure rate
“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”
Tsukasa you STUPID MOTHERFUCKER
This is why Japan removes older cars from the roads they say.
Shame it isn't true.
What is the meaning of the last scene?
>What do you want from me Blade Runner?
Someone is off the list
Tsukasa gonna take all the shit on him for this ain't it? They all gonna make it like everything is his fucking fault and about how he should trust his bipolar, incompetent and bugged nakama isn't it?
I believe it was implied that Office #1 is the only one that tries to talk people into voluntarily giving up their Giftias, and that's why they have a really high overhead.
The other offices just send in law enforcement.
Why does this show get worse with every episode? I just wanted Blade Runner with cute girls. Or at least science fiction. Not a romantic comedy.
It's a half-truth. Sure planned obsolescence is a significant factor, but it coincides with other considerations that take precedent, such as reducing weight for the sake of fuel efficiency, and crash safety.
Reason most modern cars today fold like tin cans in an accident compared to older ones is because they're deliberately designed to crumple in such a way that redirects the energy from impact and preserves the passenger zone as much as possible.
I'm going to buy another old car and drive it. I can deal with points and carbs, fuck this new age shit.
Killing them is mandatory before they go feral. GPS tracking also involves invasion of the owner's privacy since if you can track the giftia you might also be a able to track the owner.
>starting to approach trainwreck territory
I bet that there is a greater antagonist behind the scenes. He wants Marcia to break down, so he picked up Souta and dropped him off near the place.
I gather the antagonist wants to see Giftias removed from society by demonstrating that they are dangerous.
>NOBODY GETS IN OR OUT
>Except this kid right here.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Why can't they just program the robots to delete everything before becoming wanderers?
>army and team can't find them
>the cripple couple does
I don't want to say forced but come on.
Where we are getting to the problem how something that could function like pretty OP weapon with some upgrades, heck probably even without them, can find their way between civilians, or even sole children. Can't help but think that the morals in this show are all over the place
It had to be planned by someone. Otherwise there's no fucking way that it could have happened.
Yes, but why not just put an emergency shutdown in case they don't make it in time?
As it is now you have a small chance of your android going berserk and killing your whole family.
I thought we could kill tracking.
Do they also have big ass neon sign over the enterance?
This is boarderline grotesue now.
The population is obviously completely in the dark. Giftia specs are way off the charts. There would be no need for anti Giftia guns if they couldn't do what they're capable of doing when passing the limit. Why don't they have a remote shut down function or an automatic shut down once the limit is reached? That's insane! Obviously they weren't meant for commercial use. Either that, or they're being tested before sent to the military. I bet the whole time limit itself is made up bullshit in the first place.
You guys try too hard. There's plenty of reasons to dislike this show, but it's obvious that some of these complaints (how did the kid get in there) will get expanded on in the next episode.
What the fuck is this logic?
If they hadn't interfered you would be dead you stupid fucking cunt. In fact, if you had let them do their job properly in the first place the other bitch wouldn't have a busted leg for life.
Heh, it even sounded like a Dominator.
Marcia wants to make some physically intimate menories with you, anon.
But she can no longer retain any of it, so she just keeps riding you.
Eventually she won't remember why either.
>but it's obvious that some of these complaints (how did the kid get in there) will get expanded on in the next episode
You can never underestimate how retarded a show can be. Most of the stuff about the Giftias is retarded and doesn't make sense. Who gives a shit how a random 7 year old wandered in there? Fucking sewers or some shit.
I'm guessing Marcia jumped to the top of the same building where they first found her, while Michiru and the rest were searching somewhere a lot further.
Doesn't make it any less hard to believe, but it's possible.
I have a feeling. This is the same show that showed a scene to justify how a crippled, slow-moving couple found a fast-moving robot on a random rooftop before a bunch of trained army guys. It seems strange to cover that base and then completely fuck up something a lot more obvious.
Well I'm talking about GPS signal, not cell tower pings.
Again, that's because she was already feral. Probably more prone to being set off by sudden noises or movements then.
I should write for this show
"Almost reached" was a poor choice of words though, because in that situation there was no fucking way they'd be able to shut her down without her freaking out again.
>human rights for androids
>not using GPS to track down dangerous androids
>not letting the professionals do their job, because of my emotions
>not understanding that androids are objects and robots shouldn't have rights
This is going to serve as foreshadowing or something, I swear.
Isla is going to go critical and she's going to somehow develop automatic non-critical memory disposal through the power of love.
It strikes me that the only way Giftia and the support structure for their existence could only come to be that way if somehow SAI does not have a full grasp on the inner workings of the very product they are selling and manufacturing.
So who designed these things then? God? Aliens? Dr. Light?
Isla is already fixed courtesy of virus-kun.
If isla were dead, her name would've been completely removed from the board rather than just being marked absent. most likely she was partially injured from the dominator
but then this is Plastic Memories so shit doesn't need to make sense
a possible twist is that the dominator destroyed the planned obsolescence part of her programming. therefore when tsukasa inevitably refuses to put isla down and goes on the run like a good mc, there is a means to discover this aspect of the programming and then everyone gets to live happily ever after with their robo moeblobs
All is part of the keikaku of the anti-androids faction, they could use a dead kid as a martyr, and show to the population the danger of having an android in your home.
