Flame of Recca on the other hand could stand a remake. The anime was...decent...but the lack of an actual ending and them cutting out like HALF the better parts of the manga hurt

well honestly I think the 3kings suffers the whole Jinchu problem. Where the series logical conclusion was about one work earlier than the publishers wanted the series to end.

People liked to complain about the anime filler, and they're right too, but the thing is the manga wasn't exactly at it's A-material at that point either

Honestly, the series was pretty shit. The only enjoyable parts were the tournaments and the sensui fight and those weren't enough. The mangaka was so shit that he didn't even bother drawing the last tournament so the animators had to do it for him.

The Ushio and Tora anime actually gave me hope that Recca will get a proper anime someday.

I'm happy Devilman is getting a new anime. There hasn't been a good one since the 80s OVA and those ended before the manga started getting really crazy.

I still think it's a fun anime, and it's one of the few fighting shounen worth watching. The criticism about the last arc is legit, but that's mostly because Shounen Jump wanted to milk the series like they later did Bleach, and Togashi wasn't having it. He quit rather than let the editors ruin his manga. I'm 100% okay with that.

When Kyoto ended Kenshin was forced to confront his past full force. It wasn't just some random asshole with a grudge, Shishio was his own twisted reflection and an unavoidable consequence of the war that he recklessly entered.

The gravestone was just a symbol of the life he left behind and that while he accepted who he was he was ready to finally be something else. It didn't matter who it belonged too and frankly the mystery was rather nice.

Instead with Jinchu and the flash back we got some lame ass sob story filled with shallow emotional manipulation and you know what we where back too for villains?

seriously, the Recca anime we got was pretty average but the later manga chapters really pushed it above average. Lot of cool shit would have been down the road. Really sad we never got to see the Fuuko vs Raiha stuff. Still Gashakura's my nig so that was cool.

That all said I wouldn't be upset if a new anime kept Fuuko a red head. I think she looks better that way

I actually heard about a new anime being rumored I think as early as this Summer, but I didn't know it got announced recently. Goddamn I can't wait. I just hope its a better then some of the othershit Actas has put out. Didn't watch Girls Under Panzer because I didn't care, and although DOUBLE JEEG and the old protag being an actual character was fucking awesome, the rest of Koutetsushin Jeeg was overall pretty forgettable.

Makes sense, Go Nagai and his associates are usually really tight lipped when releasing stuff. Either that or a lot of it is lost in translation, but I remember hearing somewhere that it was more the former then the latter. Either way its definitely on my watch list.
