I've got it at a 7/10 so far. First episode was good, 2nd and 3rd were kinda meh but 4th was good again. Think it'll probably be an 8 overall

The original novel series is written by the guy that did Legend of The Galactic Heroes with illustrations by the guy that does the concept artwork for the Final Fantasy series. The manga adaptation which this TV series is based on is by the author/artist of Full Metal Alchemist. This is indeed extremely far from being your typical seasonal anime that is super niche but people mistake for not niche because it moves Blu-Rays to otaku collectors and people seem to think that's the sole indicator of somethings popularity.

Japan has a highly oppressed LGBT community that gets the same kind of treatment that Japan's Bushido business oriented culture loves to give to just about any present subculture within it's cultural dominion. It's not full on Russia lock you up because you're gay and protest about it level bad, but it's pretty damn bad.
