Anime of The Decade will soon be upon us.
>>124567062
Kaguya-hime is already out.
>>124567062
>that music again
My dick.
>>124567080
I would say you have shit taste, but I haven't seen Kaguya-hime.
So I'll just call you a faggot.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOTOKO NI WAAAAAAAAAAA JIIIIIIIBUN WOOOOOOOO SEKAAAAAAAAAAAAAI GA ARU
>>124567166
Watch it, it's arguably Takahata's masterpiece but overall its probably one of the most unique mainstream animations to ever come out of Japan.
>>124567296
Alright I'll give it a shot.
>>124567714
I kinda wish they kept the designs from Jigen's Gravestone, although these new designs are fine too.
>tfw I haven't watched any of Lupin III
Where do I start?
>>124567962
From the start, you fucking retard
>>124567962
Lupin episode zero is a pretty good starter movie. It explains some of the back story for the characters. But Lupin movies are like Bond movies, they are always good and it doesn't matter if you have any idea about the series.
>>124567962
Lupin Series 1 and 2
Manga
Castle of Cagliostro
The Last Job
Daisuke Jigen's Gravestone
Episode 0
Dead or Alive
Island of Assassins
and more that I don't feel like typing.
>>124567962
Series 1, 2 if you have the time. I don't see why people always say Cagliostro, it wasn't even that good.
>>124568144
You really don't need all that.
So, Fall, huh?
At least it gives me time to catch up on Lupin III media I haven't seen yet in preparation for AOTY.
I think it's supposed to air in Italy next month so hopefully someone will sub it.
>>124568337
>So, Fall, huh?
No, you retard. In May
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRBQz-yd7-Q
>>124567962
Start with Arsène Lupin Gentleman-cambrioleur
>>124568140
The continuity of Lupin III is all over the place. First Contact is just ONE version of their origin. It's Jigen's story about how they met. There's no true origin or continuity to the series.
After the avant garde pretentious series that was Mine Fujiko, I wasn't sure when we would see a true Lupin III series/movie again. Faith in humanity has been restored.
>>124569472
Fujiko Mine was good, but it wasn't based on Lupin which i very much disliked.
But that being said now we're getting a real Lupin anime it makes a GREAT lead in to the real event.
That looked fantastic.
>>124568337
But wasn't it fall for Japan, May for Italy?
>>124572564
"Lupin III" new TV series, preceded broadcasting in Italy in May 2015, the fall in Japan, NTV other in broadcasting decision!
>>124572683
So we only have to wait weeks
Are you saying there is only fucking WEEKS until this madnass hits /a/?
It's airing in Italy before Japan, but what about CR? Will we have to rely on actual fansubbing like primitive cavemen?
>>124573826
>preferring CR to fansubs
>>124574010
>preferring to rely on egotistic memespammers with no work ethic
Great. Now I gotta get a blue jacket.
Actually, I was already thinking of getting one like that.
>>124567962
The Woman Called Fujiko Mine
>>124568531
>>124572564
>implying anyone's going to sub the Italian version
I mean, didn't it take people ages to sub Wakfu, and even then it was far cry from quality anime watchers are used to?
I'd prefer to wait for the Japanese version.
>>124574061
>Commie is the only existing fansub
>>124574061
>Implying that the memers we know and love have anybody that speaks Italian
>>124573826
>actual fansubbing
do you really think the subs for the Italian version are going to be acceptable in any sense
>>124567714
What's your favorite Lupin episode?
Mine is One Chance for a Prison Break.
>>124574286
well, Italian is quite easier to translate than Japanese, and there are many more people speaking it.
Hell, you can likely count on Italians making English subs.
>>124574860
Same, that episode is fantastic.
>>124571995
>Fujiko Mine was good
Oh look it's THIS retard
>>124575040
the thing that pisses me off the most about Fujiko Mine is that it had the potential to be good. We saw some GREAT episodes out of it, but they were few and far between.
>>124575128
Basically any episode in which Fujiko or Oscar weren't the focus. As you can see I greatly despised the boarding school episode.
>>124575186
same here. I can't believe there are people who defend Oscar
>>124574886
I seriously doubt it, Italy must have their own fansubbing community and there's no reason for Italian speaking people doing English fansubs outside this one instance. Not to mention that Italy has relatively low % of English-speakers.Some time ago I wanted to watch some French and Italian movies, most of them did not have any subs despite being few years old, and those which had were translated very badly.
>>124574860
Shot Through The Heart and The Pink Panther parody episode.
>>124575266
Many Italians follow English releases because they are often faster and there are much less Japanese-to-Italian translators than Japanese-to-English, resulting in many series not having Italian subs.
Italians also like to reciprocate help received, and at least one or two are going to translate the series in English, though they might leave timesetting\editing\etc to "locals"
>>124568140
>But Lupin movies are like Bond movies, they are always good
Fucking dropped.
>>124568140
>But Lupin movies are like Bond movies, they are always good
Dead or Alive and The Secret of Mamo are shit
>>124574886
>>124575266
>>124575390
Pretty sure an Italian anon said he was trying to get a team to translate this last thread.
>>124575594
Fuck you. The Secret of Mamo is one of the best.
>>124575644
is that the immortal akira kid who had a garden full of the hitlers and napoleons of history?
it was shit
>>124575721
You just have bad taste.
>>124575594
What the hell was wrong with Dead or Alive?
>>124575754
Everything!
>>124575754
Really shitty character designs
Plot is a clusterfuckLupin's new voice sucks
Even MP said he hated working on it.
>>124575390
>>124575610
If we get a single decently translated episode by the end of May I will be extremely happy and reconsider validity of the lazy Italian stereotype.
Is Return of Pycal the worst Lupin movie?
>>124576191
Napoleon's Dictionary was pretty awful.
>>124576191
That would be Caglistro
Will this be another trippy owl-fest or will it be good?
>>124576452
No since the original team behind the first Lupin anime is working on it so it'll be more instyle of the first anime than Scooby Doo Red Japan Lupin and Nolan Green Jacket Luin.
>>124576349
pls go
>>124576698
Why is Ed, Edd, n Eddy there?
>>124576762
>he didn't read Ed Edd and Eddy no Lupin 3rd
fucking secondary
>>124576349
Alright I'll bite.
Why?
>>124577290
Literally NOT MUH LUPIN
>>124567062
>Not red Lupin.
Why even bother?
>>124568144
Why are the pinks so goofy? It's like it's trying way too much.
>>124577832
Green Jacket is better.
>>124567062
FUCK YES! The hype is real!!!!
Who's the blond?
>>124577351
This makes no sense.
>>124567062
Who /moeomon/ here?
I want to get into it, but I don't want to watch that ancient old stuff. Is there a newer season which doesn't look like it's made with camera obscura where I still kind of get introduced to everything?
>>124577832
>Lupin we've never seen before
Your loss.
>>124578434
Are you literally autistic?
>>124578434
Nope
There are some movies and tv specials though
>>124567714
Why did the car show up in the ending
>>124578434
>not watching old stuff simply because it looks old
Kill yourself.
>a car in movement that isn't CGshit for once
HOLY SHIT.
>>124578307
>Who's the blond?
Looks like Lupin's new wife.
>>124567062
Lupin can't steal beams
>>124580345
But can he steal dank memes?
>>124579007
Thank based Tomonaga.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxbum3is6G0
>>124580909
>char
>>124581566
I didn't notice that.
If Yuji Ohno is going to use the classic theme, I hope it's a new version withlyrics in Italian.
>>124583477
You made me curious about the italian Lupin OPs, so I went ahead and googled them.
I have no idea what they're saying, but they're pretty nice, truth be told. I think it's all of them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng1aRpKZT9M
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3UJXUK_0EE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdfbIu70FZI
>>124583995
you forgot the first Italian opening:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yqZJ5eNVkk
It's even in English, so you should be able to understand what generations of little kids were listening during lunchtime or afternoon snack break. On national television.
>>124583995
>Pink Jacket OP
Shit, i recognize that song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zrGjc0UEgU
>>124584141
I really like the song but damn is Planet O really unfitting for the first TV series.Perfect to listen to while reading the manga though.
>>124584141
That's... quite something for sure. Is that really a Lupin OP? I'd expect that for a Leiji Matsumoto anime, maybe, not Lupin though.
>>124584493
I think it would have been fitting for The Woman Called Fujiko Mine
Why aren't you raping her soul?
>>124584546
Yep, the first opening.
I think those who chose it as opening weren't really good at English...
>>124567962
start by visiting the home of Maurice LeBlanc in Etretat, Normandy. Then you might be ready to read the first Lupin stories, and on your way to someday watching the anime.
if you're lucky.
>>124584603
> Fujiko
> soul
>>124584897
Don't forget training every day with your top hat, monocle, cape and cane ensemble.
>>124584897
I've been doing it wrong all this time. I better arrange a visit ASAP.
So is it generally agreed on that in most cases Dubbed Lupin > Subbed Lupin?
>>124585351
That house looks super-comfy.
>>124585345
Better get to practicing your jiu-jitsu, faggots.
>>124585362
Depends on your tastes, tbh. Yasuo Yamada will always be Lupin to me.
>>124585362
Not enormously so, but a lot of the dubwork you can tell they're having a lot of fun with and not just phoning it in for a paycheck.
>>124567962
"Where do I start" should be bannable.
>>124585611
It's in every single Lupin thread. Might as well roll with it.
>>124585495
This.
Even that weird airline dub of Secret of Mamo is pretty good just for that.
>>124585471
>>124585495
Just making sure I wasn't missing out on anything by watching it in English.
I grew up on the english dub and now I find it uncomfortable if Lupin's voice is different.
Actually made it kinda hard to watch Cagliostro at first.
>>124585935
>ruining a Mercedes SSK
What a shame.
>>124586766
There being a shitton of different English language voices for Lupin III is pretty much par the course. If lack of consistency is a problem then you probably should watch it in Japanese.
>>124586817
In Lupin's universe, he's the reason why the Mercedes-Benz SSK is a rare car.
>>124577290
So people actually dislike Castle of Cagliostro? I can understand if it's not your favorite, but thinking it's bad is just plain wrong to me.
It could just be my nostalgia factor, but I saw that movie when I was 12 and I still think it's fantastic. I showed it my younger siblings when they were about the same age and they loved it and it got them into anime and Lupin.
>>124587128
Red Jacket Lupin's voice will always be Lupin to me.
>>124585345
This gonna be some Ken-sama shit but bear with me.
I was a little too old for it, so when Naruto got started I kinda missed the whole wearing the headbands and ninja running everywhere trend.
But I was still susceptible to that kind of shit. So Cowboy Bebop's airing on TV, I'm desperate to find something else like it, I stumble upon Lupin, I'm hooked, I wanna live this. I start studying the Gospel according to Lupin III.
I start getting in shape, I gotta be the kind of guy that run and climb distances while carrying loot and be able to brawl with thugs. I told the guys at the gym I was going to college in a sketchy area(not totally a lie) and wanted to be a little prepared. Sure, I ain't gonna stop bullets but it wouldn't hurt if a guy comes at you with a knife or tries to just smash and grab.
I got fucking tailored sports jackets. Some in more neutral colors but I did get a maroon and a green one. I didn't take up smoking though. E-cigs weren't that big yet, and Drive wouldn't be out for another decade so something like toothpicks or something else never came to mind. I grew carefully maintained sideburns. I bought an airsoft Walther P38. I bought my best friend a fedora. He never wore it.
This wasn't an everyday thing, I didn't have money for that kind of wardrobe every day. People thought I was in an amateur ska band or something, but it did grant me a lot more self-confidence.Green vs Red hit too close to home.
>>124587383
Well, if we're doing this. Around the time Lupin was airing on AS, I started dressing and acting like Jigen and was even seriously considering learning how to use a gun.But that wasn't appropriate for a 14 year old girl so I stopped.
>>124587810
Girls in suits is my fetish
>>124587189
I think it has become cool not to like Castle of Cagliostro now. Now that everyone knows it is the mostly popular and highly regarded Lupin movie.
Personally, it's just not my favorite. My favorite Lupin movie is The Mystery of Mamo. However, Castle of Cagliostro is still a great and gorgous film and I'm gettin' that shit on Bluray.
>>124587351
I have a soft spot for Krillin Lupin thanks to the old Lupin streams.
>>124567962
It's called Lupin III, where the fuck do you think you should start?Start with Lupin I and then watch Lupin II.
>Blue jacket
What
>>124589128
Get out from under that rock, son.
>>>/v/292297850>>>/v/292297849Lupin stole a thumbnail.

>>124585362
Hell no. Just the opposite.

YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD GET AWAY WITH THIS THUMBNAIL, LUPIN?
