I like Hestia's design, but holy shit the anime is bad.

That is someone who loves harems and otaku pandering too. The anime is ATROCIOUS. It is like a completely shitty copy of SAO, with everything that was good tossed out and everything that was bad even worse.

What the fuck is up with the random RPG stats thing? It made sense in SAO but why is it here? There are no stats, they are not in a fucking game. What is that garbage?

You knew from the beginning it would just end with her giving him him the knife, why did they made completely fake drama for 15 minutes? And why did the mc cry like a little bitch because she FAINTED?

At least Kirito had an excuse to be overpowered because he was one of the first people to play this game, but this shitty mc is OP for no reason. He has an ability nobody ever heard of before and suddenly he gets becomes stronger than all the other adventurers who have been doing this for years in a SINGLE day of grinding because of his shitty plot ability.

I hate the main character so much, the best thing they could do with this show is kill him off and turn it into a hentai of Hestia getting raped.

Here's the secret, don't watch shitty light novel harem anime if you don't want to hear Matsuoka. It's not like he's ever going to be in anything actually good, most directors from the pre-late night era would probably laugh him right out of the studio.

Anyway it's funny cause even Japanese fans seem to hate him for similar reasons at this point and think he's way overused as a harem lead and projects a certain sort of anti-charisma. Now we just need producers to realize that the anime he's been in that have been successful have largely been successful in spite of him and because they're already popular properties, not because he contributes anything in particular to the leading role and that they need to keep casting him. He's been extremely lucky as it stands as have a few other recently popular seiyuu that honestly kind of suck.

Honestly Fate at this point just seems to exist to be popular and little else. It's an adaptation of an old ass eroge that has already been adapted into anime format already. It has good production values but everybody is either already a die hard fan of it and knows the content like the back of their hands and is just waiting to see how it translates into a flashy anime so they can complain about it or not or is just following the hype cause they have nothing else better to do and can't decide what they like on their own.

It's starting to dawn on me too that I've never really liked a Type/Moon work so much as I just kind of liked Kara no Kyokai. Kara no Kyokai is to this day the only thing I've seen from Type Moon that I still liked and could call a good functional complete work that executed on it's themes and got me to give a fuck about the cast by the end of it all and where I didn't feel like I needed to come at it from an otaku centric POV to get the most out of it, which is something I'm not willing to entertain.

In KnK everything kind of comes together in the end despite an out of order exposition (totally unnecessary all the same but not a death sentence like I initially thought it was going to be after seeing the first movie), it's not patronizing, there are no annoying characters or retarded antagonists with incomprehensible motives and philosophies, the themes ultimately make sense in the end and while bittersweet the ending doesn't feel like some sort of inconclusive tragedy porn while still managing to have an element of sacrifice to it.

It's not a flawless masterpiece by any stretch and the first movie is still easily the worst (unsurprisingly the one by the Aldnoah guy) and the series suffers from overly cryptic dialogue syndrome at times, but it's a hell of a lot better and more thematically mature than anything I've seen of Fate Series (this includes Fate/Zero and it's dull as sandpaper cast) and it amazes me all the more that it's apparently just created out of a series of out of order chapters originally released as a web novel ala The Silmarillion while Fate is the fully finished commercial entity with like 3 distinct routes.

I feel without the awkward and pretentious storytelling style Fate has going on that is all the rage nowadays it's pretty much just your average shonen/waifu franchise. Granted KnK kind of did it too, it just felt a lot more suited to it somehow.
