Don't need range to be a good voice actor. They vary.

There are tons of VA's with bad range but great acting skills, Midorikawa is one of those.

/a/ seems to love hating on based Matsuoka lately too because he voices characters they hate, but his acting skills is nothing to laugh at.

Midorikawa gets more work in visual novels these days than he does anime roles. So unless you're an avid player of otome, it makes sense you'd think he's taken a back seat in the VA world.

That's because Koyasu plays every goddamn cliche anime villain man ever, which is a job you can keep up forever. (see: Wakamoto) Midorikawa even now is primarily a bishounen seiyuu and there are not that many chances for 46 year old guys to play bishounen in anime these days.
