Ghost in the Shell's OP's and ED's are the kind of thing in which it depends on your living situation, your mood, the time of day/night, and the seasons during the first time you hear/watch them.

After seeing them for the first time, most instances after that, namely, rewatching the series, you'll recall the wonder and amazement you felt the first time; nostalgia - for a brief time after the OP / ED starts to play.

Any good series that you watch will always leave a lasting impression on you, and when you re-watch the series, you will likely remember the mood you were in, the temperature it was outside, and a lot of other things that, as silly as it may be, or even sound, always create a very unreal experience the second or third sitting.

This is the nature of nostalgia.

Speaking of reimaginings, at some point when we, I like to imagine anyways - hear the news that some series, somewhere, at some point - is getting recognition by the American entertainment industrial complex, I like to think that some of us actually hope that aspiring authors, mangakas, animators, etc etc, working in japan who see this happen to series upon series, anime upon anime, usually get uplifted and happy over the fact that their series, which started out as practically nothing, got so popular and beloved that it even got taken in by the industrial complex and it pains me to know that, all the way over there in japan, they have no way of knowing how bad it actually is for this to happen, and that in reality the pinacle of popularity is for their series to simply be animated, dubbed in english voices, and sold in american stores AS IT ORIGINALLY IS.

Even having your manga translated into english by a legitimate partner company is good enough by some standards, maybe I just can't comprehend the glory these authors and artists in japan must feel as they wonder about how much attention their creation must be getting when it's announced in a country like good ol murrica as being adopted into live action?
