Shirobako is the greatest slice of life anime of all time. I will fight you on this
>effortlessly balances a large cast of memorable characters
>set in the working world instead of high school for the millionth time
>can be realistic and relatable while also being fun and goofy
>actually learned a lot about making anime
>perfect balance of drama and comedy
>too many best girls to keep track of
>hideaki anno is a character
>even the anime instead this anime were fun to watch
I think the shows that they were making were supposed to seem tacky to represent the tackiness of anime in relation to real life. Does that make sense? It's pretty meta.
They were caricatures. They exaggerated aspects of the shows in order to make them more interesting/amusing to consider during production.
This makes sure the anime they're making is actually considered by the audience and not just thought of as the background task that the shirobako cast are doing.
As such, the viewers are watching because they want to see not only what happens next in the studio, but also what happens in the anime they're making.
