Kekkai Sensen is giving me major Baccano! vibes
It's giving me major
MC is adorablevibes.
This is now an official Kekkai Sensen thread.
Both of these. It's like the love child of Bacanno and Persona. I thought it was just due to the character designs and Jacuzzi Splot playing the MC, but as of ep. 2 that's a pretty apt comparison after all.
Thanks doomsayer, I will.
True words. Wearing a cropped jacked like that is just shounen manga code for 'begging for cock in every orifice.'
Is Leo this moe in the mango as well? I'm considering reading it because I can't get enough of boy of the season.
He's still cute but not as conventionally I guess, also the manga has way more silly faces so you rarely see him drawn that seriously. I think he starts to look more like the anime design in the later books though, the early art's kinda awkward, especially in retrospect.
And nice (yu kobayashi) is chain.
It's not just a miniature baccano reunion eith, now three of the cast are in Lupin. (sawashiro , ohtska, nakamura)
So with this, new gintama, and new blue jacket lupin, you'll be hearing a lot of them this season.
I don't expect White and Leo stuff to be that exciting, just have them bond before any dropping any plot points until later.
cuteparts of Klaus's personality haven't been featured so far, so doing this story is great and gives him the chance to shine.
Can't get enough of that ED.
>Klaus firm but very small and tender moves
>Chain slipping and Klaus helping her instantly
>K.K. swinging her leg like crazy
>Klauss wearing shades and K.K. right next to him drinking and having fun
This one is really good especially considering their bro-like relationship which we'll get more in the next episode
>Zapp just being crazy
>those sweet Femt moves
>that girls-only and guys-only party
>K.K. being angry at Stephen when she dances with him
>Chain being overall so tender
And a lot more. They just so much nailed it.
The LN and Manga have been around for a while. People have always loved Hestia. She has her own spin-off manga for fucks sake.
I almost didn't watch it because someone said it was shitty shounenshit in another thread.
I was expecting another Deadman Wonderland or something.
I'm glad I did watch it. In my top five for the season so far.
> More Klaus next episode
Yes plz. by the way is the original pitch story for kekkai sensen cannon?
Just curious as it's a bit interesting that a character's who's origins are vampire related takes on more of an apperance known to werewolf types.
I would pay for just 24 minutes of this a week.
>I almost didn't watch it because someone said it was shitty shounenshit in another thread.
Seriously? Never listen to the word of someone else and form your own opinion. Half the people here don't like anime and the other half are shitposters.
>People have always loved Hestia
Many artists that spamming her arts doesn't even know her existence until 1st episode aired and they suddenly drawing her like motherfucker.
Again, i'm very shocked of the sudden popularity of her.
Yeah, yeah I know. I picked up almost the entire season to try out this time though, and a lot was unremarkable. I got desperate to filter some stuff out.
I still haven't gotten to Punchline, the food show, or the Subaru magical girl show yet.
/a/ consensus is that it was supposed to be an insult, like "cock-sucker"/"He's an ass" or something, but then Nips attempting English happened. So it's a legitimate case of unintentionally hilarious Engrish getting through.
You mean the pilot? They do fight some vampires, called blood breeds, but the series is pretty episodic and there's other threats. As far as I know, the whole vatican backing Libra thing is no more.
Here hopefully this does the trick.
Nightow really like Hellboy movie that Del Toro directed.
How many mangaka or anime industry people like western movies? The recent was Obari fucking loves Pacific Rim.
Any /a/nons know moon? The website is a goldmine.
>terminology page http://kekkaisensen.com/story/dictionary.html
>interviews with seiyuu, updated weekly to include the guest stars of the next episode
It's pretty cool site in general. Weekly updated character page to include the upcoming episode and includes their character designs, upcoming episode screen shots, and every single promotional video (PVs and commercials) so far.
Who knows, but hopefully its enough to see more western influences. I'd like to see the kind of material created from both japanese and western influences mixed together. with the creators being of japan origin.
Hopefully any figure comes out for him soon.
It looks bad because *insert opinions here*.
Shinichiro Watanabe is a huge westaboo. You probably knew that, though.
- Tsutomu Nihei (tech)
- Barasui (music)
- Araki (music and fashion, among others)
- Keiichi Satou (cape comics)
- Kenichi Sonoda (cars and guns, plus he probably knows more about Chicago now than some people who live there)
- Hideo Kojima (military and all kinds of other shit; so westb he named a character Otacon)
- Gen Urobuchi (seems to be pretty well-read, including a lot of western literature)
- reportedly Kinoko Nasu also
- Imaishi or whoever it was at Trigger that wanted to put the cast of Pulp Fiction in the background of that one Kill La Kill episode
Feel free to add others.
Also, if there's an anti-Westaboo creator it would probably be Koji Kumeta.
>Revolmini figures of Klaus and Zapp coming out
THANK YOU, ZAPP!
>OP & ED is great
>enjoyed second episode than the first episode
There still hope for Japan i see. Matsumoto deserve some recognition over her brilliant work.
Also, holy shit, I almost forgot the original westaboo creator himsef.
Episode 3's guest seiyuu are Nappa and Benedict Cumberbatch
>Klaus does his properly
>Sonic makes monkey noises
>Leo and Zapp bicker
>Femt: Hi, Femt, king of depravity here. Go buy Kekkai Sensen BD vol 1, human race.
And where the fuck in my post did I say that you wild retard? This show has a very strong western vibe, my point was that it was so much as like Baccano! rather it's the occasional "western" anime.
From what I gathered from previous thread the nip text say something like baka baka, and some other anon translated that as "full retard".
We're simply looking at engrish at it's finest.
So what do you think their drinks are?
>2x Darker beer?
>Champaigne? Some coctail?
Is anyone else just really interested in this show because of the characters? I am such a sucker for groups of characters that are all different from each other but still care for each other. It makes me feel all warm inside. The ED pretty much gave me diabetes
>Binanan Koukou Chikyuu-Bu LOVE!
This was great, the threads were great everything about it was great.
It really was fun, I'm kinda hoping the novel will get translated.
It comes with the VA.
I'm embarrassed by how bad this season is that this is one of the better shows and I'll probably end up watching it. I'm not usually a fan of this type of show, among similar unapologetic chuunibyou action shows how does this rank so far?
At least its got cute boys and dick suck.
>Shokugeki no Soma
>Owari no Seraph (most dislike it but I'm enjoying it for generic action)
>Arslan Senki (it could potentially be good)
These are the new shows that caught my interest and the first two episodes have not disappointed me at all, some even surprised me.
Anon, please. I don't think my heart can take more.
Why's he so perfect?
Euphonium becuase its pretty, will keep watching if the plot doesn't get boring.
Mikagura because thirsty lesbian MC, but will probably drop it if the action isn't at least ok.
Ore Monogatari looks great, but not everyone likes rom com
Yamada-kun depending on how bad the adaptation is
I haven't watched Arslan yet
That is literally everything that isn't an S2 or ongoing. This season sucks.
I read the #kekkai_anime hashtag on Twitter a little. The amount of people who think kanji on screen = Kill la Kill really pisses me off. Especially because I like kanji on screen and Kill la Kill is trash.
Hospital issued jammies were cute too.
It can't be helped; MC simply bleeds moe.
I'm pretty much not interested in any of these, but I can see that at least you didn't point out generic moeshit.
>This season is much much better than winter, that's for sure.
Not "much much better" but a bit better, I c an agree.
I'm still waiting for Lupin and Digimon, those are my redeeming hopes.
>I'm still waiting for Lupin and Digimon
>casual discussing the 5 shows they are watching this season
>having a backlog
Oh my sides. Gotta love your 20 complete, 200 backlog. Refined anime taste, am I right?
And where did you found this? Inside your ass? MALfags are exactly like you, watching the seasonal SAO, SnK and a few other random shit.
People that actually care about anime as a whole actually bother to watch things.
Oh, Jesus Christ. This is what does right now, enables little casual normalfags like you shutting themselves in a few generals and never leaving them, because they get triggered by watching other things.
And this is why we have no /a/ anymore, just General X.
I don't watch shit only because it's anime.
I "consume" stories that look promising, regardless of the medium, be it a book, an anime, a movie, a manga.
They often happen to be anime, but that's it.
Oh fuck off your complete retard, I've been here years. There's just no point in forcing yourself through every QUALITY shitshow and trainwreck each season, when you have a backlog instead.
>Kazuya Nakai as yet another tough guy with questionable fashion sense who likes fighting and says "AAAAHHNN?!" a lot
They give him this role in practically every damn show he's on.
And I love it.
That you don't belong here and you are the cancer killing this place, you college kiddie.
Also know as being a casual scum justifying his lack of love about anime as a matter of taste and not just him being a shitty normie that thinks he has something more precious to do with his time. And this is why you will never acquire any real taste or understanding about anime, because you will never taste enough of it.
>I have been here here for years
>I have a BACKLOG
Backlog is for casual shitbags that still haven't seen almost anything, baby.
Everyone has a backlog. There's a good anime from 1978, have you seen it? If not, you should want to, that makes a backlog. But you willingly choose to watch seasonal bullshit of which 80% you know from experience will turn to shit by the last episode if it wasn't already.
Eh It was dying out anyway, well see what happens tommorow. I just don't understand the point in arguing about all this nonsense, but I guess some people find fun in this, or some kind of release.
At least I hope the others are getting something out of arguing
>People that actually deserve to be here have finished way too much anime to have a backlog.
Yes, because you've clearly watched all of the last 50 years of anime whilst following all 40 shows a season.
>I have nothing to say. T-Troll.
I am sorry to tell you this normalfag, but you came shitting up in a place where post people weren't like you back in the days, because they actually cared. Not that you care, or should care, as casuals like you are the kings of this site now.
>I can't handle an hour and a half per day of new things
>IT IS SO HARD
>I have to go to college and then there is my girlfriend too!
I bet you barely watch 1 or 2 series per month from that grand backlog of yours. I am sorry to be the one told you this, but yes, having seen so little anime you have a massive backlog of random names you got from the internet makes you unqualified to be here by old standards.
Not sure why either, I guess it just didnt warrent enough effort due to it's lack of popularity. though I reccomend looking later on, as if this show ends up being more popular there's a good chance people wanting to read/scan the manga will also show up.
I think you're giving your past too much credit, it was a shitty place back then and is still is a shitty place. I don't even know why you're bothering with talking about qualifications here either.
your visiting a website that's been free for everyone to use and visit. There was never any qualifications to be here or anywhere else on 4chan for that matter. This place never had any standards to begin with.
Upon probably way too much consideration of this I believe they were probably going for "dick smack", which is a regional insult in the U.S. Result was much better and funnier, though.
What are you even talking about ?
Nothing do with it.
It's a beautiful new age, anon.
The direction of this show is fucking good, somehow it manage to turn a mediocre shounen shit into a
>dat bump of chicken OP
>dat fucking ED
>dat anime original character
>mediocre shounen shit
it's really not that, I just don't see it, considering the direction the manga is taking. It's much more about discovering the city, having small fun adventures and focusing on world building and character interactions more than anything. I was amazed when I saw it's being published in a shounen magazine after I've read the first 4 volumes.
>no idea what this show was, literally just watched something out of random choice
>that fun, upbeat atmosphere
>that character interaction
>mfw I find out it's from my nigga Nightow
The best two words I can think of for this anime is 'fun' and 'energetic'. Man, I'm looking forward for the rest of the season.
Hope the sales are good because an S2 would be great, Given the setting its in the stories are endless.
ED is best of the season by a MILE.
Okay I admitted
I haven't read the manga, I just want to use the buzzword.
>fun adventures, world building and character interactions
I really like the the characters, the characters interactions are fun and feel so lively.
Guess I may read the manga after the show ends.
even the anime doesn't actively seek to follow typical shounen shit cliches and pay attention to shit here. I'd definitely take a main character who doesn't rely on his physical power over one who actively develops a stronger powerlevel. Same way I'll definitely take bro-relationships between the cast instead of old mentor guy-big tits tsundere-hugely built dumb bro-edgy mcedgy guy who pretends not to be a friend but in reality likes everyone typical cast.
Besides, nobody seems to be driven by revenge and fights are not personal at all (no shit talking during fights, no flashback remembering etc).
If Kekkai combines "mediocre shounenshit" elements, then god knows what is everyone's opinion about ACTUAL mediocre shounenshit. I hardly notice any cringeworthy cliches here, even in the anime.
next 2 episodes are going to be more serious in nature and after that it's going to be fun adventures. Like, in one of the stories Leo, Zed and Zapp are trying to find normal food all over the city and they can't. The story is just about them going through trouble trying to find food and ends in them being randomly involved in a mission Klauss was conducting.
Some other story is about Leo discovering a small weird-looking "monster" who's being bullied by some and hanging out with him the whole day, sharing some burgers.
>Hey the ghost girl in the end is a qt
>Decided to look up the manga
>Only to find out she is an anime original character
>Which means she will never be relevant to the main plot
some story is about Zapp getting cursed by a bitch and having to look for a cat to fix that, while Chain is at a bar overdrinking a dude who took a bet with her (she'd let him do anything with her if he beats her at drinking) and Leo is having his own small adventure looking for some faggot who bullied him and stole his wallet.
some story involves the butler. There's a lot of these stories where you get to know little by little stuff about all the characters and the city itself.
>finally caught up with my seasonal backlog
>decided to give Kekkai Sensen a shot
I am usually not too keen on first episodes, but that one left a pretty damn good impression.
>There's a lot of these stories where you get to know little by little stuff about all the characters and the city itself.
I love these types of stories!
Director did Chappie and hes gonna make the next Alien movie so its a no-go so far
>You will never see aliens massacre and devastate humankind in a brutal way
KIll me now
which is why I hope the anime doesn't end in something important, but ends rather in an original adventure which shouldn't affect the series overall.
If the episodes will follow the original manga, I think the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th are going to be /a/'s favorites. Especially 4.
I'm hoping for a soft ending. Like, concluded Femt's arc so that the show can be considered "complete" but still totally open for a second season given all the material that could be adapted.
>mfw all I was hoping for was that it wasn't gonna be shit and it turned out great
>ANIME OF THE SEASON! SIMPLY THE GREATEST!
The moral of the story is never talk about currently airing anime on /a/.
Surprised /a hasn't obsessed over this part of the ending yet
White seems really cute. She's anime-only, right?
I can't imagine what purpose she's going to serve, unless it's one of those things where she was bound to show up in the manga anyway, it's just that they gave her more of a role.
Either way. I'm a sucker for Rie.
As someone who is incredibly cynical about current anime trends I'm actually inclined to agree...so far. It's definitely the most hopeful I've been about new shows and the most fun I've heard early on since probably last Spring
Punchline just looks like the usual pandering schlock original with above average animation we get every season from Aniplex now. I'm so glad they have nothing to do with this show as they'd almost certainly find a way to ruin it with dumb omni-pandering and stacking it with their shitty favorites.
Imagine this show with a Sawano OST with him handling the opening theme song while Garnidelia does the ending and directed by Ei Aoki with scripts by some washed up visual novel author or something. You could probably count on them throwing Sora Amamiya in there as the lead heroine just because and the M.C would have probably been Yuki Kaji instead.
>Chain slipping and Klaus helping her instantly
Just noticed it
It is cute as fuck
I feel kind of dumb for not realizing this series is from the creator of Trigun/Gungrave until I looked up the manga, it has his design all over it.
>all the women are really short or six feet tall
>brown guy with white hair and white clothes
>cute boy character
Not bad actually. They got the reaction to Femt right. Even in demon NYC most people would ignore his crazy rant and go on with their day.
Only thing I can complain about is that they're really pushing the old NYC aesthetic even though there's an asston of glass and steel buildings these days. I'm nitpicking though.
The OP worked in a great skyline, they got freedom tower in it.
>Gen Urobuchi (seems to be pretty well-read, including a lot of western literature)
This show is padded like a menstruating firehose.
The re-used animation, long pans, pauses and talking heads bloat the runtime to an extent I've never seen before.
And this is only the second episode.
Doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence.
In what situation is watching either overily feminine anime or very manly anime not homosex.
