uh, as a filthy secondary it seems pretty status quo shounen, something I could easily see being broadcast on Toonami several months from now.
watchable yes, can't say more else though
This all the way, this is going to be a fun ride.
There's a fedora thing in this ED somewhere
Just finished episode 2.
Clearly AOTS. Like, by an unbelievable margin.
The nature of the setting makes it really easy to add in characters and stories, since it's mostly episodic. Plus, BONES has been surprisingly open this time about how they've added in some anime original characters. That seems to alleviate some fears that they told us about her instead of dropping her in half way through the show.
Noragami's end was pretty good. It was a filler arc with no bearing on the main storyline though, so they can easily transition to S2.
It's hard to be hyped about this. I'm glad if it gets a second season, it will be easy to follow according to an anon of the previous thread
Man, I love the thought and effort put into the ending
That withering roses motif
You can do so much with it, can't wait for the soundtrack to be out
Oh boy, is this show going to be about how great it is to be white?
Why haven't you accepted her as best girl yet, /a/?
>it's a Bones production
>the manga isn't finished
I wonder if the triangle meant dinner time for them since afterwards we see this.
And today's episode we saw some demon transporting possible humans somewhere. The name being Blood Blockade Battlefront and the Blood staining white roses (blood obviously being important theme wise and plot/mechanic wise), and then seeing this, it's all being handled well.
I'm guessing the big bad is a demon underworldly manufacturer that sees use in human blood and plans to use it or distribute it to demons?
The manga doesn't have a main villain, in fact the only antagonist that I can remember showing up again after their story was Femt for a non-villainous role in one chapter of volume 8.
He's not referring to the Shaft shows, and I have to agree that even though I like this a lot, Ore Monogatari is also really good.
The Opening is so fuckin good.
Man this and the Ending are just brilliant.
Why is Zapp so perfect? Why have you not thanked him yet?
While Ore Monogatari is good it ain't better than BBB. Plus animation wise BBB beats it by a large margin.
Kekkai Sensen and Kill la Kill have a lot of similar vibes in the style, wackiness, and no fucks given nature, but I enjoy this far better. In fact I struggled through watching first season of KlK.
I can't figure out why though. Anyone else feel the same?
Heh heh fuck off faggot. Go watch your edgy shit.
The ellipse brow triplets
you mean Yomi as in my waifu?
Considering that Femt and the villain from the Doug Hammer arc are featured pretty prominently in the ending, I wouldn't be surprised if they fiddled around with the story a bit and had them stick around in some capacity, they already have anime original stuff. And it looks like one of the brothers of the ghost girl is the main villain, going off of the first episode.
It's generic as almighty hell but I'm really digging it so far, music and all. Lots of really cool shots this episode too.
It's representative of their personalities if they were to try dancing on a stage and throwing a party. OP shows them in more common situations, but I'd say they're both accurate.
They were GPS tracking Chain. Also she has more freedom to move around since she's jumping on top of buildings and light poles. They still need to stick to roads. They'd be fucked if there's a building obscuring their view from the ground. Chain was vital to this mission.
Im not usally one for ED sequences but I don't think Im ever gonna be able to skip this
Why are they all so perfect
>Chain crying over the phone
The drawfags need to hurry up and do their sacred duty.
Am I the only one who just feels so darn happy when watching the Ending. I don't know why but it makes me feels so good inside. Just watching everyone have fun and dancing like dorks is just so good. I mean I would take that over anything that tries to be edgy or badass.
The ED is 100% in character, which is one of the reasons why it's so great. It actively adds to the characterization.
Libra's a bunch of dorks in manga as well.
so they're gonna get shipped to hell and back aren't they
Why does Zap dance like a dork in the Ending?
It's so fuckin hilarious.
> for Ryo
But anyway, back to the thread.
we sec 9 now
They most likely did it on purpose to emphasize the tone in a better fashion. I mean who doesn't like seeing characters dance like dorks with Quality.
>Zappy Dan the Magnet Man
Every single time
God dam I need a download of that ending song, so nice.
catch me if you can, sombody posted some samples before
Here, have short versions of 5 OST tracks
Theme of Blood Blockade Battlefront
Catch Me If You Can
>I legitimately can't believe there was a manga by Nightow and fucking nobody was talking about it or translating it.
here's the thing, Nightow's a great ideas man but as far as actual manga go, well he's not exactly the best. Trigun is a sloppy mess with no sense of panel flow
Here. There's information about her abilities. Werewolf in this series =/= turning into a beast.
these cars look quite realistic
>Their heads are edited on to the bodies.
What I'm saying is a lot of things in the anime/manga have been done to death, when I'm watching it I'm seeing a lot of things from most every anime that features a "normal in comparison MC" from the types of people who he has to interact with to the order that he "befriends" them in. And so far it doesn't seem to be doing anything new with those kinds of interactions.
I'm not hating on it, I don't expect everything to be something completely new all the time.
In that sense, nothing's new. The template is familiar, but it's the way that it all comes together which makes it unique. The execution of the concept is really what's making this look to be a stellar adaption.
I know it's autistic, but little details like an actual license plate make me happy
Doujins when ?
I thought the same thing about Tager
oh, and here I am ready to ship her with the zapper
I basically thought the same thing, even my other freind watching this show agreed. He's the beast, redhead human edition.
>In that sense, nothing's new.
Not at all, interactions can be handled in many unique ways.
My main example so far would be how Zapp seems to be interacting with everyone especially the MC. He's a dick with a heart of gold but everyone seems to be interacting with him in the generic cookie cutter way "Oh, Zapp, you dummy." and it doesn't seem to go beyond that. I don't mind that that's how they react to him but it isn't executed in a way that is particularly impressive, it may be the voice actors fault or the writing but that's just how I feel about it and why it comes off as generic. It's like they went "Hey guys, Zapp just did this. What's the stock lines everyone uses in response to this?"
Ah, that clears it up, thanks.
I have a problem where I automatically pair the main character with the first main character of the opposite gender. Needless to say, it's not going to turn out well with this one.
>Didn't know about the mib saturday morning cartoon.
Yes it was good. So was the godzilla cartoon (by the same staff i believe?). I'm hoping that the pacific rim cartoon is going to be similar.
>So was the godzilla cartoon (by the same staff i believe?)
They also did Big Guy & Rusty and Extreme Ghostbusters. Both of which really need a DVD release. I mean you wouldn't think Extreme anything would be good but you'd be wrong, show had fucking cenobites man
There's going to be a PR cartoon?
Not sure how involved he is, but Del Toro is a known weeb; I'd expect him to pitch that shit toward a Japanese studio, or at least outsource some animation.
Zapp says shit like her tits being the only good thing about her right to her face and similar sexual harassment stuff, so no.
They're bickering antagonistic colleagues who are borderline friends.
> Implying I wouldnt
same goes for Nerd Ogre and werewolf chick
A cartoon series was announced at the same time as the sequel and set to air before it. No further info past that.
An anime OVA series was also confirmed and Max factory is making a line of high detail Jaeger models.
Best girl finally here.
>can we agree?
Id argue that it's on par with the good episodes of Real but head and shoulders above the bad.
Real Ghostbusters ran for a really long time. EGB only got about 40 episodes and managed to keep a pretty consistent quality throughout. RGB ran for much much longer 173 episodes but honestly only the first few seasons where any good.
The slimer shit was abysmal
Still plenty of kids anime getting made, /a/ just tends to only discuss the ones that started pandering to multiple age groups. Youkai watch is currently huge in japan right now but /a/ never talks about it other than mentioning its popular.
GF is okay
Thats the point hes making. Cartoons aren't written for kids anymore. That and the past couple seasons of AT have been terrible and kind of highlighted what awful people Finn and Jake are.
speaking of old cartoons, anyone else enjoyed this one?
I think the guys behind this also did that cartoon about the robot that didn't want to keep being a killer machine.
>/co/ please. This is a Kekkai Sensen thread.
I can't help but feel like this is one of those shows that's going to be received a lot warmer in the US than it is in Japan
>kekkai sensen is at least half characters making funny faces as well
You misunderstand. Wild takes are fine. Looney Toons and Tex Avery thrived on them
the problem is that every show does the same =O face. also noodle arms. and main characters who only exist to annoy those around them.
Basically everyone's trying to be Spongebob
>No qt ghost to dance with
Why did the monkey react when she said she is a ghost if only Leonardo can see her?
Waiting more fan art of her.
>MC with "schemeing closed eyes"
>Zapp is a total bro
>red head dude isn't a asshole like I thought he would be, he is actually the nicest
>I thought I wouldn't like the dog girl because her "abuse zapp" gag but they actually have a strong bond as shown in ep 2
If not AOTS it has best Characters this season
I'd say most episodes of RGB are good. But that's mainly because the first two seasons actually make up the majority of episodes. Seriously, the first season and the syndicated second season together add up to 78 episodes total.
From then on it's kinda awful, but there are gems like Flip-Side, Janine You've Changed, and The Grundel (which is good to watch since EGB has a sequel to it.)
pic related. Stephen was on the other line.
she's a lot cuter in terms of personality than I was expecting
Also dat filthy apartment shame
So does that bartender chick show up at times. The one who's voiced by Miyuki.
Am I the only who feels that the Quality in the Ending actually helps elevate it. It just gives off that goofy vibe.
I got to say I love how they actually foreshadowed his blood trail ability and since we knew he could ignite it from ep 1 this all came together just perfect
It's probably going to pick up a healthy amount of praise and a small-but-dedicated following in Japan that will lead to middling sales but then once it airs on Toonami it's going to be big over here.
Depends on how big it is and the relationship between BONES and [as].
And it's pretty good, given Space Dandy and everything, though that project had a lot of staff [as]/funi are used to working with.
Chain could learn something about the other guy that makes her rethink her interest and realized Zapp's more what she needs. And has a twin sister who's totally open to the idea of sharing pizza
>more what she needs
She needs him bleeding more.
Basically the only reason he can remain in Libra is because that he's skilled and that Klaus is a softie.
Zapp stages his own hostage situation. Klaus was the only one who was concerned for his safety.
