Some sword wielding demon got split in 2. One half got summoned from the portal that was embedded in the bank robber. The other half gets summoned for s split second at periodic intervals from the gate on the flea/monkey. The first half seeks its second half so it can recombine. If that happens, he'll wreck even more shit.

I read the manga beforehand so I thought the game was clear with what instructions were given but on rewatch, it seems the choice of words were kind of awkward and lacking in visual aids. It's there but they're expecting the audience to be paying close attention.

Remember Inari's walk? I thought it was for budget reasons, but maybe Matsumoto just likes Ishida Akira's voice obnoxiously monologuing while little happens on screen.

The fact that the rules where being explained while little was happening on the screen should actually make it easier to understand them, as you're pretty much forced to focus on what's being said. Maybe enough time wasn't given to explaining the rules, but I personally thought it was fine.
