As video sales go, both the retailer and the distribution chain pocket 40 to 60 percent of the sales price. Then the production committee divides up the amount percentage-wise. Production I.G. is most likely the same as other studios and doesn't pocket the entire remaining portion of video sales. Most studios negotiate for a percentage share of profits from the production committee which means the remaining portion of the video sales money then goes to the production comittee. The committee then portions out the money to each member according to what they negotiated.

Don't know about Japanese company income tax law, but around here, corporations pay taxes on a quarterly basis while individuals pay income taxes on an annual basis. A business can defer a year while prepaying an estimated amount. If so and if japan is the same as here, then perhaps production I.G. deferred the prior year into 2015. If so, then to maximize the deduction, the current quarter should have both the biggest writedown losses and expenses shifted into it to reduce the deferred taxes. I.G. could have done that too.

How do you know? Either way, a lot of people do watch those streams, wherever the views are coming from, even for many titles which have an official English release. So yes, that means less money for production IG. I have stream episodes with over 1 million views before. Into the tens of thousands even for obscure titles. Wow.
