Are you prepared to see Illya dance around happily in the opening every episode?
No, but I'm prepared to see Sakura wallow in despair. I mean, Shirou's already confessed to having feelings.
I know, but I still feel a little bad for her. And I actually was surprised that Shirou already blurted out that he has a crush on her. I thought they'd play it more like the VN where neither of them can spit it out, until they get to the scene with Lancer.
Also, at this point I really doubt we'll get Good End. But they might play with it and change things up.
Combine them how? The only change is instead of Rin and Shriou leaving Fuyuki it's Rin and Shirou leave Fuyuki with their pet servant. Sakura dies off screen to worm abuse either way. IIya dies no matter what as well. Isn't that the point of the game? One of the heroines is screwed over no matter what?
Are you ready for Ufotable to fuck up Archer vs Shirou?
Yeah, this is why they eliminated any hint Saber has heroine like scenes with Shirou. Any admiration came from her side while she was obviously not interested. It makes more sense because she's older than Taiga.
>Nasu said Seiba was their guardian and mother in UBW.
Nasu says a lot of things, and we know Shirou nor Rin ever listen to anything Saber sayss. She's their fucking pet Even more in HA where she dicks around playing with kids, eating and sleeping while Lancer, Rider and Caster actually try to make something of themselves in the world.
Rin and Shirou are rebellious kids, but she's still their guardian.
HA makes everyone out of character in the 'eclipse' daydream Avenger has. Specially Saber who was diligent and worked harder than anyone as a king.
He quite explicitly confessed in that scene in the VN too. But he was also saying all the lines that Archer told Rin at the park bench in the beginning of the episode.
For some reason they gave Archer half of Shirou's scenes and divided the lines between the beginning and the ending of the episode.
Which I guess might have been good for pacing purposes, I don't know. But it was different.
Are you seriously bringing up FHA as something actually in character? Fate/Zero cafe comic strip is more in character than FHA and the superior SOL with Servants and Masters. They are recognizable.
>some shitty specially tailored music instead of Emiya
Shirou, Retarded dense and dumber than he used to be
Rin, goes from nice to violent gorilla in less than 3 seconds
Sakura, jealous incarnate, actually scares and intimidates peoples, actually in a position of telling people what to do.
Rider, sex slut and book nerd. Total bully bait now.
IIya, drops all her adult personality traits for Kawaii imotou shit.
They fucked up big time.
>no flashbacks to Archer's past with the UBW chant
>no This Illusion Piano
>no monologues of Shirou fighting back at his future
>character development means they are out of character
The only two valid complaints are Shirou and Rin's generic tsundere shit. Sakura and Rider are different because their situation is vastly different than before. Your complaint about Illya makes no fucking sense since she acts mature multiple times, and most of the time when she is acting cute it's exactly like Fate route when she stayed at Shirou's place.
>Sakura, jealous incarnate, actually scares and intimidates peoples
But that is what she is.
Except that Saber truly does act like a NEET, in every peaceful setting. And we learn in her backstory as king pretty much every else did the legislative stuff whike she did the fighting. Kay was in charge of finances for campaigns, for example. She isn't alone though, all the other kings are NEETs too.
And if Saber is the mother, what does that make Sakura, who ends up putting the house on a strict diet and teaching that "mother" how to cook and bake? I would say Nasu meant her to be a "guide" in the same way parents are.
Sometimes. You get just as many examples of her being comforting and understanding. The thing about flanderizing characters is not that they don't have those traits, but one trait gets hilariously exaggerated to stupidity, making the character one dimensional.
Shirou does act kind of insensitive and gruff at times, and Rin does get really standoffs and overbearing because she is a competitive person, sometimes she takes it a bit far and is sort of a bully.
You are right that Sakura and Rider's circumstances changed, but Sakura had her smart-ass moments in FSN, and Rider did have a slightly more submissive side if embarrassed enough.
You just have look past skin deep misconceptions and there are multiple parts to them.
>Just pray that they don't go full retard and do the Good ending with pet Saber, That shit was full on stupid.
Nasu's pretty much killed UBW Good possibility already since he requested ufo "to not animate Saber's inner world." Kind of depressing that she won't have her conclusion though.
Oh goody. Now instead of a spoiled brat who is also a rapist with an inferiority complex, she gets to have a spoiled brat who whines about getting restaurant quality food, spills soy sauce on his little sister's new dresses on purpose, and whines about his allowance being reduced below "unlimited".
That rank E luck must have been a lie then.
Rin and Sakura are not that bad in hollow. They has a couple moments each, but it's hardly like it's every scene.
I honestly didn't notice anything different about Shirou other than the times Avenger took over a bit.
The Servants acting differently in peacetime is not surprising or unexpected. Rather than "completely new", it's just that they can let their hair down and relax.
>Rin and Sakura are not that bad in hollow.
The drunk scene
The Tohosoka stand off scene.
It's almost like they've known each other for years compared to how they normally act. The game even says each day is a battle in that house because in that timeline Shirou didn't pick a girl.
>people think EMIYA won't be played during the Archer/Shirou fight even though parts of it's remix have already been heard in the OST already
>people are acting like it will be a totally silent fight
Jesus Christ guys have a little bit of hope. Don't you want to be upset about it on the Internet later and not just disappointed you were right?
I prefer Illya from Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya if only for the fact that we know she is a delightful bundle of fetishes pretending to be a normal elementary school girl. Fate/Stay Night Illya is just a psycho.
How about this?
>And we learn in her backstory as king pretty much every else did the legislative stuff whike she did the fighting. Kay was in charge of finances for campaigns, for example.
That is actually pretty normal historically speaking. Feudal monarchs did not have huge amounts of power beyond the battlefield and law was largely a matter for the whole court. Absolute monarchs with the whole divine right of kings crap didn't hit Europe until much later.
God damn you Sakurafags are hard to please.
>delightful bundle of fetishes pretending to be a normal elementary school girl.
Oh yes indeed.
Comparitively, they do, one has been stalking, and the other has been watching the stalker. For years.
Also, siblings. If they started making out, then it would be something unrealistic. The drunk scene is just that, them being drunk. The standoff scene was an admitted joke they wanted to play on everybody, they were fucking around.
Having read KT before HA I already knew that the characterisation would be all over the place.
Take the good scenes and ignore the bad ones just like the fanservice it's meant to be.
Rin's Eclipse is the best Nasuverse H-scene
>Rin's Eclipse is the best Nasuverse H-scene
That's not Flowers of Thanatos.
Mollusks > Jars of Menthol.
I enjoyed both KT and HA, didn't notice much of a difference in characterization since the mood was much lighter.
Blame the Tohsaka accounting classes she and Rin got before kindergarten, they both knew what compound interest was before most kids stop believing in Santa.
Rin became a loan shark, Sakura balances her households budget.
Why are the Tohsaka family such jews? Even Gil had to escape from Tokiomi because he was jewing all the wine.
That's freaky, like, if they hadn't be seperated at kids they would of been known as the sisters who terrorize Fuyuki High with their weird pranks and sneaky ways of getting people indebted to them.
Please reconsider for what they would be known
Zouken is a magical landlord. He has assets all over Japan. He also saves money because he is a specter who gets nourishment from souls.
Shinji spends it all on taking chick's to expensive Italian restaurants. Nasu pretty much says his groupies are really goldingging and will forget him by the time he gets to college.
Sakura just uses what she gets to split the food bill with Shirou.
I mean, the circumstances are all different, so everyone's more relaxed. For example, Kohaku, once she's out of her doll mindset, would be much more fun and prank-loving. It makes sense to me.
Guess Nasu was right in Sakura's bio:
>As everybody knows, she seems passive, but when she does do something she devotes herself to it completely. She's the girl in the story most suited to using seduction to get what she wants.
>A devilish woman with a strong maternal instinct, she'll pamper a man to the bitter end and ruin him with her charms.
Not even the best bullies in F/sn
>mfw Zero secondaries complain saying that the characters in stay night talk too much when Zero's last episode was all talk and had two fucking flashback episodes
Well fuck everything then. the adaption has been passable so far but if they are going to fuck the best part then it's all for nothing. I'll watch this, get disapointed and reread the VN.
Another anon but here is the relevant Interview.
Keep in mind that the translation quality Aniplex standard
This interview just makes me trust ufotable and Nasu even less.
Wow they pulled the "I can totally demolish you right now but I'm not going to because reasons" card again
episode was actual garbage. screw this shit i wanna see servants doing servant things I don't wanna see cringe inducing tsundere shit
Followed by five pages of fellating SoL and declaring Shingeki no Kyoujin the best action anime of the decade. NeoGAF is fucking adorable.
Nasu and Ufotable are just OTP.
Did a great job with KnK, they're doing great job with F/SN.
I guess you're right. Mushrooms are untrustworthy!
While I agree with you, a director and staff working on a show has to have enough skill to properly convey information visually for that to work, and in the case of F/SN, an adaptation of what is basically a written medium, there is so much that needs to be included in that scene that there is almost no way to properly execute it without the use of monologue.
Why are you trusting Nasu in the first place?
B-because I trusted ufotable at least
I have had this conversation many times already. I still don't agree with that statement at all. There are things you simply can't show. They need to be told. Even if the medium your story was written in was more visual, you should still tell things if it is necessary.
That "fundamental rule" can go to hell for all I care.
I'm glad to hear they aren't attempting a dry copy-paste job from the VN. He's right about the impact of events in first person text versus third person visual having different criteria, and six years of discussing the source material leaves me eager for some fresh reinterpretations.
>Archer cockblocking Rin
>all that tsundere
I don't remember being that pissed at Archer or as moved by Rin's admittedly mild breakdown when I read the VN. The directing and voice acting are fantastic,
and now I'm more convinced that we're going to see plenty of Lancer teasing Rin to make up for DEEN's failure.Based Ufotable.
I liked Old Nasu better. I'm not sure what New Nasu is doing with this.
>Archer cockblocking Rin
Even the comedy anthology manga does it
I'm glad to have a fresh interpretation too, but Miura thinking Shirou is just "stubborn" seems to me that he doesn't understand his character entirely, and Nasu speaking of attaching "new anime graft" on the skeleton of UBW seems like he's going more for flashy scenes rather than the meat of UBW.
In addition, I don't know why the question of Miura having read F/SN and F/HA was necessary, since that's something that should be naturally expected
Black screen with the word "Projection" in the middle
Six frames of Shirou flying backwards
Red screen with "Holy Grail War" in black while Archer talks for fifteen seconds
>I don't remember being that pissed at Archer
Yeah they captured how much of an asshole he is.
I think the difference is that he betrayed Rin before the fight started in the VN.
>since that's something that should be naturally expected
For example Rider's VA never read the VN.
>Nasu speaking of attaching "new anime graft" on the skeleton of UBW seems like he's going more for flashy scenes rather than the meat of UBW.
The "meat" of UBW would be the "skelleton" though.
I mean do you have a problem with how the betrayal and Graveyard scene played out?
>is quite rare for a director to read the original work.
Wait, really? I didn't know that
>The "meat" of UBW would be the "skelleton" though.
I meant more of the concept and ideology. Even though Nasu wants to play it subtle, I'm afraid ufotable will take it too far, and people will lose track of the concepts entirely.
Then it won't be rape.
How exactly do you bully an inanimate object? There's no point in calling it names, and in this particular item hitting it would just make it harder. I don't understand.
Who would get raped first, the Tohsaka sisters or Shiki?
I always thought the best VA was Shirou's.
