Think there will be a season 2 of the anime?
It also looks like Threader was protecting petrified Merlin. Maybe this is like a vision Merlin has of what happens if they fight him here, Gowther's still in doll-mode so can he do anything? Unless Merlin releases him.
Source for spoilers and OP image?
What is this Lust mode, I must see.
Ya know, regardless of whether or not an asspull happens after this, this was a very realistic scenario that many of us were thinking would happen. But for Nakaba to actually do it? Props to him.
It's about time Gowther gets shown in the limelight fighting off a strong threat by himself.
I mean, Gowther's Invasion does deal with the spirit. And since Galan's spirit level hasn't been shown, there's the way to evade battle with him.
Gowther saving the day would actually make sense.
You´d only have to explain how he got out of his puppet-state (which isn´t hard with Merlin around) and how he was able to hit Galan with one of his arrows. (Which could work because Galan didn´t know of him, thus giving Gowther a big surprise-factor)
>how he was able to hit Galan with one of his arrows
It's not as if Galan can dodge all attacks. He got hit by Meliodas' initial attack, after all. He noticed Merlin's teleportation spell since it's purely magic, but Invasion is channeled through Herritt's arrows. While Herritt is probably magically formed, it's magic usage is probably at the same level as Lost Vayne's clone creation, which Galan didn't notice.
It would be an asspull for him to actually hit Galan with an arrow. He was so slow that Hendricksen could decapitate him before he could land the arrow, and Galan has both very high awareness (like how he spotted the real Mel and dodged Merlin's spell) and is ridiculously fast. The only time Gowther was able to use the arrow was by getting himself impaled upon Dreyfus sword.
Hendricksen aimed for Gowther since he's one of the Sins and prioritized him as a threat to take down because of his power that targets the spirit. Dreyfus knew that too and considered him a high threat among the Sins.
Yeah, he was hit by the arrow when he was about to kill Guila. It made him mess up with his aim.
>The only time Gowther was able to use the arrow was by getting himself impaled upon Dreyfus sword.
Dreyfus knew what Gowther was up to, that´s why Dreyfus was able to get a hit in on Gowther.
But Galan is totally unaware of his presence in this battle, making Gowther the best man to deal with this dire situation
Oh snap, the symbol at the center of this spread is on Galan's chest. Symbol of the Demon Clan?
Also, tentacleloli is wearing NOTHING. Or at least, isn't wearing anything over her body.
These realizations I'm having are blowing my mind.
That's not necessarily the mark of Demon Clan, but the mark of his specific caste. Hendricksen and Fraudrin had marks too, but it's different for each of them. Hendricksen's mark was a mere slash while Fraudrin's was kinda scythe-y looking.
Meliodas' demon mark looked similar to Zeldris and Estarossa (whose marks are on the opposite side)..
From the spoilers, Merlin seemed to be trying to negotiate with Galan when, after lying to him, she got turned into stone. So let's just see if the chapter leaves any time for her to do any background action like reactivating Gowther during this scene.
That or Gowther naturally regained enough power to reawaken and act again. Merlin did say the return to his original form was only temporary.
It'd be quite convenient timing though.
Also a really short while, it's like it's not even worth it to use AC on him.
I'm thinking Merlin might've used Absolute Cancel on him at the same time she cast it on Diane last chapter.
Well i mean, even if Gowther is in his original form, Merlin's magic couldn't even reach him and her magic is radius of a few miles. but given how Gowther does reactivate its very likely this is his illusion
Merlin did use magic cancel on something
It didn't reach him. Merlin's magic was an area of effect spell that specifically only targeted the unfriendly. By the way Galan reacted, we can tell that he was able to sense the magic being used.
Galan was hit by Meliodas' initial surprise attack when the former had just finished annihilating a part of Camelot and was returning his attention to the people in front of him. So Galan can be hit by surprise. He didn't notice the clones being made, although that didn't really matter much since he can react quickly. Anyway, surprise attacks can hit him and maybe magic usage under a certain level.
Magic Cancel shouldn't work on helping Gowther return to normal since she used Absolute Cancel on the magic that animates Gowther. What he needs is something that makes the magic cast on his doll body recover faster, right?
>It didn't reach him. Merlin's magic was an area of effect spell that specifically only targeted the unfriendly. By the way Galan reacted, we can tell that he was able to sense the magic being used.
To clarify, what I meant was that rather than "reaching" him, it was more like it didn't activate fast enough before he could react and move out of its way.
>What he needs is something that makes the magic cast on his doll body recover faster, right?
Merlin does have "Power Amplify" in her repertoire.
Maybe that spell helps Gowther recover
I don't know, Nakaba draws his shotas in a particular manner. Take Orlondi and Simon, for example.
Octololi's got a certain amount of softness to her features.
Oh, berserk mode Meliodas again. Although I wonder if this is before or after he gets stabbed through the brain.
Ah, there we go. Probably before, after all.
Seems like Galan will be the one to create that huge black hole in Bartra's prophecy after all.
Not necessarily. Galan just has to kill people AFTER demon mode Meliodas has failed.
Either the demon form happens before the arrow or it's something else, the thing is Mel's demonic is not something all the Sins 100% know about. I suppose Merlin knows about it but other than that everyone else keeps a very 'eh whatever' or 'it's not something to think about' attitude about it.
Gowther uses Galans memories and expectations to create an ideal conclusion in his mind.
He doesn´t have to know that Meliodas can go demon mode beforehand, because he knows everything that is needed to know to mindfuck someone once he hits them with an arrow
That´s because she only found herself in unfortunate situations up till now anon.
Either way, I think Diane needs to grow stronger to be of use against the demons. Giant clan training-arc when?
Meliodas is so fucking weak, his brothers are probably 50000 times stronger than him and don't forget that one of the weakest demon lords is literally shitting on them solo with no magic at all while Meliodas is pumped with magic and strength.
B T F O
Sexy, sexy Gowther.
Or did he?
Maybe everyone is actually dead and now we watch the hilarious, albeit rapey antics of Gowther.
Then he proceeds to kill the Commandments.
I, for one, welcome our new overlord Gowther.
They're probably already powerful enough we just haven't seen it yet.
I mean all sorts of shit has happened to Ban but everything has healed except for whatever Meliodas did to his face. We haven't seen Meliodas pull anything like that yet.
mfw ive never been this hype since frieza vs goku
The Sins would be safe, but what about the people of Camelot?
Galan seems like a great enforcer to insure loyalty amongst their vassals.
No spell to break. Absolute Cancel isn't a charm or anything. It just cancels the spell.
Seems like Meliodas' controlled release of his demon mark only raises him this high.
Probably after Merlin got turned to stone, but before everyone starts getting killed.
>Get fucked by tentacles
So, even stronger than King's ultimate.
Ah, just remembered that stoning is the traditional method to punish adultery.
Well, maybe Gowther's Invasion can show an illusion of what "would" happen, based on the knowledge and memories of people? That would be an even stronger skill than what I imagined.
>Well, maybe Gowther's Invasion can show an illusion of what "would" happen, based on the knowledge and memories of people? That would be an even stronger skill than what I imagined.
That´s exactly what Gowther can do, hence why he can fool practically anybody
Well an illusion was cast on Galan and we all heard Merlin speak and her own internal monologue so that scene did happen, which would mean she did turn to stone given Galan ability. She might of dispelled it but that part was the illusion.
Elizabeth and Arthur can see the carnage, so everyone has been affected by the illusion.
Because if it's after, it would mean Diane and the others who got killed wouldn't have "seen" themselves getting killed by Galan, but if it's before, they'll have "experienced" death since everyone was already in the illusion.
So Gowther has proved excpetionally useful.
is Diane the only one which hasn't done something meaningful? And i don't mean just one "impressive" fodder kill but actually something very useful
He's the "truth". No lying, or be stoned.
Maybe King can de-petrify Merlin? His weapon seems to be capable of reversing its own petrification, so why not petrification performed by others?
>Possible gaiden about Gowther next chapter
Seems like he's the most probable Sin to get one, considering how much of the spotlight he's been getting.
Wait, just realized the Gaiden might not come out next week. Oh well, still looking forward to it.
Who hype for the third Gaiden which was annonced? Will it be about gowther or mel, what do you think?
>Maybe King can de-petrify Merlin?
oh shot, forgot about that completly, so King and Ban are going to fix the mess
Is lie even part of the 10 commandments? I don't see it.
And holy shit i don't remember the do not covet your neighbours wife one. It takes a much more different tone now given being accustomed to ntr
>Dreyfus has a younger sister
I wonder if her hair is as fabulous as his and Griamor's.
What do you mean?
They believe he'll be the first to die. Probably to Escanor, considering what happened to Merlin this chapter.
Meliodas was all alone in that scene whereGalan killed him and pushed him. But, it turns out, he actually is close as fuck to Slader (as seen when Dalan goes away). Meaning, it was all an illusion.
>as shown in the last arc.
only pig did and likely he is plot relevant... somewhere
The idea that all is an illusion of Gowther is not impossible but it means he did it before Merlin used Perfect Cube, which means he did it at the moment Galan arrived, when even meliodas got a free hit on him before he started to fight good
It's great to see him so happy.
Zeldris seems to be "thou shalt not kill"
>Magic Cancel shouldn't work on helping Gowther return to normal since she used Absolute Cancel on the magic that animates Gowther. What he needs is something that makes the magic cast on his doll body recover faster, right?
she said the absolute cancel on Gowther animatio spell only could stop it for a while, not erase it
His body is an illusion, not a powered up form. Who's to say that he can't cast illusions while in a doll-state?
The armor suppresses his power. Possibly, the spell that powers him with life causes him to become more erratic over time. That's what people hypothesized back when he started brainwashing Guila and Zeal.
I'm almost tempted to believe he is being influenced by Galan. Galan was seen laughing on the last page and now he is too seems like an extreme version of the other possessed holy knight where this times hes actually getting feed back.
Yes? Why are you replying to me?
Magic Cancel cancels magic. Absolute Cancel can also magic, but probably to a greater degree since it's Absolute.
Other anon was saying that Magic Cancel will cancel Absolute Cancel, but that doesn't really change the fact that Absolute Cancel was used in the first place since it's not an on-going spell. It's like, say, using it to cancel Diane's ability after she shapes the ground. It won't do anything; the ground has already been transformed. If it needs Diane's magic to sustain the shape, it might crumple, but it won't change the fact that it's already been altered. As opposed to, say, a fire spell being used to burn up an object. The fire would continue as long as it has something to burn, so it's an on-going spell. Merlin probably used Absolute/Magic Cancel on the purgatory fire that was burning Arthur up during his fight against Hendricksen.
This HAS to be an illusion. The question is why is Meliodas so fucking weak compared to the other demons?
>problem is, Elizabeth and Arthur were already inside perfect cube.
>only bullshit explanation will be that Gowther Attack is not physical, so it can bypass Perfect Cube.
wasn't gowther with threader? he wasn't in the perfect cubes like arthur, elizabeth and hawk iirc
It's more likely that his current weak power is connected to the thing Merlin took from him. She refused to give it even when she heard about ten commandments though, and with her manipulative nature there's no chance in hell she will return it that easily.
Really want to see what this motherfucker could do to Galan if he went full demon.
Huh. Theory. Was Lost Vayne created by the same guy who made Gowther? Since Meliodas' clones and Gowther's body are illusions with a physical body, I just thought there might be a connection.
>only bullshit explanation will be that Gowther Attack is not physical, so it can bypass Perfect Cube.
Seems like the way to go.
Why would Gowther need to mindfuck everyone into believing that they are dead? How does that even work?
I think everything that happened in this chapter happened in Galans mind, and Gowther will cancel the illusion after Galan has left, thinking he killed everyone.
I mean you can hardly blame Merlin, they had no idea what they were getting themselves into and hardly had anytime to even devise any sort of meaningful plan, we'll they did get out alive in the end though.
I was pretty angry with Gowther for what he did to Guile but this is just too perfect
It keeps happening!
Time is cruel.
Probably doesn't work on him. Now, if his companions said so after he tells them, would they turn to stone? I'm guessing Galan's power only works when a person knows they're lying.
>This HAS to be an illusion. The question is why is Meliodas so fucking weak compared to the other demons?
Galan said it, time is not kind, the other might not have its magic but still have their physical strength, compared to em, Meliodas Body aged 3000 (IF, its his real body)
I was thinking this is Nightmare Terror at first, but if I remember it right, then there would be obscurities and oddities hidden or camouflaged somehow on pages.Don't think there are any, right?Unless I missed them.
perhaps everything we saw right after me used his black power on galan was part of gowther illusion and we saw the event from galan's perspective? It would make sense when gowther struck him when galan was busy with mel, the only thing is that I don't understand at which point gowher free'd himself
If only he had had time to use his sword in it's released state.
Anyone else realized the importance of the chapter title?
"Impossible to predict"
Chapter 59 was Gowther's "Introduction" chapter was literally called "Unpredictable man enters the stage".
So nobody cares that Threader lost an arm? Shit most probably happened before the illusion.
He is sealed. Merlin stole his precious thing. He is using a crappy (most likely) human made weapon. He doesn't want to rage full power and go insane killing everyone. Maybe even more reasons we don't know of yet to boot.
yeah he sucks dick, even the demon says it
This chapter was a way for the author to get more monies by trolling the readers.
Dumbass demon got trolled by Gowther.
I dont really know what anyone else thinks, but i personally think that estarossa and meliodas were once the same entity, but when sealing the rest of the demon clan, he forsaked most of his demonism which manifested into estarossa, thats why he can only use his demon power every once in a while and why the poster looks like estarossa, i mean considering how powerful a demon meliodas mustve been, he had to have been a member of the 10 commandments, i doubt anyone in there was an actual replacement, so it only makes sense to assume that they didnt need a replacement because of estarossa, cuz i doubt they would have a name like the 10 commandments and only have 9 members
If only Galan was targeted by the illusion, why are Elizabeth and Arthur still seeing things after he went away?
Also if the illusion was made to cater Galan desires, shoudn't perfect cube have been shattered too?
>Also if the illusion was made to cater Galan desires
What gave you that impression?
It showed off the reality of the situation. Galan could easily kill everyone; that's not just what he wants, but the truth.
I'm guessing whoever made the wanted posters as well as "why" could be of importance?
Cause whoever made them, they knew Estarossa.
And despite that, it doesn't depict the Meliodas we know as well.
>Implying if worse come to shove, DIane wouldn't have done more
She layed there for hours when we know she is a fucking tank. It ain't a fucking blow to her head that'd put her in this state. It's more complex than that.
Holy shit, Gowther NO
Well that was a pretty nice way of showcasing the 10 commandments powers without having to kill off any of the sins, we still know that Galan could have pretty much killed everyone there but now they're still alive. And it also leads into a Gowther backstory, I was actually expecting his to come next, then probably Diane's will happen if/when they encounter Matrona. Well done Nakaba.
>Merlin is petrified
>she's the one who stole some very important shit from Mel that possibly unlocks his full control over demon power
>implying Nakaba will bring her back any time soon
This is going to be rough for Mel who can only release his incomplete power that hurts everyone around him right now.
So,here is the deal:
Galan was still sealed. He likely had 1% of his real power and still thrashed everyone. Even Demon Meliodas didn't hit half of Galan's powerlevel.
Aside from Mel,Merlin and Gowther that could pull some magic/demon hax out of their asses, how are the rest of the sins going to beat them?
>implying Nakaba will bring her back any time soon
Probably when they reunite with King and Ban. King could un-pretify her.
Er, he was only drained of MAGICAL power. His physical strength and spirit shouldn't represent 1% of his power.
That's probably not the case.
It's implied the demons lost their magic.
Galan not only seems to be a very physical fighter, but he also stated he hates magicians.
I could see him having really little magic, so he probably wasn't too badly hurt by the seal.
Never. But seems like the typical thing to do.Party encounters the weakest member of an antagonist group getting a taste of the power, making it seem hopeless when considering the others are stronger than the one who just trashed them.
But you shouldn't have just taken a screenshot of the wiki page as evidence. Zeldris calls Estarossa brother (and mentions his name for the first time) at the end of Revelation.
It's probably not the limit. Galan's dialogue implies he's fairly old, and... I guess age does matter in terms of power based on what he said about Mel for demons.
So while right now, before the seal restoration, he might be the among, if not the strongest Commandment, but that'll probably change when they regain their magic. He might end up being on the weaker spectrum.
Then again, who knows what the third arc will be and how much stronger the enemies there will be.
>I guess age does matter in terms of power based on what he said about Mel for demons.
It matters for EVERYONE. Getting old means getting weaker, at a certain point. There's no special meaning beyond that at this point, given how Galan delivered that line.
king of fairies x leader of giants OTP
pls no bully
Well, that depends.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Demons just didn't get weaker with age.
So I more meant that Demons don't have some kind of saiyan thing going on where they'll never age physically, so even when they get really old, they retain their strength.
That cannot be it.
She wanted him to leave to avoid destruction not buy time.
If Galan would tell her what he knows, she would have to talk to, cause it was about making him leave. Not doing so, would go against her intentions to save Camelot.
It's not as if that can't be the case, but why would you think that? It's not implied, that's for sure. All he said is that "time is a cruel thing". He was actually surprised that Meliodas had become weak, you know.
She could tell him some stuff for sure, but she can't really tell him everything. Plus, she'd have to give him any aid he requires. She has to give her all to help them, basically.
I think the point was regardless if whether or not she would have told him anything is that she made that deal or said those things without any of that intention and was simply to buy time
It was buying time to figure out a way to make him leave.
And by the looks of it, she came up with releasing Gowther.
And hey, it worked. Too bad all of Camelot will now be raped by him instead.
Wasn't Galan power supposed to be sealed? Wasn't that the whole point of this page and the one before?
It's not sealed. Not sealed anymore, anyway, after Hendricksen temporarily opened up the Goddess Seal. His "power", that is, his magic power was drained. His physical strength and spirit weren't affected, except perhaps by disuse.
Power level is composed of power (magical might), strength (physical ability), and spirit.
>Power level is composed of power (magical might), strength (physical ability), and spirit.
That's what makes me confused...if he has no magical power, how did his "truth" power still work?
>shouldn't have been affected
Why? Because his spirit is over what exactly? Aren't you just making an unnecessary assumption?
>should have noticed
Like when Meliodas attacked him by surprise at the beginning of their battle? He noticed Merlin's teleportation spell because the entire area was saturated in it. He didn't notice when Meliodas used Lost Vayne to create his clones, so why would he notice Gowther's illusion magic when he couldn't tell apart Meliodas' clones except through his sense of battle?
Ah, I see. Maybe it's not his power, but some sort of enchantment that the Demon King placed on him?
10 seconds, buddy.
He was standing there for a little while, a short as it may have been.
Getting hit by that black beam can also have acted as the moment where he got struck.
Matter of fact, Galan seems to like toying.
He's fast as fuck, but if you look, you can see there are moments where he is standing momentarily.
If he doesn't anticipate Gowther, let alone aware of his existence and powers, there are plenty of chances.
Cause I don't think Galan was aware of him.
>Maybe it's not his power, but some sort of enchantment that the Demon King placed on him?
Probably the case, Galan even said.
>This commandment given by the King of the demons is absolute.
>by no means super fast
Why not? It's an arrow created from magic. Possibly from his Sacred Treasure, if his ability to create those projectiles are because Herritt is integrated into his body. With his precision, there's no reason why he can't get a surprise attack to hit like Meliodas in his unempowered form.
>Given by Demon King
So it basically confirms they are the answer to the commandments.
Don't speak falsely of others - Lie to Galan and you turn to stone.
The "Don't murder" commandment could be broken as fuck then, try to kill that demon and you are affected with something.
Well we know he got hit, and we've seen how fast those arrows are, i find it strange that someone like Galan would still not even notice it being shot let alone be hit and still not know.
We haven't really seen how fast those arrows are, but there's no reason their speed can't be changed if Gowther can also turn them into homing arrows.
>would still not even notice it being shot
Lots of characters never notice they've been hit.
Why would they even notice they were hit unless Gowther incorporates that into the illusion, anyway?
>try to kill that demon
Attempted murder isn't murder.
You would have to kill for his power to trigger, probably he tricks you into killing someone else to trigger it like when Aizen made everyone stab momo.
So many great panels in this chapter. This one is probably my favorite. Mel posing in the foreground, while he sets off his signature move in the back look just damn good. Love that composition. Close seconds would be Galan slicing things up in >>123613509 and of course thew hilariously outlandish cliffhanger page >>123613933, which I think is a great contender for one page threads.
As for the chapter itself, seems the king of Lyoness chose well, when he appointed the sins with his foresight power. Without Gowther they would have gotten creamed at this point.
>but relative to Galan it's super slow hence my suprise
You can say the same thing about Meliodas, can't you? Without his demon mark, Meliodas is on the same level as the other Sins. If Meliodas can get a surprise hit in, why can't Gowther?
I'm curious how anyone would even have a chance against the Ten Commandments if Galan is this strong. A group battle between the Sins and the Commandments would be way too one sided.
There will be three arcs, this is the second arc so the characters are guaranteed to win against the Demon Clan, there is no point in arguing about shitty powerlevels and asspulls. In fact, there is no point in reading this manga. Why am I even reading it? I think I'll stop today because I'm intelligent.
If you're lying under one it does. Are you being willfully obtuse? Besides, I'm sure Slader will think up something better for your reading pleasure, once he isn't in the middle of a death match, getting bitch slapped.
Well lets guess I guess.
>Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
>Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them
Big Mask Guy
>Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
>Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy
Floating Demon Souls Monster
>Honour thy father and thy mother
Blondie with the cloak
>Thou shalt not kill.
>Thou shalt not commit adultery.
>Thou shalt not steal.
>Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
>Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass
this has me wondering.. if someone were to say, "I will kill you Galan." and they aren't able to, do they immediately turn into to stone upon saying that or not only until after their actions are deemed futile?
Please, the Commandments have just become fucking unpredictable in terms of what they stand for.
Galan is the one guy who insisted on causing bloodshed and murder and this guy is Truth.
Might be more of a mental thing? Can't say for sure.
Like in this case, what if someone is just putting up a strong front? False confidence and all that.
It might just be a contextual ability that triggers when someone is willfully trying to deceive Galan. That would be the simplest interpretation, anyway.
Well, I think that you need to have the Intent to lie to Galan. If you try to kill him, but simply are not able to I wouldn't count that as a lie.
Why they just didn't all get into a perfect cube?
Reminder that just 1 of the 10 raped everyone easily without been on his full power... how the fuck they are going to win especially now that they are all dead
>Please, the Commandments have just become fucking unpredictable in terms of what they stand for
Yeah I know, its a complete mystery.
What if though... hold on a sec and bear with me here...
What if The Ten Commandments stood for The Ten Commandments! And each one of them stood for one of The Ten Commandments!
I know, its out there.
There was still the rest of Camelot to protect. Galan only destroyed a part of it; there were still citizens that needed protecting.
Merlin couldn't use magic to get into Perfect Cube, so if she put herself into one, she might not be able to cast magic to affect the area outside.
No point in time specified, so he could still end up killing Galan in the future, so not a lie. It's useless to think about such fringe cases, since we don't know how it's supposed to work. Same as those dudes asking whether female Ranma can get pregnant, or trying to make predictions based on powerlevels in any given shounen series.
>Like in this case, what if someone is just putting up a strong front? False confidence and all that.
Are you trolling? This is like watching a replicant take the "am I human" test.
If you say "I will kill you" and you believe it, then that is not a lie. You are telling the truth.
If you say "I will kill you" and you don't believe it, then that is a lie. You were not telling the truth.
No, I understand that, but it has a different context.
"The person doesn't believe they can kill the other person, but tries to anyway" is different from "trying to deceive the other party".
Maybe they arn't full heals just physical like this guy when he healed alot.
Here's my take
01. "God" - Cold Steel/Adult Mel
02. "Idol" - Cold Steel/ Adult Mel (I'm guessing all three Mels are directly related to the demon king so they get the god related spots)
03. "Blasphemy" -FemBan (Potty mouth)
04. "Sabbath" - Blob (He seems like a chill guy.)
05. "Honour" - Rapier Guy (Most knight-like)
06. "Kill" - Giant dude (most killtastic looking guy)
07. "Adultery" - Octololi
08. "Steal" - Fraudrin (body snatcher)
09. "Truth" - Galan
10. "Cover" - the chick with shadow arm cloaks
You are talking about two completely different things.
A lie depends upon intentionality.
>The person doesn't believe they can kill the other person, but tries to anyway
This is not a lie or a truth.
>If you don´t know that the prediction will come true or not, it won´t be a lie
Actually, if you are not sure if it will come true or not. It IS a lie.
It's only not a lie if you honestly believe you will be successful.
If you are not sure, or don't think you will be successful, then it's a lie.
Yeah, and there we go. That's what I was talking about in my first post.
It's a lie, but to themselves. They're not trying to deceive Galan, but putting up a strong front. They're not trying to deceive Galan into thinking they're capable of killing them, they're just shouting out some bravado. A separate scenario would be if they were lying to make themselves seem tougher, but that's different from what I'm saying.
Friendly reminder, anons.
i ask one question that's already been answered and there are people arguing about it. + that one guy who actually explained what a lie is
>That means he's the strongest for 1/2 the day, morning->evening.
What? No, I'm just saying it was early morning by the end of the Sins' battle against the vampires. From 00:00 to 12:00 AM onwards, his power climbs up. Then from 12:00 to 00:00 PM, his power descends.
Escanor's power probably gradually changes by the day, but let's separate his power by the hour since that's how Merlin did it in the special. He's at his peak strength at 12, so from 11:30 to 12:30 would be the area around which he's at his peak strength (or the closest to it).
So this guy and Melodias suffered from a curse like the "don't lie curse" from a commandment and became chibi. So the grown up Melodias from the wanted poster is the original form?
>Early morning Escanor seems to be around Meliodas' max demon mark level here
Would mean early night would be the same, 06:00->18:00 meaning he's the strongest sin for 12 hours a day.
You and some of the other people in this thread are trying to make this way too complex because you keep shifting the point at where the wheel turns.
His power can can potentially trigger three ways;
- He believes you told a lie
- You believe you told a lie
- The power itself (a third party, this would be God traditionally) knows that you told a lie
The second version is the weakest version of this power, and that's presumably the version in Nanatsu no Taizai. This version depends upon what YOU believe. So if you say "I will kill you" and you believe it completely then you told the truth. It also potentially gets much more complicated because it depends on what you can CONVINCE yourself that you believe. For example you could flee from the fight and escape, and then when you realize that you didn't kill him then you would turn to stone, unless you could completely convince yourself that you will kill him the next time you meet, and that's what you meant. Like George told Gerry before he took the lie detector test 'Remember, it's not a lie, if YOU believe it!"
The first version is a little more powerful, but does have week points because now it depends on what Galan believes. If he hears you say "I will kill you" even if he thinks you are wrong if he's honest with himself he doesn't know 100% so he would have to fight to find out.
The third version is the most powerful, but it also means that there is no free will and everything is predestined and there is only one unchanging future. That way the power itself (god) hears what you say, looks into the future (or the past or the present) and determines if you told the truth or not. This version could be used for all kinds of tricks if you were smart. It also dispenses with intentionality because know it doesn't matter what someone believes. Only what will happen.
His power peaks at noon, 12:00. 12:00 is his peak strength (disregarding whether or not the sun is at the "highest" point in the horizon at exactly 12:00, especially given that the orbit the Earth takes can change its light's position at whatever time of day depending on what time of the year it is, it does here within the story).
Anyway, either his power rises at midnight (00:00), or else it wouldn't match.
>the strongest sin for 12 hours a day.
I wasn't really arguing against this, you know. I'm just talking about the time of the day at which his power rises and at which it declines.
He said the demon king gave him the power, so it's entirely possible the demon king can take away the power (which he would do for a traitor).
Makes you wonder what kind of beast the demon king is if he can hand out shit that strong on a whim.
>>Anyway, either his power rises at midnight (00:00), or else it wouldn't match.
It starts rising the moment the sun rises. They raid Edinburgh at around midnight and he was still Wimpcanor then.
>It starts rising the moment the sun rises. They raid Edinburgh at around midnight and he was still Wimpcanor then.
His power peaks at noon, which means the sun is at its highest at noon.
It starts rising after midnight because, otherwise, it would be mismatched and he'd get weaker everyday.
>They raid Edinburgh at around midnight and he was still Wimpcanor then.
Yeah, because it was still close to midnight. But as time passed, he started getting more and more of his power back.
They don't have kids.
And it'd no longer be the seven deadly sins at that point.
And even if the name was changed they'd get curb stomped because Escanor is the only fighter left that would even stand a chance against the 10 commandments.
Out of the 3 spoilers I read over the last days, the one that turned out true was the one I dismissed outright as being too outlandish. That'll teach me.
So far, Suzuki had a knack to keep me satisfied at the end of a chapter. Like a roller coaster ride. You want more, but only because what just happened was already a great ride.
Yeah, I understand what you're saying now. Though, from my understanding the power boost happens instantaneously as soon as the sun rises since Buffcanor is implied to be a split "being". So it's more like
>6:00 - Buffcanor awakens, power gradually rises
>12:00 - power peaks
>6:00 - Buffcanor is at his weakest, instantaneously reverts to Wimpcanor.
>They don't have kids.
If we go by the legends they do. Meliodas and Elizabeth have Tristan, Ban and Elaine have Lancelot. You're right though, it wouldn't be the seven deadly sins anymore.
