So what did /a/ think of this series in the end? I fell behind mid-season and therefore missed out on the threads for the last few episodes.
>lotta shitposting in the threads around Galfagate, and a sustained amount afterwards, though that was mostly the fedora corps.
Yeah, I guess I missed out on that. All I remember is ridiculously long but strangely polite religious debates during the early episodes, then interest seemed to wane a bit around the mid-season mark because the threads weren't appearing particularly promptly on Sundays.
That might be the case, towards the end Cernunnos says something like "you only had to believe in yourself" or some bullshit. Which sounds pretty dumb until you consider that the show has been building a direct connection from belief/faith to magical power.
It's still kinda screwy and an asspull, but it's not like they defeat the big bad with magic. They do that with good ol' fashioned fists.
Cernunnos flat out says it's the reason he's so weak, and he notes that the same thing is happening to some rando goblins from the north. It's also what Cerni was going on about when he kept telling Maria that the people would forget her.
It kinda provides some insight to why Michael is so territorial.
Bernard's and Galfa's plotlines ended quite abruptly and unceremoniously, which was a pity.
I guess I just thought those plotlines were building towards something more significant.
