The sales from volume 1 is basically sealing the fate on season 2, isn't it? Have they even talked about the fan response to it yet?
No, it's selling well. That's the problem. The content of season 1 was shit, asides the curry/kongou sisters. Diomedea can't handle action or serious tones. I mean hell, someone link some of the webms of the action scenes and that's proof enough.
And it should, the series doesn't have a direct flow of storyline for the most part, so sticking to cutesy events/happenings around the base for the most part would be the best bet in the long run.
That would imply that production commitees are machines which only look at the sales.
Just the extremly negative reactions of the anime are threating the success of any further anime of the KanColle franchise if they aren't looking how to improve the anime.
That's half of the anime adaptations that happen. The point is to get new people involved and if you end up pissing off your main base, you have a chance of the new people replacing the old
Was anyone even pleased with how the anime turned out over in Japan? Even most of the fanartist were pretty much disappointed in it.
If only that was the case, it did a really bad job at introducing the whole thing people who have no idea what kancolle is either.
It was aimed directly at people who already had a vague idea of what Kancolle is and is milking their wallets
THOSE TWO GOT PLENTY OF LOVE BY THE ANIME
YOU KNOW WHO DID NOT? KISO!
It's okay, you can't just look at first volume sales anyway. Especially when they include bonuses like event tickets.
I don't know what caused /a/ to become so obsessed with first volume sales and daily sales rankings.
That's a good thing, I wouldn't want her to be butchered like the rest
>I really liked the anime
What did you even like about it? The tone was all over the place and made the drama impossible to take seriously, the only death was so blatantly foreshadowed and irrelevant in the end because everyone else was saved by the power of friendship and magic forcefields, the Midway trauma came out of nowhere in the last two episodes, most characters were completely one dimensional and just kept spamming game lines, and Bucky being the super special fate defying destroyer because the invisible mute admiral wanted to fuck her is utterly ridiculous. I don't even have to start on what a clusterfuck the finale was. You don't have to have been a fan of the series to think this was shit.
I will post this occasionally until you like her.
How did they react to the abyssals being able to digivolve in it?
That is exactly my point. The anime could have been an opportunity to expand on personalities.
I am thinking of the Cinderella Girls anime, where for better or worse a lot of the main girls got their personalities flashed out quite a bit.
>Why is it that you're the only one who heals so fast?
>Why is it that Midway Hime doesn't die unless you're destroyed?
>Why is that?
>Look Ise, found one that might help us.
Trolling this hard. Love this artist.
It's a shame what they did with those two. They did not really butcher them in terms of changing the way they behaved ingame. Ooi is fucking gay and Kitakami ignores that shit, it was funny the first time.
But then they had to pull the same joke in every single episode and it got really annoying
>I don't know what caused /a/ to become so obsessed with first volume sales and daily sales rankings
Shitposting, plain and simple. Half of the sales threads are proof of that. Studio wars, fanbase shitflinging, trolls trolling trolls etc. and all of that sprinkled with a gracious amount of gloating, whining, and bemoaning state of the industry.
Are heads some kind of erogenous zone?
Mostly, season one was bad and that it's selling well because of the event tickets for Summer. We'll really see how well off sales are when we can get an idea of vol. 2 numbers, but even still. Seeing it sell that high just because of that is depressing.
Anons, let us greet our wonderful writers for KanColle Season 1.
Hanada Jukki - Episodes 1 (Bucky's first sortie), 2 (Bucky training), 5 (Zuikaku vs Kaga), 8-10 (Hotel, Poi K2, Bucky training Part 2)
Yoshino Hiroyuki - 3 (Goodbye Kisaragi), 7 (Cranes ambushed), 11 (Girls serious, MI starts)
Aoshima Takashi - 4 (Kongous' cutie whiplash), 6 (DesDiv6 and Curry)
Which one(s) would you commend?
Which one(s) do you despise?
would you see hanged?
I want to know why the Abyssals can evolve. That part is still bugging me more than the awful combat sequences and enemies that stand still.
At least the SOL bits were somewhat decent. Not a single bit of the shipgirl action was.
Jukki's dialogue and pacing both suck.
I suppose if he were being forced to make Fubuki super duper extra special then some of it couldn't be helped, but some of it seriously grated.
If you take a good look at it, it seems that they can evolve, but this image is missing stuff.
>Seems like they can
And that's the problem. I don't mind if they can, but I've always just compared the Abyss to something like the Venom symbiote. It can adapt and alter itself, but not to the point of completely changing its original material. It'd be nice to get some more characterization for them, but I don't think they really want to bother right now. At least for a bit that is, but I could see them giving them some sceen/book/gametime to the Abyss one day.
No, otherwise we would have more than 1 1/2 episodes about her.
Show was a clusterfuck. Either you are telling the story from Fubuki's PoV in combination with a small support cast. Or you are doing the full fanservice route and put so many ships as poosible in the show.
The last episode was killed by trying to include all characters and even introducing Taihou for 20s screentime.
That's just fan speculation. Even if they can evolve, it doesn't make sense that the only case we've seen of it has been an airbase moving thousands of miles to become an island. Installation type bosses have never shown up outside of their events, with one exception because 3-5 revisits the same area.
Honestly I think if they'd just foreshadowed some shit the show wouldn't have been half the clusterfuck that it was.
It honestly feels like the first six episodes were written completely independently of each other and then stapled together.
Agreed. Those were the best episodes.
Based Aoshima. He would have been perfect for the whole series if it had been mostly SoL and comedy centric.
Hanada and Yoshino are hit and miss though, especially when it comes to their drama plots in originals and even more so when they're together. I just hope that Hanada learns from his mistakes like he apparently did with LL.
I have no idea, but it's the best course for this series. There's no point trying to have a haphazard serious plot to something that doesn't have much of a direction in general. People are mainly in this because of the shipgirls, so you need to do you best to display that asset.
Also, either pick having random girls being the MC from episode to episode with perspective switching in each, or man the fuck up and create a TTK that's worth a damn and not some strange oddity that can't be shown on screen.
Admiral Bison never.
Here's how somebody could have salvaged the anime:
Start the ship memory thing from Episode 1, or maybe 2, even if it's only hints. Make Akagi's early speech more serious and less sentimental. Give Fubuki a dream flashback to her own launching ceremony where she overhears people talking about how the Special-Type Destroyers represent the start of a new era in Japanese navigation so the audience can at least pretend to go along with the "Fubuki is super special" premise for the rest of the show. Introduce Kisaragi in Episode 2. Do something about the mood whiplash in 4 - Nagato and the Myoukou 4 don't actually accomplish this because they don't really join in the fun. Make Fifth Mobile slightly less dysfunctional on the battlefield. Put a little more resentment into Yamato (not because it fits her character, but because it would emphasize the bitterness involved).
I guess that's all the ideas I had, other than maybe having Kisaragi show up with the Fleet of Fog and destroy everything with the supergravity laser in the last episode.
You forgot one of the biggest holes in the anime: we're never given a reason to hate the Abyssals. Kisaragi dies, but she attacked them in the first place. We know nothing about the state of the world or what the Abyssals are doing to it; we never see how the war affects ordinary people or what anyone gains from defeating them. Every battle might as well have been a pointless slideshow against cardboard cutouts of enemies.
There's no sense of tension since it became obvious no one would die after Kisaragi, and it's unbelievable the way none of the ship girls question their situation. The anime desperately needed an admiral character, if only to have someone normal and human that could ask the audience's questions instead of blindly accepting fairy magic and an inevitable fate based on things everyone should really know not to do again.
Too lazy to care.
With all the anthologies, they should have just made a Sengoku Collection style anime with every episode based on one of the anthology stories.
She is for tender night battling.
While other faces are for licking.
So in the game / real life a whole lotta ships died / get fucked up for this operation right? (on EP 11)
Also an anime only fag
How big of an ass pull did they do? Was it like TITANIUM RIBS?
Myouko-class are my drink buddies!
I want to impregnate this woman.
In real life, the four carriers sank and the rest of the fleet retreated. In the game, those carriers got new voice lines and upgrades to prepare for it and most people steamrolled through their trauma.
The anime just sort of blindly stumbles into it and succeeds through generic asspulls, like Fubuki shooting the planes down at the last moment and magically knowing the secret to defeating Midway. Kisaragi might have been the damaged Wo though, which would be unbelievably stupid. Overall the thing most people flipped shit over was the season 2 announcement.
>four carriers sank
You forgot someone.
Can you post a pic of the 4 carriers? I don't know anything about the girls // ships
Why her bow flip.
Fresh shitpost, hot off the maupon presses.
QUALITY is the reason.
Be careful though, Nachi is manly enough that she might impregnate you instead.
You just need to know how to handle her
65% of the girls would have been the MC
>Why her bow flip.
Because that is normal for how they fire those bows.
Not that it makes any sense in actual combat. This archery technique is purely for show.
Admiral should've been the MC.
A shipgirl should have been the admiral and the MC
Thank you based anon. Still seems Impractical though, But I guess I can see how the force of the shot makes it flip.
Damn it. Samidare is really the cutest.
Hanada is pretty much hit and miss. The first episode was actually pretty nice and had a good introduction feeling to it. Hotel episodes were also nice with good moments in it, rest of it shit.
Our lord and savior please put him in charge of the second season.
Kiyo for MC
Fun antics with the most lovable BB and all of the DDs she aspires to.
