YuYuYu is the best original series since 2010.
Prove me wrong. Protip: You can't.
>Prove me wrong.
The last episode aired.
It pretty seamlessly integrates both healing SoL, suffering and battles in the same series without feeling jarring at all. Also has a very well rounded cast, I couldn't really pick a favorite while watching, I just liked them all. It's only significant flaw in my opinion is that their pacing is a bit strange, leaving the final episodes compressing a lot of development in less time than I think it deserved.
The YYY dub premieres today if I recall correctly, so if anything we'll get a nice shitstorm going.
I liked the last episode, although I'll agree that it was rushed. YYY really needed 13 episodes.
Please stop fighting
You're a meme in these threads.
It was fun but lets not get ahead of our selves here anon.
So the basic premise of it was the characters are living inside a just released and unfertilized egg and fighting with vectors/sperm trying to get inside the egg to fertilize it. So they're trying to preserve the egg, and thus keep their world from being destroyed. A vertex getting inside/pregnancy would be an end to their carefree life. But the happy ending for them is just to make it through their journey down the the fallopian tubes, fighting all the way, until they can become menses and then a new egg will be born. It's darker in a similar way as Madoka since even a victory from the character's point of view is only temporary. But it's also got the added layer of commentary on youth and freedom being threatened by the unwanted adult responsibility of pregnancy and childbirth and parenthood that makes it more emotionally sophistacted.
the more I look at all these arguments, the more I am sure that its more symphogear than madoka.
The only things it has in common with Dokes are the character designs and the fact that there's a dark twist. But the characters are very different and the actual twist of the world is also different (and coming much later). It's also heavily character-focused. Like >>123458544 said, it's more Symphogear than Madoka.
The CG is mostly because Gokumi is a literally-who studio with a few bowls of cold udon for a budget. It was used well, though.
12 days till BD5 release and rest of the OST including the full version of Inori no Uta
Previews here: http://yuyuyu.tv/bddvd/bddvd_05.php
Also cover version:
I didn't notice CGI on the actual girls themselves besides their Mankai forms, unless you're talking about the Vertex.
But yeah, for being a low-budget production it manages to look nice, plus dat soundtrack. All the flowers and MONACA chanting makes it feel like a spinoff of Drakengard 3 or something.
A few of those are debatable but
>local animal girls go awoo: the series
>better than yuyuyu
I can't help but think that the ending is just weird. They were in an utterly hopeless situation, and things were just...fixed, for no real explanation.
I mean, what was the point of it? Doesn't this mean that cripple girl (Also the hottest one) decided to try and DESTROY THE WORLD over absolutely nothing? It just feels weirdly pointless to me, because it was much ado over nothing.
They didn't even have a clever way out. Their only solution was "Okay, we're going to end up vegetables after this, but we need to save the world anyway!" and they ended up vegetables. Then...they got better? Somehow?
I just don't know, man.
Maybe. The rest: NO.
It is funny, fafner is doing the same thing as yuyuyu right now. From the op narration, it seems like they are going for max despair and a mountain of sacrifice unlike yuyuyu.
they are brainwashed nationalists
They were thinking about the greater good and the survival of their nation.
Of course they went astray because of the effects their power had and so on, but they found back their belief and determination to protect their nation and mankind.
Does that mean since Sora no Woto?
but A1 is too busy with good shows that totally deserve their huge budgets
From what I understand Shinju decided to cut his losses and return function to the yuushas' body parts (since it's the Shinju that powers everything in the world), since he realised how dangerous emotionally unstable middle school girls could be. The reason he took them as sacrifices in the first place was to compensate for the power needed to provide the fairies and mankai ability, and now both of those are gone.
I accept that thats your opinion on this series but I still like YuYuYu more.
The healing felt good anyway.
The budget just isn't the same. And YuYuYu is still very good animation-wise.
I fucking disagree. The characters in Madoka were underdeveloped as fuck. Here, the personalites are clear-cut, understandable and keep clear of some tropes.
The rest, I agree.
There really aren't a lot of action scenes in Madoka to begin with. The only fight scene that is actually good in Madoka and better than any action scene in Yuyuyu is the fight between Mami and Homura in Rebellion. And that's just because of movie budget.
Shirobako isn't worse than YuYuYu. YuYuYu is just better than Shirobako.
And GuP is fun m8 you wanna get hit?
>Ms. Terui has a beautiful singing voice as evidenced in her work in the theme song performances for these same series.
>beautiful singing voice
I just read Sonoko after.
"(...But every time I look at Yu~yu, I feel a bit strange. I wonder what that is~. It feels like something's not right~)"
so ...does this mean Yuuna is still fated to be kill?
I thought everything would be diejobu ;_;
Them's fightin' words m80
not as long the Messiah Tougou will save her with the power of love.
imba, Nanoha spirit fairy and Starlightbreaker
We have more Symphogear YuYuYu crossovers thought.
There is also a fanart where Hibiki and Yuuki are manly punching each other.
Don't have it right now.
>he hasn't watched Symphogear
oh shit nigga what are you doing
Just know that a few people don't like the first few episodes, after about 4-5 it settles into its rhythm.
Bikki is best girl
Hibiki is a fistfighter like Yuuna so I am sure you have great taste my friend.
Oh. But where was the training montage?
Going for Symphogear now is the best as S3 is around the corner so you can join the wild ride too.
Magical girls have always been about suffering, even if it used to be mundane "Shit happens" that magic can't help with.
>This sorta situation is fine, too
Too bad that there's no play in VN2. Would be neat if there was one with roles reversed
and actual kissthis time.
Read Sonoko After. Yuuna made the Shinju-sama realize the potential of humanity, and so it changed the system to allow humanity stand on its own and overcome the Vertex, rather than just delaying their inevitable fall.
Which begs the question of how Taisha administration will muck up everything in S2. I can just imagine them being at a loss at how to handle their new Yuusha Army and trying to "fix" everything with extra udon rations.
But they can still get injured and die. Puberty + death is a bad combination. Not everyone will have such mental fortitude as Wasshi and Sonoko.
>Uh, Karin, what exactly are you up to?
>"What", you ask... It's exactly what it looks like.
>Huh... I wonder what you're planning to do to me next.
>Don't you already know?
because mostly, Karin is for bullying.
I would put that under heroic
The nice thing about yuri tsunderes is that they almost always get paired with an appropriate handler, someone like K-ON's Yui who's so airheaded and pure that the tsun just bounces off to no effect, or like Sonohana's Mai who knows which levers to pull to defuse them. It helps stop them just coming off as bitchy and/or dangerously bipolar, as tsunderes in general so often do.
Suppose YuYuYu was written by Urobuchi instead of Takahiro.
How would it turn out?
More suffering all around
Yuuna ends up in coma forever
If he's feeling especially dark, Togo ends up killing Yuuna and destroying the world,
only to end up going back in time and becoming Homura
Any anons at Seattle to see Parunyasu in person?
>tfw east coast
Someone i on twitter went there.
>Parunyasu: "I can't speak English; I'm not good with Japanese either but I'm worst with English."
>On the possibility of a Yuyuyu sequel:
>"The series was quite a hit in Japan so we're really putting our heads together on what comes next."
>The cutest and most endearing thing is Parunyasu covering her eyes in embarrassment after everytime she answers a question.
>And at times even tearing up a little bit, because she is really putting a lot of thought and feeling into each answer.
Apparently, Takahiro is in Europe.
Yuna-san! Make me an adult!
Uh, no! I uh, I mean I want to be able to smile for everyone like you, Yuna-san
I want to be just like you in that regard...
I see~ But you know, Itsuki-chan, I think I want to be like you~
What do you mean?
I mean how you're oblivious to your own cuteness, Itsuki-chan!
It's thanks to you that I can smile, Itsuki-chan!
Thank you Anon!
Have a hair down Karin in gratitude.
There is a lot of this.
Symphogear 3 is apparently the drug of choice for YuYuYu withdrawl.
>called her turning into a vegetable to restore her friends and becoming the ultimate hero
>silly ending where she's healed but hinted at not being daijoubu at the same time
It would have been the best if she stayed a potato until S2, but alas.
So sad but adorable at the same time.
I want to do Onee-chan stuff!
You want to do Onee-chan... stuff, huh...
Okay, then today, you're my Onee-chan, Itsuki.
Leave it to me.
When's dinner ready~?
When's the bath ready~?
Wake me up tomorrow~
I... I still wanna do little sister things after all, Onee-cha~n!
What a cutie.
Now imagine Karin moving in to this household.
Itsuki with TWO onee-chans now.
I just finished the show a few minutes ago. I liked it a lot, but I'm a sucker for "everything turns out okay" endings. I think I like it a lot better than Madoka, because I feel like I cared about the characters a lot more in this.
I also pre-ordered this when I was about half-way through the series. I wish it would come out sooner.
Do they have Mankai Armor to fit over them?
We'll just have to wait until season 2 to see.
How do the Yuushabu rank in terms of being a true Nonoriri?
Y: I won't forget! When I couldn't move, all those things Tougou-san's done to me...!!
T: Forget them!!
T: She found out!! (Small letter)
Y: Take... responsibility, okay...?
T: With pleasure!!
