Is this going to be even half as successful as K-on?
Or is everyone watching it just to see cute girls blow things?
>I hope it's actually good
When was the last time KyoAni made something good?
it was popular because people enjoyed it.
it wasn't a waifuwar, at least 4 in 5 viewers preferred Sento to the others.
so you're just making things up in a blind immature rage because a thing you didn't watch or like was enjoyed by others.
I disagree; I liked the music a lot, the art and animation were fantastic (as KyoAni usually tends to do) and I enjoyed the story.
Plus, I thought there were a lot of well-shot/directed scenes throughout. Not the whole things, but a few really stand out in my mind.
Not him, but Amaburi was the first KyoAni show I didn't really jell with.
I can't place why, but it pushed the wrong buttons.
At least Earth was cute
When will this be a thing?
Does that one show about the Camera girls count?
No, Tamako Love Story in particular had unnecessary forced drama. It wasted more than half of the movie with Tamako being confused about her feelings, and it was quite boring too.
I enjoyed the comedy within the episodes. not a huge fan of the over-arcing plot past the first couple episodes
>I liked the music a lot
Kyoukai no Kanata was the first show where I actually noticed and disliked sound effects, opening and ending were absolutely forgetable for me and I can't even remember anything sound-related about the series. That one idol-episode and Idol Saiban are left and I find them unamusing as well.
Animation? Well, that's KyoAni for you. They spend some time on graphics, but that's it. Cute characters and somewhat fluid animation.
Story's full of asspulls, specifically in the end. And that's if we look superficially.
>Kyoukai no Kanata was the first show where I actually noticed and disliked sound effects, opening and ending were absolutely forgetable for me and I can't even remember anything sound-related about the series.
Pretty subjective, then, because I really enjoyed the OP/ED and the in-show soundtrack.
>Animation? Well, that's KyoAni for you. They spend some time on graphics, but that's it. Cute characters and somewhat fluid animation.
It was still pretty good from even a KyoAni show, in my opinion.
>Story's full of asspulls, specifically in the end. And that's if we look superficially.
I'm definitely not saying it's some kind of masterpiece, but the plot carried on well enough and wasn't absolutely pants-on-head. It did have a pacing issue, though.
I think KyoAni did a great job with the character interactions/personalities. I enjoyed watching those the most.
>I think KyoAni did a great job with the character interactions/personalities
And that's what I absolutely hated the most. The MC was a bland straight man and the black haired guy had nothing beyond obsessing over his sister. I'll admit I liked maybe one scene with Mirai and red eyed Mio but that was one of the only times where the dialogue wasn't shitty.
The only good things about Free were the water animation and Rei, and even though he was a miracle of the universe, everything else was just so boring and melodramatic that I couldn't really enjoy the show.
>The MC was a bland straight man
He was tenacious and sarcastic, more so than a usual straight man. I'll give you the brother, but
>that was one of the only times where the dialogue wasn't shitty.
I totally disagree. The banter between the characters was great.
Anon, they barely even used different background music or they never had any variety of it in the first place, I consider this a major flaw. I dislike when BGM is unfitting and there's too much of it, but when there's only one background track for every occasion it's ridiculous.
Considering plot, I disagree, anon, since I've noticed a slight amount of holes, in the ending specifically. For me, Kyoukai no Kanata has a weak one.
>I think KyoAni did a great job with the character interactions/personalities. I enjoyed watching those the most.
I honestly find characters too bland, except for some, almost like they were from some shit ecchi. Just look at the “kek le epic siscon”, or “MEGAne-man B^)”, that's enough.
I only liked Izumi and that's only because I'm into onee-sans.
>I dislike when BGM is unfitting and there's too much of it, but when there's only one background track for every occasion it's ridiculous.
Eh, opinions. I thought the BGM was fine.
> I disagree, anon, since I've noticed a slight amount of holes, in the ending specifically. For me, Kyoukai no Kanata has a weak one.
Again, it's totally not perfect, but I thought the story was fine.
Plus, the movies are going to fix that. The second movie is canon, I think, and it comes after the ending.
>I honestly find characters too bland, except for some, almost like they were from some shit ecchi. Just look at the “kek le epic siscon”, or “MEGAne-man B^)”, that's enough.
I definitely disagree here. I liked just about all the characters, and really liked most of them and didn't find them bland
I'm not implying, I'm just stating a fact.
I doubt it but I actually think this will get 20k sales easily if they handle it well and it's not some drama fest.
I guess you could've said it's subjective, but I literally sat throughout the whole series waiting for another background track to appear, and there were none. Something good happens—“Track 1” it is! Tension's building up? That's exact time we use “Track 1”, it's not like we use it for different occasion or anything.
I might be mistaken, but while I was watching KnK, it got to the point where I paid slight attention to background music, which I'm not supposed to do, and I remember one thing — there was one track, it was used improperly, and that's the thing that triggers my autism the most about Kyoukai no Kanata.
>movies are going to fix that
I haven't seen the first movie yet, so I can't tell, but if they don't make the plot two times better than the original, storyline is still going to be garbage.
>I liked just about all the characters
Now that's an “opinion”, anon, because when two characters have a shitload of dialogs discussing their fetishes they are proud of for the sake of otakus relating to them, that's unacceptable and has no place rather than shit ecchi shows.
No, since its drama. Drama by default cant be as popular unless it already has established big fanbase (manga, VN, popular LN) or is extraordinary and surprisingly good like say Anohana.
It cant get as big as K-On, it should aim to be as good as Hyouka.
If you watched K-On! for the music you were a faggot.
If you watched it for the
fun, you were in for a good time.
Why would this be different? So far it sounds like "K-On!, but with an antagonist!"
>extraordinary and surprisingly good like say Anohana.
Real men watch cute shows about cute girls doing cute things, and like saxophones.
Are you a real man? Or are you a faggot?
I like cute girls but not saxophones.
They make an annoying noise and sound like shit.
They can't even play chords, like, what's the point, you can just play shitty solos on them.
THE TRUTH REVEALED:
You're a shitty sax player who can't make a nice sound on one, and you have nom8s, so you can't play in a little band.
I bet you think tubas always sound like farts.
I just think they sound like shit, jazz would be the best genre if it wasn't full of fucking sax players thinking they sound good.
At least they're better than trumpets I guess, but not by much.
I greatly disagree.
The OST was amazing, the SoL scenes were above average, the main cast was very cute and the portrayal of friendship was very heartwarming.
And there's something really wrong with you if you didn't like Makoto.
So you agree on the rest? Good.
>getting excited for one of Kyoani's most boring shows ever
Just watch the trailer, looks like it will be 8/10 at worst
There's something very wrong with you if you don't want to abuse shota Makoto.
Why is megane-chan so cute? I can't wait to see more of her.
She looks more serious on the book covers because
Reading off 2ch and matome sites on the first-episode impressions (very questionable credibility):
- The first episode covered a miniscule amount of the novel. To put into perspective, apparently it covered less than half of the first chapter of the manga adaptation.
- A lot of the episode were spent covering Kumiko's inner thoughts and emotional struggle.
- All in all it's an introductory episode, and too early to judge how good the rest of the series is based on the episode alone (though we're all going to judge it anyway, 10 days away and I can already hear the "boring" and "zzzz" and the people-fall-asleep-in-front-of-computer.jpgs).
- Ishihara OP, working his spinning motion-camera action again.
- Yamada ED, if you've seen her EDs you know what to expect. Someone said something about a red string (of fate?) in the ED.
- ED is written and composed by ZAQ, so that's yet another Chuu2 connection.
- Lots of depictions of legs, the space between legs. Someone also mentioned there's a focus on the difference in heights between characters.
- A user on 2ch said the animation doesn't reach Hyouka-tier, but it's quite up there.
- Sapphire is very kawaii
Band girls are not cute, they are creepy and annoying. They may appear otherwise in two dimensional form but it is a deception.
Do not be deceived, pursue the truth @4chan.org
>- Ishihara OP, working his spinning motion-camera action again.
>- Yamada ED, if you've seen her EDs you know what to expect. Someone said something about a red string (of fate?) in the ED.
I hope there's some big band like concert being played
But I did watch it and you can't tell me the plot wasn't poorly structured. Especially toward the end it felt very rushed and was full of open questions due to careles plot telling (juice guy suddenly vanishing, Nase sister's intentions, the identity of the old guy in the cave).
The main cast was insufferable because of all the forced fetish talk and unfunny running gags. The audience was supposed to feel sympathy for Mirai and Akihito but they were just annoying.
What's going on here
>same stale shitposting
>this character made a joke a few times so their whole personality is ruined. I'll ignore that almost all anime characters have an archetype or running gag
>the ending was shit that didn't make sense even though people have explained what happened and the new movie literally confirms and revolves around the explanation that anons gave
It's ok. Keep shitposting Kyoani threads because they "betrayed" you or whatever other bullshit you believe.
i know thats a case for an instrument, probably a euphonium. somebody said this show was about humanized instruments with souls or something so maybe that has something to do with it.
or maybe she wants you to 'play' her anon ;)
Why is she handing me a long sword to kill myself? She should be the one to cut my head off with that after I commit sudoku with a shorter sword.
Fucking bitch doesn't even know how to tell me to kill myself.
The characters are unlikeable, it's subjective.
And the plot is not good when things don't make sense, it's that simple.
You should stop being blinded by your misplaced overenthusiasm and accept it has a lot of faults instead of denouncing everyone's attention span who voices criticism against it.
I actually agree with you.
He was one of the better brass soloists because he, together with Kenny Dorham was one of the few that understood how awful their instruments were and used as less notes as possible.
>or is everyone watching it to see cute girls blow things?
Of course. Is there other things to see?
Maybe the OSt will be good. >>123374961
Maybe Euphonium will sexualize girls playing wind instruments.
Boobs is already sexualized enough by every other studio
i need more though and with kyoani art
Why are you doing this man? We trumpet players have already lost our relevance in popular music. Just let us enjoy our golden years.
If PV is any indication there will be a lot of mouth action and lip service
You claimed the running gags ruined them, when in reality they're completely standard for anime.
And the people who watched the show for reasons other than to shitpost threads explained what happened dozens of times. If you were too stupid to follow it or just weren't paying attention, that isn't the shows fault
I know it's standard for anime but in Kyokai it was simply overdone to the point of the characters becoming obnoxious. The SoL scenes and interactions were painful to watch due to this.
I was in the threads and read those posts but they were nothing but theories loosely based on the show with no hard evidence. Those "explanations" were just some anons' speculations because the loose ends weren't neatly tied together at the end which is a sign of poor plot handling.
People were just fabricating things in their head and claiming the plot wasn't a mess.
They aren't annoying at all. I found them sympathetic and human.
As for you claiming the things said were "loose theories" that holds absolutely no fucking weight when the new movie follows up literally on those plot points.
