Did Ikuhara succeed in creating the Gundam of yuri?
Of course, we're witnessing the birth of the real yuri genre.
Bingewatching Ikuhara's shows is not a good idea.
He loves repeating scenes and phrases over and over and over again, slowly changing their meaning but not the content as the story develops.
It's an interesting rhetoric device, but it means it could drive you insane.
It was fantastic. Lulu, Mitsuko, Yuriika were all top-tier bears.
What studio should Ikuni work with next?
Penguindrum + Brains Base were undoubtedly the best so far, but now Brains Base has gone to shit.

Is their love true?
Weird, I've binge watched Utena every time I watched it (With the exception of the first season which I watched as it came out on VHS) and I think it always worked pretty well for me.
Where does this "bingewatching" come from?
Recently I've seen this a bunch of times on /a/ but I never heard it before that so I guess it's some foreign thingy. I only know about marathoning a series.
depends on what you're trying to get out of it. if you're a DEEPfag, being able to digest episodes requires some pause between. if you're just there for the show, it doesn't really matter
So now that is finished, what are the chances of this getting AT LEAST 1 doujin?
Twintails are justice. Those who love twintails must be good at heart.
I can't help but thinking about YKA overall when I heard this old school tune on radio while driving home from work
Does she mean that she was the first one to desire it? That line confuses me a bit cause they both desired for the same thing, but Kureha implies here that her wish played major role.
should be like a 2 or 3 episode OVA if the original creator of the lite novel allows Ikuhara to do his magic once again!
Also, did that red file cabinet box came from Yuriika's office?
hers was a selfish wish, ginko's was a sacrifice. the storybook explains that in order to break the barriers between lovers, you must kill "yourself" meaning you must be selfless to your partner. it would have ended more sweetly for everyone if she hadn't had "pride"
>should be like a 2 or 3 episode OVA if the original creator of the lite novel allows Ikuhara to do his magic once again!
What do you mean by this? The LN is an adaptation of the anime, not the other way around.
>Also, did that red file cabinet box came from Yuriika's office?
Maybe it was because there were only 12 episodes but everything was so roundabout and nonprogressive. And not roundabout as in re-using scenes a shitload like Ikuhara loves to, but plot wise they just kept restating the same things again and again while hardly doing anything with it. Characters were pretty stiff too, in a non enjoyable kind of way.
Biggest fault was that there was no concrete villian though: just faceless society and various people of the week.
Show's quality is incredibly inconsistent. >>123332817
Ikuhara's works really aren't that pretentious. As a director he just prefers to show things to you symbolically but it's not done to be obfuscating it's just what he does. There isn't a lot of reaching or preaching in his shows.
Someone asked for a vector of the cups in a previous thread. Gave it a shot...
>Biggest fault was that there was no concrete villian though: just faceless society and various people of the week.
1. You're not using "...of the week" correctly. Go refresh your memory with some kids shows or something.
2. As people have pointed out, the lack of the concrete villain was the one of the biggest parts of the story. The face of the Invisible Storm was everyone and no one.
Best girl. Also, what is up with the red bee that was circling these two, and it was also in Lulu's flashbackstory episode. What was the deal with that thing?? What was it supposed to symbolize??
Why Kureha wish to be with Ginko instead of Sumika? Not only Sumika was Kureha's true love but she happens to be Kumaria-sama. Why fuck a filthy bear instead of a goddess? It doesn't make sense
>Not only Sumika was Kureha's true love but she happens to be Kumaria-sama. Why fuck a filthy bear instead of a goddess? It doesn't make sense
actually Kumaria sama is faceless.
Personally I think this entire X-Files ruckus is to blame. A lot of normies are going to rewatch the previous seasons before the new mini-series starts, I've seen that term used a lot in relation to it.
I usually love analyzing and thinking about the possible meanings but not so much with Yuri Kuma.
I don't think it's all obvious but for some reason things that I didn't understand don't really bother me this time around.
It feels more like an emotional ride than an actual piece of art that I want to think about. Don't know whether or not that means that Ikuhara failed but I like the show quite a bit.
>Did Ikuhara succeed in creating the Gundam of yuri?
but Fukuda did
Just passing by to remind you all that Kureha choose a shitty serial killer over an almighty goddess
Cross Ange is more about general lewdness, not yuri specifically.
No, we're still waiting on that show about a rowdy tomboy pilot and her cute meganekko mechanic, that hold hands in between colonial space battles...
