Maybe for a c-section, but even then physical recovery doesn't take that long. Birthing children is physically taxing but anyone who wanted to go back to work could easily after two weeks or so. If they were dedicated I doubt it would take longer than a week. I had a tumour taken out of my kidney, first two days I was in bed floored by my PCA pump, then I just had to take a shit and they discharged me after I was able to walk and stopped bleeding, so a few days. I was off of work and pissing blood clots for the rest of the month but even after that huge surgery I was able to physically go to work after about two weeks I'd say, and my job at the time required a lot of standing. If I had an office job like I'd imagine most women have, sitting at a desk, I could have done it after a week. And that's after a major surgery that theoretically I easily could have been in the hospital bed for half a month and then at home for longer.
