Why don't these brilliant creators don't get any feature works lately? Oshii is solely live-action now and he mentioned recently that he would like to create some new animation but he has no offers. Rintarou is silent and Ootomo tries to scrap some budged at least for bunch of shorts so it seems he also would like to work more.

All of it is pretty meh.
A lot of characters are pointless even while being given a bit of depth.
All characters seem to have issues but are only brought up for the sake of it.
Like the glasses guy dyeing his hair because he has no free will or some shit which never goes anywhere.
Or Taiga having daddy issues which could maybe who the fuck knows explain why she's a tsundere but fuck if the anime will go anywhere on any of it.

The only good thing about it is that Christmas episode with the music being perfectly timed and the kiss at the end.

If you had watched more than 40 "animes", you'd know chinese cartoons are not to be judged by the opening episodes. Now go back to working for Pixar and drawing cars and planes for schizoids.
And in retrospect, even ep 1 seems alright. It's just that the director throwing the viewer in the middle of an ongoing story leaves them in a state of confusion. And they blame everything on the animation.

What a fucking masterpiece this is. Why are people always posting about EVA when they've got Glasslip instead? It has amazing characters, incredible visual style, superb audio tracks, a rock-solid plot, absolutely no asspullery whatsoever, and is even a deconstruction, a word most of you do not even fully comprehend. Oh, and the ending is 10/10, absolutely PHE·NOM·E·NAL. The only faults I could possibly give this show is its rather slow start and the fact that it's packaged as a "Slice of life" show, which is why it took me so long to get around to watching it. And I really can't even say those are faults. For being only 13 episodes, it manages to tell an absolutely incredible tale, and deliver a powerful message. Although, like every great anime, it does suffer from "This shit is too short" syndrome. Despite this, Glasslip is a full 10/10 masterpiece of a show. It's not even my favorite anime, there are plenty of 9/10 anime I like better, but it would be impossible to say any of them are objectively better. Hands-down the objectively best anime I have ever seen, and /a/ does not talk about it nearly enough, perhaps because it is so rock-solid that there's virtually nothing at all to nit-pick about.
